Toyota should have made a window under the seat for an easier access to that part. I think I have the same issue with mine but I’m going to cut a hole instead under the seat.
Kinda late for this but did you need to remove/ disconnect the ebrake line? I have the same issue p0440 p0446 and don’t want to cut a hole in my back seat.
i have 96 es300 446 code ,the mechanic replaced charcoal canister before checking the tank . I'm thinking of doing this my self he wants to do smoke test now . isn't there a purge valve and vent valve i can test with vacuum hand pump . any info thanks russ
The same exact codes have popped up on my 04 IS300! I already ordered the check valve on ebay for $45 ! I'm also hoping the charcoal canister isn't bad. That thing can go from $300 to $500 dollars. Let's hope this fix it! Good luck on your smog as well lol!
Mr Sausage I have a feeling that this will fix it but idk lol I found a shop that will smoke test it for $75 I think I will just take that route and go from there. If it turns out that it is this valve I might just cut through under the backseat method. The previous owner did the smog so that’s that lol. Good luck to you as well man lmk if this fixes it!

Thanks for the video. My IS300 has 225,000 miles (throwing p0440) and I need to replace this over-fill check valve. Would you recommend dropping the fuel tank and going from underneath? Or cutting the seat and going in from above like this person? ua-cam.com/video/MhW4n9ferxM/v-deo.html&t= Also, can I drain the fuel tank through the drain valve without dropping the exhaust and prop shaft?

should have told them that when they were engineering it
the dumb thing is, they actually did that for the sport-cross, not sure why they didn't on the sedan

I just cut a hole in the back seat. Fixed the issue in and hour.
I love my cars too much to do that. It was easy to drop the tank down a few inches to reach in. Glad my video helped. 👍
@@alphadogs6212 You did it the correct way, and that's how should be done!!
What is the part number for that valve? Thank you in advance.
That Cressida is sick!!
You did the hardest way, there is a cover inside the trunk to do this job
Took me 45 min. Not hard. But nothing is hard for me. But you would know that if you look at my page. Haha.
My mom's car so she wouldn't let me cut the hole. But I like to do things right anyway.
The trunk cover is the canister. Might want to do your homework on this one. No factory cover for the over flow valve that I replaced in the video.

Yeah I just take the one clamp off. Drop the tank down about 2 in. Then I can reach In and change the valve.
How did you come to the conclusion that this was the fix? Did you smoke it?
Hi, I have the same code. I was wondering if you can fix it and what part of California are you in. Thanks. I’m in Long Beach, CA

Es300 is a different system. Check tsb for your problem. There is an updated part.
Hey brother, is this common in ES300's as well? cause my CELight came on after filling up, P0446 code popped up too. Thanks for the vid bro
Maybe. If it doesnt code when full its this. Sounds like your hose by the air box came off or that canister closed valve.
@@alphadogs6212 yea im gonna take a look around at the back canister, alot of ppl are saying the same thing too. Thanks bro
