I watched a few of these old ones from the archives. Its amazing they had about 6 drivers that could all win races and usually that many race leaders too! They seem to want to make F1 boring thesedays. I mean whats with stewards clamping down on anyone that tries anything.
Those were the real F1 days........such tight competition, such drivers........

@TuneViper the video should be labelled as 1985 as ayrton senna was racing for toleman hart in 1984 which was bad! the 1985 lotus-renault was a pretty good car if you look at the results. Ayrton nearly won in monaco in his maiden year with toleman but the race was red flagged and he came 2nd.

1st - Piquet, 2nd - Prost, 3rd - Lauda, 5th - Rosberg, 7th - Senna, and 8th - Mansell. When we have a grid like this again?
never ever, but the grid was very very competetive in the early 90´s too.. but today there's bunch of bankers and teenage mommasboys, they drive the cars like a simulator with dozens of buttons in the steering wheel and constant radio communication to the pits, and also the car is controlled from the pits... WHAT A FUCKING JOKE MODERN F1 IS!

I am glad about things this year but I still dislike the heavy handed stewards. Whats with demoting drivers grid place for attempting to overtake!? Surely that will not lead to good racing. You don't get the all knowing stewards in any other form of motorsport and god help us if we ever do. But yes this year has been great so far. One does feel Bernie will be ready with another baffling decision to put paid to that though ;)
