I’m sharing my personal journey of how I overcame my shopping habits, along with practical tips to help you break the cycle of compulsive buying. I'd say timing is perfect? 😅
Okay, first... that outfit is so perfect for you and you look SO pretty!! And second, thank you for this video. I'm also an influencer. My niche is alternative fashion and mermaid tails, and both are so expensive and take up way too much space. And it's true, you think "well, I'll write it off," and then you're stuck with an army of clothing and tails that are custom made to your body and you can't get rid of them. 😮💨 I love my job, but I feel like I'm drowning in stuff and I HATE that feeling. Thank you for the inspiration. 🖤
Hi Tia. I've been following you since you came in Italy (on and off). I'm not a person of fashion or clothes at all but in your video i've noticed some mechanism that in the past worked inside of me too. We are what we are, we are not the cheap (or expensive) garbage that we buy
Thank you so much for following my journey all these years. I completely agree-and it’s all about understanding ourselves and breaking those unhealthy patterns. Your insight strikes a chord-thank you for sharing!
Ciao Tia, I am very glad that you managed to find a way to balance your relationship with clothes, it's such an important topic for sustainability, from the beginning of the production chain to the end life, and each one of us can make a big difference with our choices!
You know better than others than Marketing just induces that toxic habit intentionally and specifically to the younger population groups. It's very hard to break free from that at a young age though, so congrats.
@@misstiataylor_ I truly hope that, because we have to trigger that change now especially for the good of younger generations like yours. We tried but we've been crushed by previous generations' excesses and abuses, you have to help us, because now we've been getting old. 😅
I love the advice not to shop for an emotion and deal it according ur space. Digitalizing the whole closet makes sense to see what you own and avoid impulsive purchase. Very useful video, thx a lot!
I went though this what they now call 'no buy challenge' years ago, during my high school years, because I noticed I was spending and spending but the joy disappeated quickly every time. After recognizing this pattern, I said to myself I won't be buying anything for three years. When I achieved this goal, I was 19. And so, right after that, because I didn't know what clothes suited me - and what clothes to buy - I went straight to gain knowledge about it from an image consultant, who explained to me what suited my body type and the colors and all of that. I took that as my basis and I started carefully purchasing again taking into account my lifestyle. Gradually I understood what garments would complement me the best and now I have a healthy relationship with shopping. I concede myself something every now and then, which we call statement pieces, but since I know myself inside out I can take a leap of faith and having a shopping adventure without it turning dysfuncional.
I love how you turned a no-buy challenge into a deeper understanding of what works for you and developed a mindful approach to shopping. It’s amazing how transformative this process can be. Thank you for sharing-it’s such a great example of balance and self-awareness!
Hiii Tia! I'm not a shopping addict but I'd say I used to have the opposite problem. I actually kinda overcame it but I still hate buying new stuff and going through the process of trying it on etc.
Hiii Evelyn! That’s so interesting-I love hearing the other side of the coin. Even overcoming the reluctance to shop is a journey in itself! I hear you!
I used to buy a lot of unnecessary low cost make up when I was a student. It was a rough time for me and even just going out to buy cheap stuff made me feel better for few hours. It was also around 2014/2016 and makeup used to be more structured, you felt you need more products. But one day I realized I had lot of bad quality stuff I never used, and all together the cost was important for a student with low income like I was. So I decided to throw everything away and I set myself some rules: 1 item per type of product, no doubles, no palettes but only single eyeshadows I choose (so I realized that I actually need no more then 8 shades), never buy new stuff unless the old one is finished or expired, buy only things that you like to use, even in makeup don't follow trends you don't like or are not made for your skin type (I never liked to countour, glass skin looks bad on me). This way I can invest in fewer better products and I am having fun again with makeup. I keep buying regularly because I do finish what I have and I change what I don't every 2 years or so because they expire, but I don't feel guilty anymore because I feel very conscious of what I do. I think now I spend around 100€/year which I think It's pretty fair for a fullface with good products.
Your story really resonates! It's incredible how setting those rules helped you regain control and find joy in your passion again. I love your approach of quality over quantity-it’s empowering. Thank you for sharing your journey-it’s relatable and inspiring!
Che tematica importante! Non fai più video in cui ci parli di come gli italiani muovono tutte le parti del corpo per parlare e che non facciamo colazione?

Kismet timing because I AM trying to work on impulse control concerning buying, truly the best video to slip into my notifications
indeed! I’m so glad the timing worked out, and I hope the tips in the video help you on your journey☺️☺️☺️

I stopped shopping because the quality of clothing is soooo bad now. I prefer thrifting about 3-4 time's a year for quality clothing.
Same here. I just kept getting disappointment after disappointment so I started looking for good quality clothes on eBay and have found some gems.
Agree! The quality of clothing is so disappointing generally now. Thrifting is a great alternative. Love that approach!

it is but i think the tides are changing... and companies too will be forced to rise to the occasion and actually produce value.

I’m so glad you found it useful and yes, digitalizing my closet has been such a game-changer for me!!
Gym habit is super ok, but beware not to get into dysmorphic body disease, since that's the next risk on the list. 😅
of course😂
Wow super tidy closet!👌
I'm very intentional with it :D

I’m not that too in to shopping 🛍. I like to use my money 💵 on something important.
Focusing on what’s truly important is such a great way to use your resources :)
