Born in poor family , we had no money to go to school when I was little. From childhood until 16 I was abused, tortured and suffered so much. When I was 18 I became a refugee. Escaped from home crossed Himalayan snow mountains walked for three full months looking for educational opportunity in India. I have gone through homelessness, begging foods, hungry, slept streets with cows. Finally be able to get into a school started to learn English. Traveling to Europe and United State for more educational opportunities. I met my wonderful wife at Time Square, Manhattan New York. Now we have two beautiful children. I should write a book.
@chonigyalpo427 be very careful who and how you talk to people because there are many people out there who will steal your story or intellectual content. I am just a simple country girl who found this out the hard way. Good Luck. I am about to embark on the journey. God bless You for it sounds like He already has!!
I wish you all the luck and love with your story, may you have much success with what you decide to share with the rest of the world. Just sit down and write it, now, not tomorrow, right this second......even though this was 1 years ago......let me know if you got it done and the title so I can find it and read it. Thank you for sharing.
I had an amazing breakthrough and spiritual awakening experience when I wrote my story down. It was merely for my own pattern recognition not to publish or share. It was buried deep within the bowels of my sub-conscious mind. It truly is healing to release it all from our cells. I am considering making it into several memoirs as it covers many topics and I doubt anyone is going to want to read an autobiography of someone who is not famous anyway. I have applied some of it on various platforms. The day a very distraught woman told me my story helped her make an important decision in her life literally brought me to tears. I hope to inspire others through my words.
Thanks so wonderful that you've already been able to help others with your story! Memoirs are definitely more marketable thank autobiographies for the most people.
Good for you. There is a lot of healing in remembering our lives, the good, as well as the bad, and then releasing it. Your never know who you could help.
There’s so much sadness in my story! However, I’ve done and am continuing the work of healing! ❤️ Overcoming childhood trauma’s such as abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, being pushed out of a second story window.... etc Now, I want to share my story to help others overcome!❤️ Thank you so very much for your advice! I so appreciate your content!🌺🌺🌺
You and I have a lot in common!! I'm starting to write my story and there's a lot of sad moments in mine as well, lot of childhood abuse a lot of trauma domestic violence, losing loved ones.... But also a lot of really beautiful moments. I think I'm ready to tell it
My story also has a lot of sadness and i normally say darkness too, I experienced most of the sadness in adulthood, and I want to share this to empower others that might be in the same kind of boat and heal in the process. I have already scripted and doing a crush course bro help me do this.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am to find you. I am dying to share my story and I recently found out I was born with brain damage that affects me more as an adult now. Great! Makes it more challenging. Through the tears and sadness in most memories, it’s going to free me. I feel it. I only hope it helps someone else.
I have been thinking about writing my story for the past 10 years but I was always blocked by the fear to be not interesting or worth it and where even to start. I had a difficult childhood and growing older, gaining more life experience is urging me to maybe share my story one day and maybe even help inspire maybe just a handful of people. Your tips helped me to sort myself out and start somewhere - 100 moments of my life that i want to share really motivated me to start and I am surprised by the amount of people who may share the same fears and blockers of writing your life story. Now I realized even if I can touch just a single soul and inspire them, i would feel fulfilled and it helps to work through my past. Thank you for sharing this pro tips and your inspiring energy.
I'm glad you mentioned the shameful part, I feel like so much of my life is sad and I've felt too shameful to share, on the other hand I wish I knew more people like me because I would understand what they have gone through and I can help them through it. I had been on the fence about sharing these stories because I'm very sure a lot of people would be upset about me calling them out on how I was treated or shocked I went through so much because I don't appear too but I'm glad you said those stories were worth talking about.
Hey Ashley! You are not alone as much of my life from the time I was born until 33 years old is so full of sadness, trauma, abuse, neglect, regret and shame. God has given me the strength, love, dicipline and courage to turn my life around and I'm so grateful. I would love to tell my story. It has been tugging at me for several years now. I have so much jotted down. If I could only help one person or inspire a light in someone the awful things I went through will have purpose. What I am starting to realize is we should never be afraid to speak up and speak out. We just never know who is meant to be listening. Give it a shot.
