I've done it a few times and always enjoy myself. I travel solo just to get away from work. BTW I live about 20 minutes south of the port. That makes it very easy 😊
That’s so neat. I’m intrigued that you go solo. I don’t know that I’ve ever even gone out to eat solo. I’m going to put that on my “to do” list. I think it’s great that you can cruise solo.
Freeport is an industrial port, we purchased a day trip to a resort 5-6 miles away. Spent the day on the beach, hammocks in the shade, fabulous lunch & then returned to the ship for dinner. I recommend taking advantage of resort passes!!
That sounds great!! I actually did this exact same cruise in December too (there’s a separate video) and the shops in port were open because there was a much larger Carnival ship there that day too! Good to know about the resorts, thanks!
This is a great review. Sometimes I watch reviews and am like.... How could someone be unhappy on a cruise? And I feel like this review is more from the "average person's POV" which I really appreciate. Thank you! I'm definitely sold and am planning on scheduling one soon
Thank you so much!! And I totally agree- I feel like some people are just trying to find something to complain about! I truly had a great time and I’d do it again in a heartbeat! Enjoy your trip!
My fiance and I are going in Feb. We got the heroes deal which is nice. We just paid port fees so far. Thank you for the video. This is our first cruise and I hope we enjoy it!
Thanks for starting this video at the Margaritaville Resort! As a British cruiser, I don't know much about this company, but the resort looks really cool! The product that they're offering on Islander looks really strong - I'd love to give that a try!
Thanks for the info! I've booked a family trip for FEB including a couple of rooms. Just a quicky get away to Freeport for the day. I saw some negative reviews but for 49.99 each, you can't beat that price, and your review put my mind at ease.
Just booked a 5 day to Bahamas. Thank you for the video! Seems comparable to a Carinval cruise. Only Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville theme everywhere, which we both love!
Thank You for the review. Was a little concerned about trying this ship but it can't be any worse than my last 2 cruises on Royal Caribbean and the cabin issues and staff who did not care. This seems like it would be a fun short getaway and the price seems reasonable. It seems like everyone else making videos of this ship find small things to complain about.
Never liked Royal. I'm a Virgin Voyages girl for life with everything included (even gratuities). But this cruise might be fun to give a try too. I can't just do 2 days, not worth the trip from upstate NY
Dang girl, I have been watching vids like this (even booked a cruise and then had to cancel) for YEARS and I always walk away saying nope ... but you have just about convinced me to give it a whirl! I live in southern Maryland so I would prolly drive down also...Great video thank you!!
Awww that’s fantastic!! That was my thought going into it, I just wanted to see it for myself and not listen to all the naysayers. Glad I went and I hope you have a fabulous time! Thanks for watching!
It's really not a bad ship! I live in Florida (an hour away from the port). I've been on the ship four times & I'm going back in 2 weeks. The food at the buffet and burger bar are really good. The shows are so entertaining and there is always something to do. The crew director, Terry is awesome too. My room was clean when I got there & staff made my bed by the end of each night & they're really friendly. The inside of the ship is nice too. I have no idea why ppl keep crapping on this cruise. Give it a try. I think you'll like it❤
You’re very welcome! Disney is my absolute favorite cruise line as well. Don’t expect it to be as themed or “fancy” as Disney but for the price it was definitely a good little getaway. I went into it with realistic expectations- $49 vs $5000 with Disney 😂 ~~ I hope you enjoy!
So once you calculate fuel costs per person, gratuities, port fees, etc. a Margaritaville at Sea cruise for 5 nights (1294) would be about 4 dollars less than a 4-night Carnival cruise (1298). Well, that saves some, just not as much as you'd think. Guess it is a budget cruise- the same budget as many other lines 😂
I appreciate your review! I haven't gone on a cruise before and don't exactly want to pay the bigger bucks for the bigger cruiselines yet. When parking the car at the port, will they know what time you'll be back that way they don't try to overcharge if you're late something?
Thank you so much! You’ll prepay for your parking when you drop off your car for valet- it’s based off the length of your cruise, not specific time of the day 🙂 so it’ll be accurate
This is used to be Costa Classica it was built in 1991 beforre Carnival Corp. bought Costa Cuises back in 1997 . This is classic ship it is small beautifull and elegant. this is my first ship as a crew it brings back a lot of memories i am happy that this ship ship is stil sailing it had a sister ship Costa Romantica but that one is already been scrap They dont make this kind of ship anymore now cruise ships is like a floating city sea at too crowded.
I totally agree, those mega ships just aren’t for me. I much prefer the classic feel of the smaller ships and the design that goes along with that! Thanks for watching!
I'm going on this cruise in a week, have wanted to do this since they started, hubby has to work so I am going solo, got a great deal-paid same as if double. Thank you so much! Is also my first cruise :) question, were there taxis at port? I would like to take a taxi to Lucaya market... at Freeport stop
@sighteeandsip was a great cruise, easy on, staff was fantastic, food really good! Bed and room super comfy(had an ocean stateroom), will go again with others but like a 3 or 4 day/night cruise, this was too short!
Did you travel alone? I was just wondering, because you say we throught the video. Lol, I'm just nosey. By the way, you are the 3rd person I have seen on youtube that has been on this cruise and everyone seems to have a nice trip, dispite the awful reviews. I'm going to give you a sub. I'm going to go watch a view more of your vids. 🥰😊
Haha my son is with me in my cabin, I just don’t show him for privacy reasons. My mom is also here but in a different cabin. We all had a great time! Thank you so very much for watching & subscribing :)
Im interested in a cruise where you can get down and go to the beach. Did you go to the beach in Bahamas? Is it not recommended with this cruise? Thanks
You can definitely go to the beach on this island if you want to! There are multiple excursions you can book through the cruise line or you can just take a taxi to the beach 🏝️
How fun! I hope y’all have the best time ever! Off the top of my head I can’t remember the exact cost but if you scroll to the very end of the video I give a detailed breakdown of cost.
Okay so you fly to Orlando and stay at the margaritaville resort how far is that from the airport? And then how far is the cruise ship from the resort?
I definitely didn’t mind the lower crowds it was certainly nice in the common areas like the dining room and pool decks. I went on this same cruise again in December and it wasn’t much busier (there’s a video on that too).
I just went to Freeport on another cruise. They had a nice straw market and port shopping, and a Senor Frogs right there! All right outside the cruise terminal.
Hi there! I don’t believe you are able to do that but I’m not 100% positive~ it’s a cashless cruise. The gratuities are automatically added to your card on file before disembarkation. I hope y’all have the best time!!
Dining room looks 10x better than the one on RCL Independence of the Seas. I went on that in October and would think twice about a RCL cruise again. I'm going on this in a couple of days. Virgin Scarlet Lady in March. Thanks for the review.
Oh that’s good to know!! I’ve been on several RCCL ships but not that one. I hope you enjoy this one, have a great trip!! Thanks so much for watching 🙂
Just recently Cruise Critics annual award went to the Margaritaville Cruise Line for best ocean cruise line. Basis for award was Cruise Critic members reviews of cruise lines.
Hi it's my first time watching your channel thank you. I feel like it's a real honest good review of that cruise I actually live a few minutes from it here in West Palm Beach and I've never been on it. Can you please tell me I have six and eight year old boys and they are the reason I would go on this Cruise can you tell me about kid friendliness and if there are amenities for kids on the ship other than the beauty of a cruise ship I understand that is the pool heated do they have a hot tub kids area? Please
Hello and thanks for watching! I wouldn’t say this is the *most* kid friendly ship I’ve ever been on however they do have a few kids clubs for children of different ages. The pools are not heated and the 2 hot tubs are located in the adult only area. There are a bunch of daily activities like bingo, etc but probably not too much that 6 & 8 year olds would enjoy too much honestly. I haven’t been on the Paradise ship that sails from Tampa but i do believe they offer a bit more that might interest the kiddos. Hope this helps!
Living "locally" that's a good value. But, anywhere else, far away, it is not. Seems to have A LOT of open and empty spaces. Not having balcony rooms (except he 10 on 10) we would not stay in Interior cabins. Being a small old ship; they should do Panama Canal cruises.
Yes definitely! Living locally would make it a great deal!! I was surprised how few balconies there were on this ship, this was such a last minute booking that we took whatever was available 😂 thanks so much for watching!!
Hello there! I do not specifically remember seeing Indian food however there were vegetarian options on the dining room menus as well as in the buffet. In addition to the $49 there will be port fees + taxes as well as gratuities and parking at the port. If you wanna scroll to the very end of the video I show a detailed breakdown of extra fees. Hope this helps!
Hi! The buffet, the dining room, and the burger bar is all included in the price of your cruise. Only “specialty” dining would be extra (steakhouse, pizzeria, etc.)
Hi there! The dining room Fins, the Port of Indecision Buffet, and the Cheeseburger bar are all complimentary. The pizzeria, coffeehouse, steakhouse, etc are all an extra charge or what they consider “specialty dining”. Hope this helps! Have a fabulous time!
As of right now they only have 2 ports that their ships leave from and that’s Port of Palm Beach and Port of Tampa- both in FL. Their Tampa cruise does sail to Mexico though but I’m not positive which exact stops it makes (I’ve never been on that ship).
You’re very welcome & thank you! Royal Caribbean is always a great option as well as Norwegian. Disney cruise line is my favorite but definitely the most expensive option.
Unfortunately no taco bar on this ship. The burger bar was open from 11:30am-6pm (complimentary) and the pizzeria was open from 5pm-2am (additional fee). Can also do late night dining at the buffet from 11:30pm-12:30am (complimentary) or in-room dining until 3am (additional fee).
Hi! It came to $116 (with tax & gratuity) for the drink package which includes 10 drink credits. Each time you get a drink they just use your wrist band and it deducts one credit, you simply sign the receipt and no extra gratuity is necessary unless you want to add more :)
@@sighteeandsip Thanks for the info and review. I live in south Florida and have been tempted to give it a try. Heard mixed things, but I think if you keep your expectations low....
Love this video. Was apprehensive on going because the other reviews but your review change my mind. Question: Which location Margaritaville resort you stayed in?
You cant even stay at a camp ground for that price! I wish I lived closer because the plane ticket cost makes it more expensive but if I lived near Florida I would be here once a month!
I think that a lot of the negative reviews were from when they first started, but they seem to have gotten it together. I wish I lived closer so I could take advantage! Alas, I'd have to free airfare to make it worth it for such a short cruise. I am considering booking the newer ship though. It seems like a blast!
Same! This was on a whim trip but it was just too far to justify the overall cost of gas, etc. If I lived in FL (or somewhere closer) I would definitely take advantage of their sale prices often, it was truly a great time. Thanks for watching!
I don’t want to tell you wrong but there was an outlet on the wall beside the mirror that was round and said 220 voltage. I used just my cable (no box) in the USB port to charge my phone.

