In San Antonio… wondering what’s the best bamboo that can grow anywhere at least 6 ft tall in a container but in full sun? Is that possible in full sun??
I live in north Texas in Granbury, zone 8. Looking for a backyard screening bamboo. Was looking at Golden Goddess or Fargesia Robusta. Any ideas which would be better? Or a different species all together? Thanks!
I have the clumping variety. I would like to thin it out and spread it out in order to have more of a fence border. If I do this, will it move into the neighbors yard? Also, Is the best time to do this in the fall?
Great information; thanks. I'm looking for a clumping bamboo that grows very tall 30 to 40 feet or higher. I live in east Texas near Jacksonville with iron red clay soil and good irrigation. Can you tell me what variety of clumping bamboo I can use??
DuckGuide Not a problem, I have a video up where you will learn how to rhizome prune. You’ll be able to tell if it is a runner the first time you rhizome prune. The Best Way To Contain Running Bamboo | The Barefooted Gardener ua-cam.com/video/w0RIY-zXJuw/v-deo.html

Yes it will spread into your neighbors yard. Either put in a barrier or be ready for a war with your angry, pissed off neighbors.
great discussion. thanks.