My 100 memories quickly turned into 1000! I was so intimidated by writing my memoir, but this got my juices flowing and give me hope thank you❤ Now I feel like I can do it🦸🏿♀️
I came across your video by chance and wow how grateful and excited I am. I am nearing retirement and whilst I don't want to publish a book I want to write a biography of who I am, my life and who I have become in this important phase of my life. This will be left in a special place for my family to read when I am no longer on this earth, so my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will know the real me. Thank you so much I cannot wait to begin xx
At the mere thought of doing this exercise, I began to cry. Convinced that my terribly traumatic childhood would only incite sad and lonely memories. I was able to complete what I thought would be an impossible exercise, in 23 minutes. And I was surprised that many memories were of the ones that carried me through that childhood. Forgotten memories. Good, beautiful memories. They don't seem so insignificant anymore. Thank you for sharing this :)
I completely understand this, I went through a lot of grief and frustration that will forever change my life and thinking about writing had me shut down for almost two years now because I couldn't deal with what I went through and have to live with. I still wrote... But it sorta just in the form of letters and wrote during the event because I was very numb at the time and thinking about telling others brings me a lot of shame. Even thinking about writing about it still makes me start crying because it's not something solvable, as many things in life are not. I just feel like every year is a new type of grief I didn't realize I would have to live with. Sadly my good memories are so rare, but I'm trying hard to improve that and I want that to be my story, not what I carry with me but what I chose to do in my circumstances.
@@knliteraryarts I did it Kelly! it took me a bit to make the time for it and it was a bit surprising. I wrote for 10 mins and took a break. All of the memories were positive. Then I got stuck. I decided a few less joyful moments could get me started again, racing against time, but all of the remaining 20 minutes were consumed by painful memories. The very next day I attended a Health Presentation. The speaker's words spoke to me to this effect: Happiness is fleeting, so catch it while it lasts. I decided I would celebrate every time I wrote through a difficult memory for my book. Yes, I chose the memories that leaped out energetically and will add them when I get stuck, as right now I am on a flow. Such a good, helpful suggestion and much appreciated.
@@debbyblettner408 your experience with the exercise sounds so great! What a great way to keep moving by rewarding yourself for digging into the emotionally difficult memories! Keep the flow going in whatever way you are able to work through it!
Yes, I have done a similar exercise-but not with a specific number. It was a timed exercise-20 minutes to write "life moments" and then go back over the list to see what "scratches" at you. Then use that for a "Free Write" in which first, before picking up your pen, you walk into the moment and use all the senses...what do you see, hear, touch, taste, smell...go through that process 2-3 times, then write the story using first person, present tense.
Thank you so much for this! I have been a writer most of my life but I put it on the back burner when I started working full time. Being quarantined has given me the opportunity to re-explore that side of myself. This is a great start!
I actually have a dedicated notebook where I note down every event from my life either in a single word or a couple of words the moment the memories cross my thoughts then and there, be it in the middle of the night or whenever. I have been doing that for quite a while now and I’ve only come across this video today and I just want to put it out there for aspiring writers just like myself that this practice has been helping me in two ways- 1. I don’t ever have to deal with the frustration of trying to remember something the next day after the memory has completely faded away, & 2. Instead of having to not use a whole section of meticulously written prose when you decide at a later stage that it doesn’t contribute to the story, you’d have already picked the best story events before you started writing. There are tons of events that I noted down rather enthusiastically at the time it came to mind but I’ve had to strike off eventually.
Such a great practice! Even a couple of words can help you pull that memory back up later if you have to revisit it at a later time. So smart! Thank you for sharing.
Kelly thank you for all the help you have given to me. I am as a joke 27 just turn it around and you will know how many years of mountains and valleys I have gone through. People are always telling me I should write my life story, but to me it's just life. We laugh and we cry, but I didn't know where or how to start. So thank you for your help.
Hi I’ve just found you I was looking for help as to how to write my story. I’m 74 and I’m an energy healer, several people have said I should write my story, my answer until recently was why would people want to read this. Now I realise that you know even if it helps one person then I’ve helped one person. Some years ago I started my healing journey and I’m so grateful to have survived and so much more.
I understand that this video was two years ago, but after watching it today, I felt encouraged and confident to write my life story. The 100 points memoir helped a lot. Thank you so very much for these hints. Be blessed💕
Hey Kelly. I haven't ever even considered most of this. I started writing a book about my life approximately 12 years ago. Its one of those things that I have always felt pulled to do, like I have so much to say. I've put this "book" back on the shelf so many times. Many things had happened. Struggling with addiction, losing my children, finding sobriety, reuniting with my children, losing my husband to an overdose(my kids father) So many things that now looking back, would probably help so many people. I've decided to really buckle down and work on this and have found your videos and advice absolutely invaluable. Thank you so very much!!