Why did you brush off the shelving that was missing pieces of wood and dirty.
I went into this knowing the ship wasn’t going to be in perfect condition and that little shelf with the flaking particle board was really the only issue I saw. Something that minor is not going to affect your trip negatively unless you want it to. Not a big deal to me in the grand scheme of things.
Only additional cost would be whatever you spend on slots or table games. You can certainly walk through and visit without playing any games at zero cost if you’d like.
A cruise used to cost thousands of dollars and there was never a fight on board and the food was amazing now there are fights and the food sucks because they are ALL WALMART NOW.......
It seems like they had mini fridges in that one chipped area at some point but have since removed them. A few cosmetic issues here and there but it’s an older ship. Didn’t see any water damage, entire ship smelled fresh and clean. Overall I was pleased with everything for the amount I paid. Thanks for watching!
I go through detailed pricing in the video, not hiding anything. The base fare is $49 per person. So when you see Margaritaville advertising the “$49 cruise” this is what you’re getting and paying for. It’s called transparency.
EDIT: the fuel charge was $30 per person, NOT $30 per person per day. This was a typo in my video
I want to book a princess cruise, and since I live on benefits in seden that will never happen I´m bingewatching cruisetube.
😅
It’s $15 per person per day
I've done it a few times and always enjoy myself. I travel solo just to get away from work. BTW I live about 20 minutes south of the port. That makes it very easy 😊
That’s fantastic! It’s the perfect little getaway cruise! 🚢
Jealous.
That’s so neat. I’m intrigued that you go solo. I don’t know that I’ve ever even gone out to eat solo. I’m going to put that on my “to do” list. I think it’s great that you can cruise solo.
This was the best video. It was really well done. Whomever edited this footage is really talented. I watched it 3 times.
Aww I appreciate the kind words! Glad you enjoyed! 😀

