  • The Disney Cruise Line set sail in 1998, and over 25 years they’ve become a solid presence in the cruise industry. In this video, I take a look at the evolution of Disney Cruises. I’m experimenting with shorter videos, so hopefully you like it!

I will never understand the concept of spending all this money to take my family on a Disney cruise and then putting my kid in essentially what is daycare all week. Just take an adults only cruise at that point.

The kids clubs are a choice. You don’t have to send your kids there. There are plenty of things to do for families.

The kids clubs were my favorite part of the cruises tbh. They are really quite fun.

TBH, as a kid that was what made these cruises look cool to me. Being able to have an independent Disney experience with just other kids instead of it being dictated by my parents and different-aged sibling sounded so cool.
I know it’s advertised as a perk for the adults, but the advertised it as a fun independent experience for kids too and it kind of worked. 😂

Maybe the parents want to have one day alone or maybe want their kids to socialize

Oooh this scratches my brain. It’s so interesting to see how similar yet completely different the guiding ideas and specific attractions/experiences behind cruises compared to physical parks

I went on the Disney dream in may of 2022. I went with my Disney college program friends, both were over 21. I was 20 at the time so it was SUPER awkward to be in lingo of not being able to get into the teens club but also not able to drink on the ship. It’s definitely geared more towards families, kids, or maybe older Disney fans/ elders who can really appreciate that activities on board start and end quite early. Like before 10.

I was so lucky as a child to go on many family trips, one of them being a Disney Cruise. Sadly, I don’t remember much of what happened. All I know is that I ate pillow chocolates wrapped in the Dwarves faces, danced with Disney characters on the top of the ship, saw a puppeteer with a pig puppet and little golden Mickey ear confetti rained down, and was dropped off a daycare from one afternoon until the early evening when it was time for dinner. I remember having fun at the daycare, but I was about 6-7, so I kind of wanted to hang out with my parents still.

I went on my first (and only) Disney cruise last year. It was the wish and I had an amazing experience. I would like to add that the wishes game is very similar to the others. You point your phone at pictures that then turn into screens. Some of the pictures on the walls have mini games BUT the cool thing about it is that the finale of the phone game is a live show. So anyone who played the game would be invited to this room where you need to defeat the enemy together and then Mickey and Minnie come out to celebrate with everyone!

I’ve been cruising on Disney Cruises since I was 12 years old. And I love it so much, I don’t want to cruise on any other cruise line. Now that I’m an adult, I still love going. Palo is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to ever. I will only cruise Disney.

My older sister worked customer service for cruises - booking tickets and getting complained at. She hated it, I can’t imagine having to organize all this other stuff on top of Getting Your Guests On the Boat 😵‍💫

loved this video, it made me want to go on one, but you made a really good point at the end. i’m not really into the high energy, meeting the characters vibe either so it might not be worth it like you said lol. idk tho i might just go so i could go to that haunted mansion themed lounge that looked so cool 😂

I like the idea of being on a big boat with nice food, nice views, maybe a theater i can go to at night and a pool. Some dancing? But mostly my idea of a vacation is enjoying moderate quiet, pretty views, laying around. Cruises seem a bit too sociable to me. I want strangers in limited amounts XD

Yes I have questions haha. Are they very high energy? Which is your favorite ship? What has been your favorite sailing you’ve been on?

    • @imaginefun13
      @imaginefun13 8 місяців тому

@@sarah_serif High energy 🤔 Hard to say. You can probably find some "Navigators" online that show all the daily events, crafts, shows, etc. There is ALWAYS something happening. And of course the cast members exude the typical Disney magic. I'm super introverted, but because I enjoy everything Disney, I have a really good time on these cruises. The only thing I could say for sure are super high energy are the shows that happen on the sun deck. Always over-the-top and a bit cringey. And some of the stage shows can also be cringey. But overall I have never been on a Disney cruise and thought it was a waste of time.
Favorite ship would be the Fantasy. Favorite sailing....it's always nice to go on the holiday cruises. So they have "Halloween on the High Seas" and also winter holiday cruises. It's just super cool to see everything decked out and usually the events/crafts/characters are also matching the holiday theming.
Also, any itenerary that includes Castaway Cay is a must! Really nice to be able to enjoy a Caribbean beach without people walking around trying to sell you bracelets and junk 😂

I'm about to write a comment complimenting the video, but asking why you didn't have anything to say about Covid's effect on Disney Cruises, or cover any major controversies.
Then, as I'm about to press the button to leave a comment, you point out that you wanted to make a shorter video, and not let it get away from you like the last one.
That has to be the fastest reply I've ever gotten from a UA-camr; I hadn't even started writing the comment.

As of may 2022 I had to send in a copy/ pic of my vaccination card and have it with me and take a covid test before boarding. We also had no character physical interactions. They were still very thorough even though Disney world at the time had gotten rid of all masks/ covid precautions.

Just wanted to add as my personal experience, as I was shocked they still had covid protocols when the parks were basically free range