Thanks for sharing. You have such an important message to give to the world, and tremendous wisdom! We are so thrilled to hear that the videos have been valuable and cannot wait to hear how your writing journey continues.
OMG!! This writing exercise reminds me of being in the 6th grade and my English teacher would give a "Daily Sentence" and the class had to write a story based on the theme of the Daily Sentence. It was such a fun writing exercise. This has been so great for helping me tap into the ol' memory vault. Thanks so much!
This is exactly what I was looking for and needed, so much thanks! Since I was a teen, I've been told by my friends to write my story. My sons have been encouraging me to do the same for years. This extra time that many of us have just feels like an opportunity. You are an excellent instructor and your excitement is contagious. Thanks again, Angie
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so happy to help along your writing journey. What a great outlook you have for using this crazy time for something special for you and inspiring to others. Please keep us updated on how your story comes along!
This exercise is sorta therapeutic! Even if I wasn't interested in writing a book, I would do this exercise simply because it's relaxing and nostalgic.
I'm a screenwriter(not a pro but for the past three years)and this is also helpful for that as well. But aside that I've wanted to write a memoir for several years and have procrastinated far too long. So now I feel it's time. This is a great exercise for whatever you're writing. Thank you.
I'm still laughing at the egg story when you said, "That didn't go so well." Thank you for this tip. I'm going to do it today! Bless you for all the great information you share so generously in these videos!
Your Elvis memory reminded me of not Ritchie Valens obsession at 8 yrs old. But it was really a Lou Diamond Phillips obsession, & La Bamba. Though I do quite enjoy Ritchie. It lead me to learn my hispanic grandfathers second wife actually knew him, grew up in the same town and dated his cousin! I also followed LDP on Twitter and he has responded to me multiple times which really gave me serious butterflies!
This is such a great idea. All these memories are in my head and I’m such a procrastinator and I get distracted easily so if I set the timer I won’t be overwhelmed with writing the whole book just those key memories and go from there! Thnx for this! Truly awesome!
Thank you for this video, I have been procrastinating about this journey of writing my book I have started a thousand times but never gone through. This video along gave me no only the confidence but multiple book ideas 💡
That's so great to hear, Andrea! Getting started can be a little daunting, but exercises like these can really help with getting the creativity flowing.
Thank you for this video. Wonderful information. I can’t wait to get started writing my 100 moments. What I’m currently working on is a story about my grandmother based upon the multitudes of cassette tapes of all of her old stories she left me at my request. She had such and inquisitive and curious life being born in 1901. I can apply this as well to what I’m working on about her.
This exercise helped me realize that I need to slightly shift the focus of my memoir. I was originally going to just write about being transgender, but I realized through writing this list that my journey of self-discovery in gender identity, sexuality, and even religious faith are all intertwined, and to try and separate them just doesn't do them justice. So I suppose I should say thank you! Thank you for helping me realize what my memoir is truly about!
My name is Willie Bailey. My wife saw your UA-cam and shared it with me . I'm so inspired and motivated. I'm been procrastinating for a long time. Thank you . 😊😊
Thank you, Kelly, for such a helpful exercise! I tried the '100 Moments Exercise' and realized there are so many memories I hadn’t thought of as significant, but writing them down brought up strong emotions. Writing by hand really helped me connect more deeply with moments from my past. This exercise not only sparked forgotten memories but also clarified the stories I want to tell. It felt like unlocking a treasure chest of my own life! I’m looking forward to learning more exercises like this from you. Thank you for sharing and inspiring us to write!
I get the fact not everything is for everyone, but this video does NOT deserve a thumbs down, in any way, shape or form. It is SO helpful, and has given me the exact tool I’ve been looking for to start writing my story. I Thank you with all my heart for this gift.
I'm so glad to hear that the exercise is bringing up some memories for you. These will be important to your story whether you use them all or not. Congrats on getting through the process of discovery!
I was transitioning from third to fourth grade, and that summer was quite long, not only because of the military coup but also because of the events that surrounded me during it. I had decided during that vacation to start reading, so I borrowed a book from my friend Ahmed Weld Salk. However, my laziness prevented me from reading more than a couple of pages, and instead, I spent most of the day playing football, a sport I wasn't particularly good at, as we had no other plans at the time. Despite my lack of skill, I managed to score a goal for my team, beat the other team, and win the cup, which was a can of concentrated milk. We celebrated by taking turns sipping the drops of "Gloria"-the "sweetness" of our victory.