We’ve never been on a cruise. This seems less overwhelming. Great review!
Thank you so much! A 2-day would be a great way to “get your feet wet” and see if you like it 🛳️

Hi, do you have to pay extra for the food? Or does that come with the trip price when you originally pay for the room? @queencharles3527
This video cemented my decision. I'm going. For a quick getaway, it's great.
Yay that’s fantastic!! I hope you have a blast!! I actually went back again in Dec (there’s a separate video) and had an equally great time
My husband and I absolutely love margarittaville in Orlando! We go regularly since we live in Kissimmee ❤

Woo! I hope you have a great time!! Thanks for watching 😀
Please share your experience.
Thank you so much for this! I have only ever sailed Disney and was a little worried about trying something different :)
Thanks a lot for this review. Are the water, juice, coffee complimentary during the meals?
Hi! Thanks so much for watching- yes, those are complimentary 🙂
Taking this same cruise in march, had one in November on the newer islander that was great as well!
That’s awesome!! I still need to do the Islander, it’s on my list! 🚢
We been there dec 27 to 30, the fins foods is good we eat dinner 2nd and 3rd nights. My kids so much fun and they love it

I just booked a weekend cruise for January. Thank you for your review and video

Right haha! Those added fees always getcha in the end! Still a great time and I’d definitely do it again!

