When you spray painted the E on that board years ago, didn't they later come back with that same board or similar board with the E already black? I think I remember something like that, but it was many many years ago. Asus has been mostly reliable for me over the years.

performance and competition having them try is awesome! shortages sucks ass though, but I am one of the fortunate ones having all my hardware for MSRP Or less in 2020.
Wish they just made m.2 slot in like PCIe, have them along the bottom of the motherboard where the case IO / Audio normally is. You could simple slot them in (poking out) along the bottom of case where the PSU shroud normally is. Would make maintenance more easy. Sucks having to remove the GPU, then the cover. Really annoying with the none captive screw on the heatsink and on the m.2, especially when/if they fall and roll under the board or some other place.
I only personally wish, in terms of aesthetics, that evga would consider a white out alternative. So like having a Dark at one end, and maybe *Snowblind* for the whiteout alternative. Their build quality has consistently been a strong suit of their motherboards. Just wishing that they were maybe available in additional colors. I know that's unlikely given that as I'm told, Gigabyte's r&d is almost bigger than all of evga.

Ran my X58 Classified on water for 10 years. Legendary board.
I personally like the yellow caps. The Classified name is kind of a throwback anyways so I think it fits with the retro aesthetic.
I really like that board I'm glad they brought the classified back but hopefully there is a ddr4 version otherwise won't even bother trying. At this point in time at least!
They said they don't have plans for z690 with ddr4.
Figured as much, ah well probably better off anyways. Guess I will have to start keeping an eye out for anything I can get my hands on! Cheers👍
Well, I just purchased my new computer to replace a machine that ran for six years and did me well. Since I pulled the trigger and had been waiting for "the next drop" and was hopeful that supply chain issues would resolve over the summer (which of course it didn't) I had to go with getting what I could and waiting on a list.
Since that's done now everything new in vendor pipelines should be released shortly, the supply chain should be slick as oil down a slip'n'slide, and DDR5 should be freely available by February at a reasonable price. Glad I could help. 😉
WOW THE YELLOW CAPS LOOK AWESOME. Jay what are you talking about with "the caps ruin it" you must be crazy they are the star of the board
I have a P55 Classified still. Awesome board; sadly well out of date but still works perfectly. Its been boxed up for a little over 2 years now I guess...maybe 3.
Would LOVE to see a mATX version. ❤
Looks very nice...they need to get onboard with toolless NVME.
Since my build is inspired in yellow color, those yellow caps will look niceeeee, I’m getting one, thanks for the review jay
Love EVGA mobo! I got the z170 itx Stinger paired with 6700K, great combo since 2016, still running in my HTPC.
the yellow caps look really good IMO
The yellow caps looks awesome.
if you're not working at home, consider another amd system with the big boi Rog Xtreme x570 board then upgrade the cpu to a 5800x3d or even a 5900x3d if they make one
unless you want ddr5, which means you're back to square 1
i love pc building
Your comment about the yellow caps remind me of the Mopar people out there who leave those yellow bumper shipping guards on their chargers/challengers. Some people really love their bumper bananas. 😆
For years I've used Asus motherboards and EVGA graphics cards. I'm thinking of trying an EVGA motherboard this time around for 12th gen Intel, depending on the price. I usually get one of Asus' Strix boards for between $300 and $400. If there is an EVGA board in that range I'm definitely going to check it out.
Has anyone heard of any issues with EVGA motherboards? Asus has been mostly reliable for me over the years.
I've got both a Z370 FTW and a Z390 FTW, they're both solid
@@GAMMAXII Thanks for sharing bud.
All I have to say is that I'm so glad I don't care about colors... black what I can, red lights, it is what it is. Just as long as clean wires. I feel like that is a blessing lol
Wow what a beautiful and overkill MOBO!! You forgot the other 2 M.2 shields and the fact that the pcie has extra power from a 6 pin power connector at the bottom of the board. Wish you could review a board we can actually get this is like welcome the imagination land for PC's and heres a bad ass motherboard that you can never have. Thanks man
Thats one funky board !!! I really like the look of it.. very sleek and tidy
performance and competition having them try is awesome! shortages sucks ass though, but I am one of the fortunate ones having all my hardware for MSRP Or less in 2020.
neat board :) as for the caps could always source some black or grey ones that are the same spec and re solder them if you're good at it :)
I have an X58 classified. It's still running to this day.
To each his own. I love the yellow accented caps
7:14 Jay notices a dent on one of the heatsinks. He will never be able to unsee it
Yellow caps are fine ! Actually I like them in comparison to black caps.
I would see if some black shrink tube would fit over the caps. Dunno if it would thermally insulate them too much though..
I like the yellow caps *shrug* could always mask stuff off and spray that area with matte black.
Loving the layout
''Which i always thought was....(thinks stupid AF)....interesting!" LOL i love Jay!
