    Pull the bottom bolts/screws off the fan cover before the tops. The tops will still hold the weight and can remove the bottom ones with your fingers once you crack them loose.

    You definitely need to do a video on hobart whatever. They have absolutely no tech support, and will not help you in any way. I'm trying my hardest to have our store to stop selling anything hobart. Apparently hobart wants to make their own services calls, but I get called out on their crap, and sometimes have to tell the customer a lie just to have time to figure out the issue. Bro, please, let's as technicians ban hobart, because they will not help us in the field. If you know someone, or have any ideas that can help with mixers, and any other products hobart sells, please let me know. I do the hot and cold side, and I'm the only technician as of now, any help would be greatly appreciated. Let's talk tomorrow Dave, Friday night talk with all the working dads!! You are definitely the man bro, don't forget about towtrucker, he's another guy that's just amazing at his job, look him up. See you tomorrow night, hopefully!!!

    Hey Dave , something that's helped me with those annoying tight spots like the lower left fan shroud bolt in vid where its hard to get a full turn of a wrench even with a ratchet is a impact right angle attachment, can put your extensions and whatever you'd need to get to the area. That condenser fan struggled right from the start, when you reset the pressure switch.
    Watching that sight glass was oddly fascinating as the refrigerant moved slowly through it.

      by 2:27 my first thoughts, low ambient/fan cycle switch bad or partial phase loss/low voltage overload upstream (assuming 3 phase supply to unit)
      but the compressor sound is kind of drowned out and unknow singles/three phase. lol. ok I'll quit guessing and watch :))

    I just love the condenser unit calls. Got one similar to yours Dave. Unit was working but taking a long time to pull down. My company had sent a tech out for previous call of coil frozen and replaced defrost clock in condenser but did not do a big picture on it (Thanks to Chris for that) and missed the seized up primary condenser fan. I was sent and noticed that when I opened the cover. One of the little 4 inch motors. Got them back up and running. I loved the bubble view while you were working on the unit.

    Great video, in one of your live cast please address the need to LABLE a unit if you change refrigerants. Pizza shop Tuesday calls, regular guy unavailable. Filter drier leaking. Closed my valves, replaced evac, broke vacuum with R22 (manufacture tag listed) As I’m opening high side valve guy brings me a receipt for previous call last February. CONVERTED TO 407F. WTF they NEVER replaced the drier it rusted thru (OEM) Obviously you know how the rest of the call went. Please guys mark it down. 🤬

    A note on the square bolts... they make 6,8,&12 point sockets. The square bolt has 4 sides, the socket points must be divisible by 4, hense, the 8 point socket is best. In a pinch, I’ll use the 12 point socket but, they tend to strip a tight bolt. For this reason, all my sockets are 6 point, except for the few 8’s I have for 1/4” bolts or the occattional commercial spigot that has a recessed square stud and no handle. That motor as you said was overheated and may have still been a bit tight or a worn cap. Did you notice, the installer didn’t remove the ring mounts? They only come with the motor as a convenience for resilient mounted motors. Your supposed to remove them. When one vibrates off and shakes the thing apart, you will have leaned the hard way. They serve no other purpose.

  • @seantaray7180
    @seantaray7180 3 роки тому

    8pt sockets are great for those types of set screws and square-headed pipe plugs and older square-headed fasteners.. less chance of rounding them off. doesn't look like there is much room for those units to breathe... also looked like a nice drive

    • @BenTh17
      @BenTh17 3 роки тому +3

      We have some units where they put the pump down solenoid on the suction side instead which can cause that bubbling during the off cycle. Probably shouldn’t have bubbles while it’s running though 🤷‍♂️

      Is the charge correct