I appreciate your review! I haven't gone on a cruise before and don't exactly want to pay the bigger bucks for the bigger cruiselines yet. When parking the car at the port, will they know what time you'll be back that way they don't try to overcharge if you're late something?

Do you have to be handicapped to get a scooter, and do they have cup holders? Great tour. Sounds fun.
Thank you so much! I am unsure on the scooter policy, I would suggest calling their 800# just to confirm because I don’t want to misinform you.
I think I would like to give this ship a whirl looks real good for a low price it is amazing.
That’s fantastic! It was definitely worth the money 🚢

@sighteeandsip thanks so much for answering, am looking forward to this!

When did you get on and off how many days was this cruise?
Hi! On around 1pm on embarkation day- 2 night cruise- we were able to disembark around 9am on day 3 🙂

You can definitely go to the beach on this island if you want to! There are multiple excursions you can book through the cruise line or you can just take a taxi to the beach 🏝️
Is there music playing all over the ship, is there any quiet place?
There is usually music playing in the Euphoria Lounge and on the pool deck. The rest of the ship is fairly quiet.
Great video! My sis and I are going end of Jan. What was your total cost of your trips? Including parking. Please and thanks
How fun! I hope y’all have the best time ever! Off the top of my head I can’t remember the exact cost but if you scroll to the very end of the video I give a detailed breakdown of cost.

Hi! It’s about 30 minutes from the Orlando airport to the Margaritaville Resort and then 2.5 hours from the resort to the Port of Palm Beach ☺️
I went on it twice (once when it was called Paradise, the second time JB died on docking day), it was fine... All cruises are basically the same.
This was my first time, couldn’t pass up the price!
wonderful review thanks for posting!!
thank you for watching!
Wow, it seems like there were only a few hundred people on board! Was that good or bad in your opinion? Seems like the energy level would be down.
I definitely didn’t mind the lower crowds it was certainly nice in the common areas like the dining room and pool decks. I went on this same cruise again in December and it wasn’t much busier (there’s a video on that too).

Beautiful looking ship but where are all the people?
It was extremely empty this sailing- I also filmed the ship tour while we were in port so most people were off the ship ☺️
Are you able to tell them to take the gratuity off the final price and just tip in cash? I know Carnival lets you do that