I did this exercise just now. It took me an hour. It was hard to think of what to write, but I did it. I know it's stream of consciousness, but I still got hung up on thinking of what to write. I'm glad I did it, though. It sure stirred up some memories, both good and bad, and sure enough, there was some stuff I was hesitant to write. Thank you for this video! I definitely want to write something. Writing a memoir is something I want to do, among other things. It's hard to write, but I think I am enjoying the struggle of turning the gears in my brain to get thoughts out and onto paper. And I do like writing with pen and paper. Exercises like this are great!
Kelly, thank you so much for this exercise. While watching your video I laughed, shook my head in agreement and I also broke down and cried like a child. Only recently have I become brave enough to follow through on what my soul has been nudging me to do for over 10 years now. I stumbled upon your video as i practice with personal growth and my writing everyday. Your energy was the source of magic for me to push out that part of my story that i have been holding onto. Again, sincerely grateful for finding your videos and energy that you are sharing with those of us out here with a desire to share our story.
Ahh, thank you so much for your kind comments. I'm so happy to help in any way that I can! It's great to hear that you're listening to the calling within to get your story down on the page. This exercise can really stir up some strong emotions and help unlock some good content. Let us know how your writing journey continues!
Today I learned or remembered that I am one year older than I thought I was. I had always kept a journal, but NOW I feel that I have less time. Much to do. Thanks for getting me started. 😊
You're wonderful Kelly. I'm 21, who had to grow up fast and got hit with life at a young age. I've felt compelled to share my story with the world and this video got my excited for it.
Thank you so much! I found your video on Omega Institute's course series. I just watched it and I am grateful I found it. For years I have been thinking about where to start. There are so many "moments" in my head that overwhelm me and I haven't known where to start so those moments just swirl around like a carnival in my head! As the years have gone by, the carnival has grown noisier and more urgent. Just hearing about this exercise has given me motivation to just start! Thank you!
My earliest memory was when I was a baby, and in this carrier, being carried up these steps towards this housing estate, and me then being left on my back in this stranger's house. Remember wondering where my mum had gone. Probably crying no doubt. It was here where I learnt to suck my finger when I was in need of her at that time. I continued on sucking my finger often for many years after. I told my mum about this 1st memory of mine way later, and she could not believe I'd remembered that, and was really worried about me thinking she a bad mother, which I obviously didn't think. She came back later on and everything was OK again. Tough love. Alexa says its not possible for you to remember being a baby. But I can. It will be difficult to limit my masterpiece story to 100 memories, with all I remember, but will try.
@@knliteraryarts Yh, I think my book could be very interesting and of some importance. It sounds like the whole thing is elaborate claims and lies, when it is not. My life events are way too weird and crazy. All these connections to these news events, celebrities and things. Be interesting to test reader's faith in the Memoir concept. I've managed to have an event happen to me which has never happened on Earth before, and won't ever happen on Earth to anyone again. I therefore feel I have to write about it, so it is known about. I need people's feedback on their feelings on if they think it is all true or not etc. Should be a bestselling book really. Certainly deserves to be. Maybe you can help with all this once it's been written.
Im totally ignorant to writing a book but i have a very interesting life and story. Im 46 now and its time to take these steps. You are amazing and absolutely gorgeous. Blessed.
This is very helpful. I am already almost very sure of what I want to put down. I started writing my story about 7 years ago, stopped at some point and even lost it to my old computer. I am happy to restart using your helpful tips. Thanks a million.
Thanks for this. Yes, I was scared to start, but I found this video after I'd started writing scene ideas onto sticky notes. This just pushed me into high gear by making it faster and less labored. The two step process - listing, then picking some to flesh out - might be enough to get me unstuck.
