Writing a heist story sounds like so much fun! I've never thought of how this type of story also tries to trick the reader as well. You've opened my eyes! Thanks for organizing this fun collaboration!
Great video, Nicole! I think the gold nugget of flipping genre conventions to create original heist scenarios is something that can be applied to all genres! Also, I never would've thought of separating the plan from the story. I wrote a mystery project that I shelved and I wrote the mystery solving within the story outline which made it so much harder to spot any plot holes or loopholes. That is a very good piece of advice. Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Nicole this is good information. I’m trying to write a cozy mystery and the crime is a very valuable item but it’s hard to figure out I guess in a way it’s like I need to see through the eyes of the criminal so I think this info could help. When I began writing this knew it would be difficult and I mothers not a lot of robbery cozies. Great video!
Having an outline dedicated for the plan is a huge tip. There is so much underneath the surface that the audience doesn’t see that we have to consider
*SO* much haha! Honestly coming up with the plan was half the effort in the pre-writing stage for me 😂

I heard that in an author interviewer and it totally changed how I wrote my story! :)

Totally agree on flipping genre conventions being applicable to all genres! Thanks for watching ☺️
I don't think I'm smart enough to write a heist book ahaha! But I do love reading/watching them.
LOL I don't know if I am either - it always feels like my head is going to explode 😂 but they're so fun!!
This was so helpful! Heists are super difficult to write. I loved your tips 😊
Haha they are 😅 and I'm so glad!! 😊
I've seen plenty of heist movies but I don't tend to read heist books. They sound so fun to write?
