I just got back from SA. Didn’t spend enough time. I would like to go back. It was wonderful.
Lol she said Atchaar and i got a little teary eyed, awww man our Sister is straight up South African 😂
She’s right though when she said it ain’t for everyone… coz mna, ha a 😂 - miss me
hahahahaha, miss me!
oh my, she hit your spot too I see
Just cos someone/AA said achaar and that makes you teary? What an exaggeration, or should I say a lie.
@@elvinnybonjovi10 my brother/sister , I am about community, Just because you yourself can only conjure negativity doesn't mean some of us can't genuinely be positive and enjoy seeing others finding happiness in the things we love. If seeing positivity is unimaginable to you, that says a lot about you, and i can only feel sorry for you
Hey family thank you for describing the South African people so beautifully. We appreciate you all🤗 In IsiZulu we greet by saying "Sawubona" which is translated as "I see you". Recognition is extremely important here in South Africa, it has always been, whoever you are, wherever you are from as long as you are within the bounds of the South African land, you are seen. And you will always be seen, because you are human and that is just more than enough. Ubuntu goes a long long way. Sending love and light!🤍
She should definitely go check out the Wild Coast Eastern Cape. The nature and the untouched coastline there is beautiful
Oh my...
yeah was about to share the same the Eastern Cape is a great place to check out "Waterfall Bluff" great hiking trails. And just nature really showing off there. Eastern Cape is another great place
You are right. Eastern Cape is such a lovely place
Plus, the fact that in the Eastern Cape is where the British army faced their greatest resistance in all of Africa!!! 'Coincidentally' , it is also refered to locally as the home of the heroes....Mandela, Biko, Sobukwe...and many of the founding fathers of the ANC.
Phily here!!! South Jersey stand up. You are right over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge from Philly. So we sound similar. Love that so many of us are moving and visiting SA. I will be visiting soon. I look forward to meeting up with many of you.
OH wow, nice and yes we will be here awaiting your arrival!
YAH NEH, Beautiful episode , beautiful people
Why thank you
Girrrrl, that natural short hair looks perfect and very Black South African on you. I'm also natural and short and have been for over 10 years now after a traumatic experience with a weave. No more. Anyways, hi American siblings. We're happy to see you home and even happier that you are loving it here. God is great!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Deniseeeeeeee eyyyyyyyyyy glad to know you and hubby made it there blessings
Awesome video, thank you, enjoyed every second.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great vlog ❤. I agree with Denise, our SA brothers and sisters are beautiful and warm hearted 🫶🏽
Yes indeed!
Ah Dee you MUST go to Namibia first! What an incredible country with the most incredible landscape. The beauty is something to behold - its indescribable! Skeleton coast, Swakopmund, and the pelicans in Walvis bay. Its another world with absolutely no words to describe!
Drankesburg in Zulu called "Izintaba zokhahlamba", it is not far from where the Zulus defeated the British army. Mission Impossible was also shot there in 2021. Lovely place
OH wow what a nice and beautiful history
UKhahlamba is where my Hlubi ancestors migrated from in the early 19th century, during the Mfecane migration. God willing, I will visit those divine mountains, and pay my respects..🙏🏾
In the Berg you can still see Bushman caves and the painting they made on the rocks
I remember Denise, she and hubby featured on one of the TRSA's testimonial videos. Side note re. Atchaar: the best and freshest is found from those mamas at the markets or roadside stalls, definitely tastes much better than those canned retail derivatives
Thanks for sharing, noted!
Agree
Beautiful lady she is
lol 😂you guys talking about the Carnivore restaurant has me laughing, I hope people don’t get the idea people in Africa are eating giraffes and zebras etc 😂 ❤ rofl it’s very much a chicken and beef life in most cases!! 😂❤ love these interviews
hahahahaha Very true which is why we made mention of the restaurant first! They also know through the vlogs what's normal here!
There are plenty of beautiful hiking trails not far from Johannesburg Denise can checkout. The best are in the Magalies Region which is about an hour and half from Johannesburg.