I’n confused. So what was the total out the door cost, including port fees?
Hi! At the very end of the video I give a breakdown of total costs- cruise fare, gratuity, etc.
Hi, do you have to pay extra for the food and drinks like the buffet line? Or does it come with the 49 price?
Hi! The buffet, the dining room, and the burger bar is all included in the price of your cruise. Only “specialty” dining would be extra (steakhouse, pizzeria, etc.)
@sighteeandsip thank you!! Didn't realize taxes were included in the fee. I perceived it was only 98 only for 2 people🤦🏾♀️
Yeah there’s quite a few added fees: taxes, port fees, fuel supplement charge, gratuities, etc.
Hello I’m about to book my trip, so the dining is free? My partner doesn’t drink, so I don’t buy the drink package. The pizzeria is not free?
Hi there! The dining room Fins, the Port of Indecision Buffet, and the Cheeseburger bar are all complimentary. The pizzeria, coffeehouse, steakhouse, etc are all an extra charge or what they consider “specialty dining”. Hope this helps! Have a fabulous time!
Did the boat go anywhere?
Yes, makes a stop in Freeport Bahamas on day 2
@ o I thought it was like a hotel type deal thing … awesome .. do u know where it birds in Mexico ? Cause I’m from Cali so that would be the closest
As of right now they only have 2 ports that their ships leave from and that’s Port of Palm Beach and Port of Tampa- both in FL. Their Tampa cruise does sail to Mexico though but I’m not positive which exact stops it makes (I’ve never been on that ship).
@ o ok thank u … last question and thanx for your replies i liked the video by the way! What’s the best cruise that u would suggest from Cali side ?
You’re very welcome & thank you! Royal Caribbean is always a great option as well as Norwegian. Disney cruise line is my favorite but definitely the most expensive option.
What’s the name of the place where you park?
It’s the Port of Palm Beach cruise terminal and it’s valet only 🙂
@@sighteeandsipthanks was there a taco bar and pizza as well? How late is the food options available?
Unfortunately no taco bar on this ship. The burger bar was open from 11:30am-6pm (complimentary) and the pizzeria was open from 5pm-2am (additional fee). Can also do late night dining at the buffet from 11:30pm-12:30am (complimentary) or in-room dining until 3am (additional fee).
Did you say it was $116/person for the drink pkg for the whole cruise???
Great video ❤
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it :)
Love this video. Was apprehensive on going because the other reviews but your review change my mind. Question: Which location Margaritaville resort you stayed in?
Thank you so much! We stayed in the Margaritaville Resort Orlando the night before the cruise. It was my first time there as well and it was stunning!
You cant even stay at a camp ground for that price! I wish I lived closer because the plane ticket cost makes it more expensive but if I lived near Florida I would be here once a month!
Right?! Haha I think my hotel + gas cost more than the actual cruise 😆 totally worth it though!!
Thanks for watching!
great video thank you so much for sharing
Thank you so much for watching! ☺️☺️☺️
Does the room have American or European outlet?
I don’t want to tell you wrong but there was an outlet on the wall beside the mirror that was round and said 220 voltage. I used just my cable (no box) in the USB port to charge my phone.
Why did you brush off the shelving that was missing pieces of wood and dirty.
I went into this knowing the ship wasn’t going to be in perfect condition and that little shelf with the flaking particle board was really the only issue I saw. Something that minor is not going to affect your trip negatively unless you want it to. Not a big deal to me in the grand scheme of things.
Excellent review! The only negative was your background music was way too loud sometimes drowning you out.
Thank you so much- I appreciate your feedback ☺️
Cheaper than 15 minutes if disney world
Haha Disney is definitely expensive but I do love it!
Did the casino cost additional money?
Only additional cost would be whatever you spend on slots or table games. You can certainly walk through and visit without playing any games at zero cost if you’d like.
The storage spot looks like a place for the missing fridge.
That was my exact thought as well 😅 I’m wondering if they just removed all the mini fridges due to the short duration of these cruises? Not sure.
$49 who cares. I would go no problem if I lived near the port. Heck I would go all the time...
Right?! If I lived closer this would definitely be a frequent occurrence! 🚢
Where are all the other guest?
Haha good question 🤷🏼♀️ it definitely wasn’t anywhere near a full sailing
A cruise used to cost thousands of dollars and there was never a fight on board and the food was amazing now there are fights and the food sucks because they are ALL WALMART NOW.......
Witnessed zero fights & food was great so 🤷🏼♀️ happy to save a few bucks and have a nice weekend getaway.
$49 yea right!
Yes, $49 per person base fare for inside cabin. Detailed pricing given at the end.
$49 for two days? what have i done with my life?
Haha there’s definitely additional fees as stated at the end of the video 😆
that cabin looks rough. allot of splintered wood and chipped edges and looks like water damage.
You could see water damage on the ceiling in the closet at the beginning of the stateroom tour
So 5000$ for a good time $$
So how much for a 5+ star cruise $$
$5,000?! Haha no. That’s more like the cost of my Disney cruises 😂
@@sighteeandsip well I'm ignorant about cruises easy relaxing cruise no children couple hours total time
@@sighteeandsip and if a Disney cruise is 5 star for 5000$ I'm out
A 2 day cruise? Were you able to pay with your EBT card?
A weekend cruise, yes. EBT card, no 🙄
@ That’s a damn shame.I’m sure at the end of the year you can claim you kids as a tax deductible and get a better cruise.Movin’ on up.
@@Jameschewingfoilyour username is spot on🤡
Why clickbait people it cost you $500 plus for two days? This isnt $50 a night. Anything for views.
I go through detailed pricing in the video, not hiding anything. The base fare is $49 per person. So when you see Margaritaville advertising the “$49 cruise” this is what you’re getting and paying for. It’s called transparency.
You can hype this cruise line as much as you want, but it's still trash!
Went on it again last month 🤷🏼♀️ makes a great little weekend trip
Gross, I would NEVER set foot on that thing
To each their own. As someone who cruises with disney and loves it, this ship was surprisingly good! Thanks for watching.
I had a girl tell me that one time.