Oh Kelly! Thanks for your enthusiasm and encouragement! I have a beautiful story that has been percolating for 20 years now. I have been chastising myself that I REALLY need to get it out, and my adult children have been saying "C'mon Ma!! Just do it, bloody"!! I have reams of memories from my journaling of 33 years!! It's a minefield. I thought perhaps I should try a visual/audiobook. Started with that a few weeks back, and last night recorded version 4! Hahahaha! After listening to it, I was bored feeling, "you know what, maybe I just let this be, maybe this story doesn't want to be shared". I thought of that movie with Johnny Depp, I think, where he had writer's block??? This must be what it feels like. Your words about the story wanting to be shared struck a deep chord in me, this video the first thing I see when I get onto my laptop. I KNOW my story should be shared, there are some truly phenomenal and inspiring moments that many have said opened their awareness to the "more" there is in life. I guess it's the presentation that is keeping me in a loop of not moving forward as much as I would like. Book? Audio? Video? I am going to give this great 100 moments exercise a go and trust the mechanics will fall into place. Thank you!!
Hi Kelly! This was such a great exercise idea!! I’ve been struggling to write my first novel but the tips you give is extremely helpful for me. Thanks so muchQQ❤❤❤
Hello 😊 This is just the thing I needed to get myself back on track with respect to writing. I used to write regularly in my teens and undergrad days - mostly it was daily journaling, and sometimes stories, poems, short scribbled lines. But my early 20s saw me putting a stop to writing - higher education, job search, settling in - all of that caused me to stash my creative self on a high shelf. In my late 20s now, and I realize that I am not as happy as I used to be when I used to write. And this video of yours is just the ladder I needed to reach back up to the high shelves, dust my creativity and set paper to fire with the pen! Would be lovely if I get to know of a series of such videos of yours helping writers step by step.
Thank you so much for this. I have been putting this ( writing my life story), off for years. Today is the day to start. I am 75 years old.it is Never too late, is it? I have written poetry for years, and written leaving poetry for workmates etc. I wrote my mother's eulogy and was soundly congratukated. It was the hardest writing I have even done because my mother and I were not friends. My life was beset with emotional abuse ( as my mother had a Narcissistic personality style). I was lucky because I had school teachers who believed in me and I hung onto those moments and opinions that counteracted my mother's assessment of me.This is going to be quite hard because those moments are going to come up again, but I have all things ready to begin.Thank you for this video.
Kelly, I am in a rebranding phase with my business. My love for history and design has inspired me to develop a specific niche with my interior design service by incorporating a client's biography with their living space. In doing so, I thought it best to start writing my own autobiography. I am thrilled to start my first steps with this exersice you are sharing. Thanks for the video!!!
Thank you. I've been asked to write a short story about my life to be put in a newsletter for a Wesleyan church community and I am kind of lost and nervous but I know me story can help people it will have so much hope in it I wish I could just tell it to somebody and have somebody write it for me but I'm trying this video is helpful 🙃
up until this moment ive only thought about writing my life story but your excitement about writiing really pumped me up and im going to start my list of 100 memories now. forgive me but i dont remember hearing your name
Everything that you explained is what I have been wanted to know. I am very excited to start. Thank you for your experience and time to share your professional and expertise.
As I was writing my memories I began to see the importance of it, not to mention some of the memories brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for this exercise!
Thanks for sharing. This is such a powerful exercise! I'm so glad that the importance of those memories found their way to you, and hopefully sparked some great writing!
kn literary I am so glad I found your page! I’ve been playing with the idea of writing a memoir for a few years now, and I’ve slowly taken some steps, but not nearly as many as I did last night, and I feel so much better because I have a little bit of a plan thanks to your advice! I ordered your book last night! I can’t wait to get it and look forward to your videos 🤗
omg!!! I'm so happy that I ran across this video! I always love writing since I was little and many people, now when I tell them part of my life story immediately tell me my life reminds them of a lifetime movie and I should write a book. I begin to start back writing last year, you can say for a while I lost my writing mojo due to life curveballs however I'm ready to share with the world my life story. I'm so grateful that you posted an exercise to help me get started I believe this exercise is going to help me jumpstart an amazing book.
I'm still 32 but I feel like I need to write part I of my life and I came across this beautiful 100 Moments technique. I've already started jotting down moments.
Talking eye to eye brings the listener very close to the listener. These are the things I learned from you. This is called life. i'll write this moment.
I just tried this exercise and I had so much fun! I went for the full 30 minutes but when I got to the end I kept thinking of memories that I wanted to add 😅😅
You’re energy is wonderful and your advice is clear and simple. Thank you for this blessing of helpful information. 🙏🏽💖😇 You’re an angel in the form of an editor!
