I've heard some mixed opinions about the added Synthie sounds at 8:15 - 11:00 What do you think?

It's the best thing that could've happened to this song. I hate it isn't in the album.

Been listening to that part over and over for the past couple of days. Album worthy version imo!

I was there at this show and must say, it was this song that i truly spiralled out... especially when the synth part began. It was new to my ears. Really let go @11:48 mark. Was just floored

Spiral Out Guitar Don’t like it. Love the Taurus pedals though.

I think the synth sounds cheesy and cheapens the song. I like the song but it doesn't seem to be a crowd favourite when played live (which is obviously why they are trying new things live). I kind of wish Maynard was involved in the second half of the song rather it being just a instramental. Also wish the guitar was heavier on the volume swells. I wouldn't say this about any other tool song but i don't think they need to spend so long on the build up because the crescendo is not exactly breath taking.

I still prefer Descending to Invincible, it feels more coherent and to the point. They play it a bit slow here and Adam has a few small f-ups... The synth stuff is a nice change up like when they used to jam to the long section on Lateralus. Maybe a bit too loud.
