THANKS for this latest E-CELLS review! I own this "beast". Got it in March, 2023 for hunting in Nevada where "covering ground" is the name of the hunting game. With me, my rifle and survival pack weighing about 230 pounds I need that 400 pound load limit to carry out boned-out big game meat. This bike is quiet and permits big game hunters to get much closer to game than an ATV.
MY CHARGING SETUP-> 1.) BLUETTI AC200 MAX lithium iron phosphate power center 2.) Off Grid TREK solar blanket (to keep the BLUETTI charged) The solar blanket is cable locked to the roof racks of my SUV with its wires running into the trunk to charge the BLUETTI During the day this keeps my cooler running. At the end of the day I charge my E-CELLS with the BLUETTI.
Also the system can serve in home power outage emergencies in, say, a zombie apocalypse.
Have you tested it to see how far you can go with both batteries? Thx
@@jkyles1000 I have not tested this bike's batteries real world max range yet but from my trail riding I have extrapolated that I can get about 35 TRAIL miles using level 6 pedal assist most of the time. That is WITHOUT a 400 pound load. With a load of boned-out deer meat plus me, rifle and survival day pack I figure maybe 25 trail miles which is 3 times the distance I would normally travel when hunting anyway
With my BLUETTI AC200 MAX lithium iron phosphate power center to charge my bike which is itself charged by an Off Grid TREK 220 watt solar blanket I'm sure of a constant power supply to charge the bike. The solar blanket is cable locked to my CX-5 roof rack.During the day I ran a cooler with no loss of battery charge.
To 50% battery level I can go 30 miles on pavement. OFF road and rough trails cuts that in half.I used it for antelope hunting in 2023 and it performed very well. I was able to cover huge amounts of territory for scouting.
$5k! Good lord!!
I don't see any other bike out there that does what Ecells does, maximum cargo, maximum off road, maximum range!! I have this bike, raised the bars 12 inches for long range comfort, added front basket! I was carrying a Miata car battery in the front basket last week, IN THE RAIN, had 3 cases of nutritional drinks, my last mile and a third is rough off road 5" holes with 5" rocks, 31 mile trip!! I get home smiling after 3 hours, range meter accurately says 10 miles left, NOBODY IS DOING LIKE ECELLS!! thanks Dave and the Ecells Team!!!
Micah this is your best video yet! That’s thanks to the well-placed snark regarding speed limiters and bike lanes :)
Yes we do need totally separate bike lanes with physical barrier to other vehicles from encroaching.
Tough to say because an 80lb ebike going at 40mph+ hitting regular non-motor cyclists in a bike lane can also badly injure them.
Just use the sidewalk. Nobody walks anymore.
@@BN99239 that has nothing to do with separation of autos from bikes with or without batteries. If a rider has a weight 300 lbs plus gear pedaling down a hill 30+ mph on a regular bike, is it going to matter if the bike is 40 lbs heavier or happens under battery power on flat ground? Don't compare a 4000 lbs vehicle 60+ mph to a 100 to 400 lb bike going 40 😅 750 watts will not get you over about 25 in perfect conditions so as long as you follow the rules nobody has to be a Karen.
@@mr.monitor. But that is the problem. Not everyone follows the rules. That's why we have people enforcing them. Yeah, regular bikes can go fast still, but the thing is that not many people tend to ride that fast because it takes more work. An ebike weighing 80lbs can easily go 30+ mph on throttle input alone, so it's easier for someone to go at that speed. You're also taking the heavier end of riders. Most riders are 150lbs to 200lbs. Yes, it makes a difference when an 80lb bike hit you compared to a 25lb road bike hitting you at 30mph+. There are many bikes with 2000 watts, why are you limiting to just 750 watts?
@@BN99239 you going to stop and check how much power I have? The law is 750 watts in most places.
Bonus points for including the pink t-bird in the video, I wonder why the traffic was backed up like that. Not that it matters when you’re on a bike and go to the head of the line!
If they sold them in my local bike shops and the price wasn't literally the same price as a motorcycle I would pick one up today.
