    Good work, I thought I was the only one who came across dog houses. Like the flares.

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  9 років тому +2

      YA the flares, I have gotten used to sweat driers and txv's and try to use them as much as possible, but I still use the flare stuff. Dawg house, tin knocker slang. Lol it was 37* yesterday morning that about kills people in CA. LOL

    Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C you are one of my favorite techs on UA-cam. I'm in school and i like Steve lav and then there's others but they are a giant commercial right now and I can't afford that anyway.

    Nice work Rasta! Sometimes you can round a pipe out again with a flare block but that looked a bit far gone. Sometimes i set up pressure switches up with nitrogen to save messing about on the unit. Though I am sure you don't need any help from me! Great work :-)

    • @tazzman2288
      @tazzman2288 9 років тому +1

      heavydiesel That's a great tech tip! I never thought of utilizing nitrogen to set the pressure control. I have to try that next time. I will setting it up at the service truck before I head to the roof.

    Great job Dave. The old screwdriver knock trick on the bad lpc. Did that piece if junk have a high pressure switch on it? I would have put a dual pressure control on it while there in case the condenser fan dies on it someday.

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 років тому +3

      polishtheturd mickelson it didn't I with your comment I should have. That unit has no high head protection. See I get in robot mode I just replace what's broken. Good catch turd 💩

    • @polishtheturdmickelson5473
      @polishtheturdmickelson5473 7 років тому +1

      You could have installed a dual pressure control and made more money on the call and not felt bad about it. When we get busy, especially you being a 1 man owner. Robot mode is common. Keep up the great work!

    Nice. Nice job. Do you have a video telling how you came up through the trade? You have a calm style that doesn't exaggerate situations and even if it looks like a dog turd of a system, your not trying to sell a system- cool.

    What the devil kind of a party was someone having up there? :-P
    Nice work. I'm still working on being comfortable with and really understanding the notion of pump downs. I understand the basic process, but the idea of opening a system with refrigerant in it, even if it's "trapped" by pumping it down, makes me uneasy.

    Question: does that setting of the lp switch depend on the temperature and the zone where the unit is location?

  • @MrEltinieblas
    @MrEltinieblas 5 років тому +1

    Hello Dave. Where would you set a low pressure switch to cut in and cut out on a walk in cooler with 404a refrigerant. Thanks!

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  5 років тому +1

      Mr. Tinieblas are you going to use the psi switch as a temp control or just for pump down.

    • @MrEltinieblas
      @MrEltinieblas 5 років тому

      Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C just for pump down sir.

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  5 років тому +1

      Mr. Tinieblas how cold are your ambient temps in winter?

    • @MrEltinieblas
      @MrEltinieblas 5 років тому

      Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C real cold. Around 9 degree weather some times. Also, what wires would you connect the low pressure switch to if there is no contactor to break power? Thanks so much for taking the time to reply

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  5 років тому +1

      Mr. Tinieblas no contactor sounds fishy to me. Add a contactor there 9$ is it a medium temp cooler or a freezer?