1. Dome Pools
2. Castle Gorge
3. Mountain Sanctuary
4. Milorho Lodge
5. Kranskloof
6. Easterkloof
7. Riverside Paradise
8. Hornbill Lodge
9. Hennops River Hike
10. Cradlemoon Hike
Thank you for this new bucket list for her!
Joburg South is beautiful and peaceful indeed, I lived in the south before relocating to the east which is home, I love hennops and the Magalies region. Though in the South there is Klip rivers reserve which is in the south, also suikerbos rand nature reserve 30 minutes from the South. These are great hiking spots and not too far from hiking trails in the west.
Thanks my Mzansi Jones family for handling a conversation with Dee (Thandi).
You are most welcome
Great conversation. Thanks for sharing.
Pap, Boerewors and gravy, now that is South African. ❤
I'm in the North close to Lanseria Airport and we are 100% off grid, I don't miss the loadshedding and the water rationing 😂😂, have a look at Country Gardens Estate
Alright now you found the cheat code lol
Great discussion today I will follow Denise channel 👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿👊🏿
Thank you and as you should! She's awesome
Atchaar is one of the main ingredients in kota
Nice nice.
Atchaar my sister you are a straight South African😂😂😂😂 beautiful ❤
Our beautiful family 😍❤❤❤🌺🌺🌺👋🏾
Why thank you
Great interview, really enjoyed it 👍
Please do NAMIBIA , you will never want to leave Namibia, little bit of people however, but amazingly beautiful and safe country. I am South African due to come back home to SA soon.
Atchaaar❤❤❤❤ yesssssss
hahahaha
You really do good travelling and tourism better than our own agencies are promoting it
hahahaha its a fun time and a fun ride to share
Hello Jones Family channel I just ran across this video among your other wonderful videos of interviewing U.S. citizens So happy to hear a lot of Black Americans are moving to SA besides just visiting God has blessed you all to accomplish it Pls pray🙏🙏🙏 for me that God will bless me to move there as well I don't want to just visit because watching so many videos of ppl moving to SA has motivated & inspired me al the more ❤❤from America ❤❤video
Atchaar👌👌👌👌
I'm in Pretoria glad you enjoy SA. I have been planning of teaching in Asia but im still paying University fees with $300 salary & supporting my family thus i'll appreciate some help moving abroad, it's been my dream. I'm also learning Asian languages
In the ATL but welcome to Mzansi Afrika!
How nice! How long you there?
She must try garlic achaar , it's the best . She will definitely enjoy it .
Wooow this is an amazing video really enjoyed listening w you guys
Glad you enjoyed it
heita Mr Ricky
Hey Hey Hey!
You must try Limpopo province
Noted!
Dee❤❤❤
I noticed a common denominator that the Americans moving over to South Africa, are deeply spiritual.
Whether Christian, or another form of belief, they are God fearing, which is a good thing.
I also admire your tenacity in wanting to make good contributions to South Africa.
Also, I noticed how emotional you are about your homecoming, funny enough, the feeling is mutual for those who understand how deep it is, it's like history is coming full circle.
We are as emotional to see you return, as you are to return.
It's truly moving.
Atchaar from the store is a bit not good maybe it's the preservation. The best is from the market
hahahahaha nice, thanks for this tip
I think it's lack of proper seasoning
Hi there, lovely video. You should try achaar already mixed with garlic. HEAVEN!!!!
Wow, glad you came to Drakensburg…,! It’s the best. Next time come to Clarens and Golden Highlands National Park in the Eastern Free State ❤
😂😂😂 Ricky is so funny.. Hes like ANYBODY ANYBODY 😂😂
hahahaha, fun times good times!
Atchaar is the South African version of Korean Kimchi. My Fav is the Vegetable Carrot achtaar goes very well with a Mutton Curry and Rice.
You know, its amazing how no one ever visits the Easterm Cape! You would think its a small irrelevant province...but you would be wrong!!!
The Eastern Cape is where the British army faced their greatest resistance in all of Africa!!! Filled with monuments of our people's military genius and historical achievements......it is really worthy of its local name "home of the heroes". 'Coincidentally' , it is also the home of Nelson Mandela, the father of black consciousness Steve Bantubonke Biko, the mighty and great Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe...and many of the founding fathers of the ANC.
