Sometimes it's repair is extremely cheap
And sometimes it's repair cost becomes higher than it's actual price
So a careful assessment must be done before the repair attempt to see if the repair is beneficial or not

yes, you are right, manufacturer wants to dispose off, but if the repair is cheaper then we can recover it simply. if the repair cost touches to the price of the unit, then it is better to leave it

Thank you sir. I need one of those. But I have dell power supply with three pin DC (positive, neg, sense id) I would like to reuse it to a different project as a power supply.
I can't make it to work. After few sec power supply turns off because of the sense id wire. I added a 230k resistor between sense wire and the positive wire, it doesn't help. Any ideas how to solve this?

Does this power supply have PFC Section?
yes. it has PFC section, it turns when load is connected. because there are 3 optocoupler

yes this glue can be removed by hot air and sometime a small carelessness causes to flyaway the small parts as well

Please reply to my question, my charger were not working so I gave it to a technician and I am so disappointed, because he replaced main capacitor 450v 120uf with a 450v 80uf capacitor and replaced 250v 5A MST fuse with a 10ohm resistor, also he didn't even solder back shielding plate (ground plate).
What should I do now? Can i use this normally??
Bhaiya ghar pe kuch kaam tha to humne welding machine jab chalai ghar ke socket se connect kar ke to Earthing aur phase dono apas me weld ho gye ghar ki wiring me aur mera ASUS laptop ka charger kharab ho gya. Isko kaise thik karu ab ma, mere area me koi bhi laptop ka charger repair nahi karta he😢.