I'm so happy I stumbled upon this video. I've been wanting to write my story. I have many many pages of journals, just not sure how to put it all together. There is still so much more i want to share and this exercise might help me write about things I may have missed or forgot about. thank you .
I got a wee bit cocky thinking this would be super easy and fun. I did it first thing in the morning and the moment I set the timer my brain started fumbling for moments - I even had to add on 5 minutes to get 100 moments written down. However, throughout the day rich memories and moments kept surfacing and I was able to jot those down. I'm looking forward to doing this exercise again.
Djuna, we are so glad that you got your 100 moments down! The process is different for everyone, so adding time is great and important. Just allowing those memories to flow is the inspiring part of the exercise and memoir itself! We really encourage everyone to do the this multiple times because as you see, the exercise helps begin the memory flow! And recording those moments that come to mind will really kick-start the writing process.
Great advice, I’m just trying to start an autobiography, and this is very helpful. I’m 77 and feel God has laid it in my heart to write. So hear goes please keep advising us Carol N.I.
Thanks %Jelly, I have a burning desire to write a book about my life experience, today I landed in this site and the video has removed the curtains that was blocking the process. Am starting today. Thanks and God bless you. I love the confidence I see as 6ou explain.

Thank you. Awesome video and easy start. I always wanted to write books specially my own life story. I love to write story about my mum who is the most extraordinary person I ever know. May be about mum and me. I came from a long way and I have many true stories that can really inspire people. Starting from my childhood, teens, and adulthood and great smuggle from border to border with no money and passport just to survive. I'm going to start using your practice. I'm not good at typing but I always write in journal with my hand. I'm Journaling for decades. Love to hear some words of encouragement to write books with success. Thank you again
I am so glad I found you here… I am 36 and survive a crazy car crash and it’s going to be almost a year ago I survive a AAA .. thanks for making this video, I can really used it to tell my story
Hi! I'm going to use this exercise a bit differently... I'm preparing to build an outline for my first memoir, and this exercise will be perfect to get those scene ideas out of me that I plan to put in there. Thank you! 😁 With love and support from Toronto, Canada 💕
Oh my…. Your 100 moment exercises helped me remember that there are countless genuine simple moments in my life that became pivotal and detrimental to my being. Thank you for sharing your exercises
I'm going to try this exercise I have No writing experience I know that I have a story to tell and I know that it's going to help many people wish me luck thank you for taking the fear out of it you are so nice
Thank you so much for sharing this video! I started writing a book a few years ago and stopped and got discouraged when the book/story wasn't ending like I had hoped! This will definitely help open me and and get the juices back flowing again! Thank you❤
I have been told so many, many times that I should write a book because of my adventures. Completely unique with all my travels. Always with a boat load of humor i have noticed that i van make people laugh everywhere i go but its never scripted. Wouldnt have a vlue how to translate into a coherent story
This is a common problem! Working with a book coach or a collaborative writer can help you take all of the little stories and turn them into a proper book. We have book outline templates that might be helpful for you as well: resources.knliterary.com/3-Classic-Book-Outlines
I started writing my life story a few weeks ago I have struggled on continuing it because I feel like I won’t be able to make a whole book out of it. Also I have always had a learning disability in school so anything like this to me is terrifying. Thanks for the video you seem like a very sweet person!
Thanks so much for watching, Devon! Hopefully this video helped you out. Check out more videos to find other exercises or, better yet, book a call with us at knliterary.com. We'd be happy to help you on your journey!
listening to you today has made me realise that l cannot think of one happy memory.l couldn't write down 100 happy memories, because my life has been filled with sadness. l have tears in my eyes and l know that to write down my memories would be too traumatic. So maybe that exercise isn't for me But, l also know that my story should told.
Jan, maybe the exercise doesn't have to be about happy moments. And the number doesn't have to be 100! Maybe you could start with writing just 10 memories or events. Use our suggestions more as a guide instead of the rule. Even just doing some free writing with absolutely no structure could dig things up and pull some pieces together. It's more about getting pen on page and just writing. Hope this helps!
This is my first step in figuring out how to structure ideas and memories, as well as my time. All good ideas that I can manage as a place to start, thank you.

Agreed. Thank you for sharing!

Can we able to talk or some way to connect
I love people who respect life
@chonigyalpo427 be very careful who and how you talk to people because there are many people out there who will steal your story or intellectual content. I am just a simple country girl who found this out the hard way. Good Luck. I am about to embark on the journey. God bless You for it sounds like He already has!!