Atchaar is the best be eat it with amagwinya even pap cabbage
You must try the buffet at The Chef's Boma Indaba Hotel in fourways, they also have a good spread of game meat and very reasonable
Alright now, thanks for this
I would like to challenge Dee to bake amagwinya (fat cakes), or idombolo.
Love it!
Ricky when you go to Carnivore, please try spinash soup, wow.
ok ok ok
Looking forward to you cooking Pap
Chakalaka & atchaar are truly authentic South African delicacies. While chakalaka is a bit more modern, atchaar forms part of the pre democractic age and deeper history of South Africa. It is both a historical and a spiritual experience in my opinion. For anyone who is new to South Africa, some things are basically just surface level experiences, but foods like chakalaka and atchaar can only be appreciated the more you immerse yourself into the richness of South African culture.
Achar is from India picked with curry and spices. Packo brand the best.
Atchar is from Mango
@thoko🤣🤣🤣🤣 say that again. Most of us even make it ourselves at home. Geez!!!
Ewe nhe! ❤❤❤❤
my sister's pronunciation of Gauteng is so spot on, it is even better than some of South Africans
You guys need to try the South African indian food like bunny chow. Also, try Cape Malay cuisine
Making me hungry now❤
Game meat is very expensive and it is not meat that an average household eat and not daily food, we also eat when we go to some restuarant
Hey brother Ricky, can you please put her page in the comments.. i put in her name and a singer keeps coming up😂
It's in the description!
It's "Dennis Williams "
@@fatimawindvoel2253 thank youuu
@THEJONESFAMILYCHANNEL thanks guys.. I found her!😄
I think the is Market for American Soul food in JHB
oh wow
Denise, you like what i like most. Me and you and leave together, sister. Amen
Can single African American women please move to SA in numbers please, we wanna have some nice Afro/American weddings...please Mr Jones, encourage them to come in numbers.
She sounds South African calling atchaar and chakalaka. I dont think we get to understand how warm we are as South Africans...having travelled a bit yoooooh people can be cold out there.
Hey there. Please find a farm owner whom you can discuss the safety concerns of owning a farm in South Africa before buying a farm. I don't want to sound alarmist, but there is a reason why there are so many gated complexes (be it townhouse complexes, golfing estates, nature reserve estates etc) across the country. Crime is real.
Yes I mean you can't just walk around the place like you're in heaven and stuff so yeah we have criminal elements in the country and it's serious
I don't remember Black Americans calling us XENOPHOBIC
Real, we SAns you respect us we love you, our Black Americans sisters and brothers are very humble and respective, are here to help us build this lovely nation of our, we really appreciate them.🇿🇦🇿🇦
😂those ones that normally advocate for crime in SA call us Xenophobic...re tshela thupa!
JHB south is too far from everything, just try West and North. Roodepoort area is the best place to stay in JHB.
Not really it all depends areas like Bassonia, Glenvista, Aspen hills are literally 15 min to JHB and close to all major freeways.
And those baboons in the Drakensberg will make you feel that you are in their home, even in a resort with buildings & stuff, they like walking around scaring people out . I don't like them too 🥺
Yeah no she would not make it at a lion park. Hearing them roar at night, you will wet your pyjamas 😂
oh snap, lol
You've got to try Achaar especially hot 🔥🥵 Achaar...!!!
Mountain lions aren't a thing in SA.
Nice they are a real thing in the states
Serious meat eaters😮😮any vegetarians in South Africa??
Yes ..lots
Not lots, but yea, there are vegetarians and vegans. I'd still argue that it's NOT lots though.
😂😂😂 I've never eaten a Giraffe and Crocodile, where is it sold
Aarcher
Giraffe??? 😢
lol
This be cap
I don't eat achar, and it's smell very bad for me , maybe the vegetable one is better
It also causes armpits to stink 😂😂
You're lying @@sanelemwelase
@@sanelemwelasemaybe it happened to you.😂
Ummm...I didn't really get that feeling from the people in SA. They act just like Americans, maybe a couple of notches better.
ok ok thanks for sharing
Ohhh really? hehehe hhaikhona madoda!
