When I look on YT for “how to”, I want quick, concise info, but often videos are loaded with unnecessary redundant info that burns up time. Your video was quick, concise, well made, and to the point. Thank you!
Hi Dan, last night, I literally spent my entire Thursday evening (like 5 hours) engrossed with your XJ videos. I watched on my AppleTV and was unable to comment while watching on my living room TV set, so here I am today, making the effort to let you know how much I appreciate your work as a UA-cam creator. What I truly dig about your videos is not only your vast knowledge on the subject matter but equally important, you seem like a really nice guy and your humor is magnificent, I love all those movie clips you throw in the mix. Nice touch.
John, your the greatest! Thanks again for all the views and feedback! I'm glad you are entertained by my vids. I believe XJs are great subject matter, but if the viewers are not entertained then they wont stick around for the education. Im trying to be more entertaining as I loosen up in front of the camera. LoL.. Recently I was called out in the "off road carnage challenge" by D&E in the garage and JTM Offroad. I will be filming my story soon. Could you please ask Brad If he would be willing to tell his worst off road fail in a video if I challenge him? That would make my day 😁Thanks again John.
@@appleguy1986 Hey John! Any word from Brad on the offroad fail challenge? I'd like to start filming soon and would love the confidence knowing that he will participate. Thanks again John! 😁
@@ProjectDanH Hi Dan, in fact, there is a response. Yesterday, Brad shared with me that he is extremely busy at this time with several overland trips planned and all his Gladiator upgrades going on. I'm a young guys with no knowledge of vehicles and this helped me get to the bolt that holds the springs in place for the hood so I could replace them sadly now I'm stuck because my push bar is just slightly to close for me to pull the header out regardless thanks for the help
Awesome, it looks like you could get into the radiator and transmission cooler easier and a couple other parts taking the header off like that. Thanks for your video Dan
@@ProjectDanH saved our bacon actually! We were buying it, about to close the deal 150 miles from home when the radiator popped. My friend, the seller (who was a legend) and I ended up replacing it in the seller's driveway and we all had a blast and my friend got a great deal
Oh, man... I hope not. I have no idea what clips they are talking about. unless they mean the clip nuts that go on the radiator support to bolt the Efan and the mech fan shroud. Maybe they're the parts I show in this vid??? ua-cam.com/video/wDF50_WNDvg/v-deo.html
Can you change the adjuster screw without taking that whole front Assembly off or can you change the adjuster screw by just taking the headlight out ??
Dan I have a question: I watched your video of your rear glass exchange and window track swap. When I close my drivers side door with the window Down, the glass rattles around inside. It just occurred to me that perhaps it has a rusted end piece and it must be higher up than the retaining screw. Do you think the rattle is because of this? Thanks Very much.
Hey Dan do you have a spare header panel I could buy off you? In July I ran my 98 into a wall and smashed the passenger side fender, bumper cap and header. I work in bethpage.
I just bought an xj and I notice that 5 of the six screws at the top are missing....do you know where i might be able to replacement along with screw anchors??
@@ProjectDanH do you know what they are called exactly? i tried an auto zone, oriellys, and even two dealerships with no luck mayber cause i wasnt saying it right
I thought this was a header/manifold video. Do you know anything about installing a header on a 2001 w the California emissions exhaust with out causing a CEL issue?
I think a 2001 California emissions is the same all across the country. should be the newer style exhaust manifold with the 2 cats by the collector. should be straight forward. 💪
You are correct. 2001 has the same exhaust setup across the US. I live in PA and I need to have my Jeep inspected every year. It’s not an off-road vehicle
I'm having big time issues with pulling the one connection apart. The harness that keeps the panel attached to the Jeep. I pushed the little red thing off, but I can't pull the connection aapart. 97 Jeep XJ. Any suggestions? Thanks.
slide the red clip out and press the black button down hard. You may need to use a lot of strength to separate the connecter if its been attached for 20 years.
@@ProjectDanH copy that. I tried all that. Had to break those attachments. It's fine though. Now on to buying new retaining clips for the headlight harness. Do you know the part number or names for those three different types of retainers clips
Does anyone know the size of those plastic Clíp nuts in the back where the screw go in ? My old panel had them old already and wasn’t tryna take them off look they would brake easily
@@ProjectDanH I am trying to get mys sons XJ ready for everyday driving but time is always limited, it may need a few things, like the rear suspension is bouncy, may need a new gas pump you know how it goes...thanks.
@@hernanagt9734 that's awesome Your son's getting an XJ. The upper rear shock bolts Can be a huge pain make sure you soak em in PB blast ahead of time. If you're dropping the fuel tank anyway I highly recommend using a torch to break the rust bombs to get them out.. also while you're in there it'd be a great idea to give the undercarriage a nice paint job to prevent rust!
Absolutely, However it is recommended that you also add the 2001 rounded fenders. If you install the header only the body lines will not match up. Also the top 2 corner mounts of the header are in different locations. Adding The newer fenders will solve both problems! good luck!