PLEASE write your book! I want to read this incredible love story of perseverance and heroics!!
Perfect. Please, write a book
I'm 79 years old. I loved your video. I'm starting the exercise right now.
I wish you all the luck and love with your story, may you have much success with what you decide to share with the rest of the world. Just sit down and write it, now, not tomorrow, right this second......even though this was 1 years ago......let me know if you got it done and the title so I can find it and read it. Thank you for sharing.
And now you are 80 so I hope you did it!!!
❤️ Overcoming childhood trauma’s such as abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, being pushed out of a second story window.... etc
Now, I want to share my story to help others overcome!❤️
Thank you so very much for your advice! I so appreciate your content!🌺🌺🌺
Thank you so much for watching the video ❤️ I wish you all the best going forward ❤️
Can u pls share ur story with me
Wow 🤩 I’m going through the same!! Trying to figure out where to start etc…. Smh 🤦♀️
And that's why we write! To help others and to help ourselves work through personal challenges.
it helps me similarly finding out i am autistic and making sense of my whole life not knowing i was struggling with autism.
I am so happy to get to see your video
Your give me a good idea
How to wirte my on story about me we I was 13 year old and I was ripe by a man
I have been thinking about writing my story for the past 10 years but I was always blocked by the fear to be not interesting or worth it and where even to start.
💜 You are not alone Ashley. Sharing your story can help others as well as promote your own healing.
I was so intimidated by writing my memoir, but this got my juices flowing and give me hope
thank you❤
Now I feel like I can do it🦸🏿♀️
Yes, you can! Wishing you all the best! 💕
What a wonderful project that will be cherished by your family!
That is my goal as well.❤️
At the mere thought of doing this exercise, I began to cry.
Kelly, I am addicted to your enthusiasm. Yes, I will do the 100 Moment Exercise with joy!
Debby, we are so happy you are finding the videos encouraging! The exercise is SUPER fun and reflective! Let us know how it goes!
@@knliteraryarts Will do Kelly. Now that I have started and seen the results, I will see it through, no matter what it takes. Thanks so much.
I wrote in my journal from 1-100. I actually had a memory come up from when I was four years old, it works, thank you.
Amazing! Good work! Thank you for sharing your experience. 💖
You are so welcome. This quarantine time can really be used to refocus! I'm glad this has inspired you to spark that writing fire again.
I actually have a dedicated notebook where I note down every event from my life either in a single word or a couple of words the moment the memories cross my thoughts then and there, be it in the middle of the night or whenever. I have been doing that for quite a while now and I’ve only come across this video today and I just want to put it out there for aspiring writers just like myself that this practice has been helping me in two ways-
1. I don’t ever have to deal with the frustration of trying to remember something the next day after the memory has completely faded away, &
Thanks you for sharing! We're glad you're feeling inspired to write your story.
I've listened to this twice. Making meaning = writing stories
This exercise is so wonderful. Thank you so much for bringing your light to UA-cam. This helped me so much.
This exercise is sorta therapeutic! Even if I wasn't interested in writing a book, I would do this exercise simply because it's relaxing and nostalgic.
We're so glad you enjoyed it! It absolutely can be therapeutic.
I'm a screenwriter(not a pro but for the past three years)and this is also helpful for that as well. But aside that I've wanted to write a memoir for several years and have procrastinated far too long. So now I feel it's time. This is a great exercise for whatever you're writing. Thank you.
Thanks for commenting!
Have you started??
@@lo7892 I have. Yes
I'm still laughing at the egg story when you said, "That didn't go so well." Thank you for this tip. I'm going to do it today! Bless you for all the great information you share so generously in these videos!
John, we hope you enjoy doing the exercise! Its a laugh and cry and SUPER reflective experience. Let us know how it goes! Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for sharing. What a crazy connection you ended up finding. That's great!
This is such a great idea. All these memories are in my head and I’m such a procrastinator and I get distracted easily so if I set the timer I won’t be overwhelmed with writing the whole book just those key memories and go from there! Thnx for this! Truly awesome!
So glad it was helpful for you! You can do this!
This sounds like such a great story to tell! I'm so glad the exercise was helpful.
Send me a copy when its done ur so lucky to have her tapes! Best writing wishes
Is there an update on your grandma's story? It sounds so interesting would love to proof read anything youve written....
I'm doing the same but it's about my mom.
You're very welcome, Timothy! Wishing you all the best on your writing journey!
My name is Willie Bailey. My wife saw your UA-cam and shared it with me . I'm so inspired and motivated. I'm been procrastinating for a long time. Thank you . 😊😊
Thank you for commenting! We're so glad to inspire and motivate you.
I'm so glad it was helpful for you!!
I get the fact not everything is for everyone, but this video does NOT deserve a thumbs down, in any way, shape or form. It is SO helpful, and has given me the exact tool I’ve been looking for to start writing my story. I Thank you with all my heart for this gift.
Thanks so much for watching. We're glad the video was helpful! Best of luck on your writing journey.
I have started my 100 memory list. Its already gotten emorional .. bringing out out more memories deep inside forgotten
I'm so glad to hear that the exercise is bringing up some memories for you. These will be important to your story whether you use them all or not. Congrats on getting through the process of discovery!
Thank you for helping me get started. I survived a ruptured brain aneurysm. After brain surgery I remembered so much about my life.
Thank you for sharing! We're so glad this is helping you get started with telling your story.
Thank you for sharing.
That's wonderful! We're so glad you took this first step toward a memoir!

We're so glad to help you take your first steps toward telling your story.
You're wonderful Kelly. I'm 21, who had to grow up fast and got hit with life at a young age. I've felt compelled to share my story with the world and this video got my excited for it.
Wishing you all the best on your writing journey 💕
Thank you so much! I found your video on Omega Institute's course series. I just watched it and I am grateful I found it. For years I have been thinking about where to start. There are so many "moments" in my head that overwhelm me and I haven't known where to start so those moments just swirl around like a carnival in my head! As the years have gone by, the carnival has grown noisier and more urgent. Just hearing about this exercise has given me motivation to just start! Thank you!
We're so glad it was helpful! Happy writing!✏️
@@knliteraryarts thanks I want to write a memoir or autobiography about being prematurely born kid growing up with a Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH)
100 is just a starting point to help you get going. It sounds like you remember a LOT!
I have been thinking about writing my story for the past 2 years . I love your video, and I am starting the exercise right now
Wonderful! Happy writing!

Thanks for this. Yes, I was scared to start, but I found this video after I'd started writing scene ideas onto sticky notes. This just pushed me into high gear by making it faster and less labored. The two step process - listing, then picking some to flesh out - might be enough to get me unstuck.
Thank you for these tips on finding a Literary Agent. As others have said your enthusiasm is contagious! You are keeping us on target!
You're so welcome!
Hi Saheli! Wishing you all the best on your writing journey 💕 I encourage you to visit our blog to help you along the way! knliterary.com/blog
Thank you for sharing. It is definitely never too late to tell your story.

Writing a memoir is a months-long journaling session. Just saved nearly twelve minutes of my life that I can devote to my memoir.
Thanks for commenting!!
Thank you so much for sharing this video! I started writing a book a few years ago and stopped and got discouraged when the book/story wasn't ending like I had hoped! This will definitely help open me and and get the juices back flowing again! Thank you❤
LaTasha, I hope your "juices" flow strong! Keep me posted on your progress.
I am starting this exercise while listening to you. I hope this will help me on my journey of writing. Thank you. Happy New year
simplicity, my mind doesn't always work this way so thank you 🙌
It was very helpful it helped get things started I didn't know where to begin
Wow..I’m so glad I got this video. I don’t know what to begin and no finally found you. Amazing.
This exercise is a great was to get started! Happy writing!
Thank you for that simple outline to start to writing my life story. Think of those things that was apart of my life 😊❤
😊❤
You are so welcome!
kelly this was very useful to me and thanks for the 100-moment exercise.
I'm so happy I found you. These videos are exactly what I needed to continue. Thank you for doing g this for us I am truly grateful
So glad these videos are helping you!
This is my first step in figuring out how to structure ideas and memories, as well as my time. All good ideas that I can manage as a place to start, thank you.
I am determined to start writing my story this year. What a great idea!
You can do it!
I was sceptical but you won me over. I shall definitely have a go today! I am nearly 75 so I need to get on with it. Thankyou
Thank you for watching, Elisabeth! You are never too old to write your life story! Wishing you all the best ❤
What a great exercise! I never thought about this before but it makes perfect sense! About to get started today! Thanks!
Yay! Wishing you all the best! --ayesha