Very nice. I like the wheel color, makes the bike stand out.
Now as for the bike, what a great setup. Especially if both motors are controlled by the same throttle. Just add ABS and traction control. Out of my price range but still a great bike.
I own one and have had it for one year. I put 3300 miles on it and have not had one issue. I think it's worth the money! I did notice the lever on the derailer was in the off or down position. If the lever is in the on or up position the chain will not slap around when hitting bumps.
Can you tell me what the top-end speed is the most speed you can get out of it, also having two batteries how far have you been able to go on one charge with a dual battery.. I'm a 100% disabled Marine Corps veteran, wondering if this would be too much for me to handle..Thank you.
Yeah man, can you answer the questions the guy above asked? It sounds like a dope bike!
I ride from 30 to 40 miles and use 50% of the battery's. It really depends on how much pedal assist you use on the battery % you use.@@trublu2556
I have had issues with mine, but, EVERY EBIKE HAS ISSUES, Ecells is best in my opinion
@@trublu2556 32mph, 48 mile range, with big man
I was holding my breath hoping you'd say 4k, but I understand. Looks like a very solid machine
Wow...agreed...5100 for a ebike is a bit much.
@@waynelaw283it’s way too much, usually for 2k, you can get a really good one, wired freedom eats this for lunch, it has nearly 40 MPH top speed compared to 30MPH on this monarch.
@@waynelaw283I agree. I'm so tempted by this bike and they even have a more powerful version out now, but the price seems like it's 1K too high to be a good value.
I did a bicycle ride in Europe many years ago from Greece to Denmark. Some of the best bike lanes were in Germany. They did have completely separate bicycle trails. One I liked was about a 6 foot wide shoulder with 3 foot tall reflectors every 20’ or so between the bicycles and the traffic.
I’ve been enjoying that exact bike for a year now, and would have agree with everything you said about it. There’s something in the tone of the way you describe it that makes you sound like a salesman not a bike reviewer.
This is what I have been looking for but the price. For $5000 I could get a very solid gas scooter and have money left over and it's not limited to the battery life
I buying a few of those nxt year for my sons and I. Exactly what we need. We big people.
You from Tennessee? We big here! Especially the women! Lol
dual hub motors could become the future of ebikes with progress in power density and heat management, reliable non plastic gears, each hub could be lightweight and it would be possible to have different gearing front rear with smart controller to optimize efficiency and improve torque like on Tesla's, and torque sensors. I think the advantages of mid drives will decrease with time except for sporty bikes (eMTB and electric road bikes)
Sensible
Looks like a Great Bike, but $5100 is a really shinny penny, even for an Electric bike
It is only $141.66/month for 36 months.
@@kellymoses8566 ooooh that's good. So only about $100 less than a car payment each month! Cool!!
You pay premium for made in the 🇺🇸
@@BroAnarchy 😂
@@guymoe81 found another 2000w electric bike for about 2000.00
I just brought front wheel 1200W e bikling kit to add to my 2022 RCS with performance upgrade. Cost 1000 for the kit, but will be all wheel drive hitting around 37 mph.
that sounds awesome. where did you get the kit? Is RCS a Rip Current S?
I cant wait for the review of the ecells five star coming out in April, Its going to be a mega hit, as it’s components are the same as the wired bike, which is very popular.
Awesome video, as always. But when is the contest to win one? Pleaseeeeeee!
Love this bike, looks well build. Not sure why this guy was driving in and out of traffic on streets when it’s made for mountain and off road. Would have been a much better video. What do you need an awd on a dry street…
Anyway nice looking bike.
I'm a dude who tends to buy a bunch of things 2nd hand.. but you know what folks? I got a serious problem.. ebikes are SO awesome I NEVER see any good ebikes being sold 2nd hand 😂🤷 seems like no matter the cost, people are getting their money's worth 💪
Would love to see how this bike handles in soft sand.
You might have informed us where a bike like this can be purchased.
I'm not repairing something like this when it requires that, so I would need to purchase it from a nearby e-bike shop.
Look great, how much that bike?
What's the range on that bike with those batteries?
Im very interested in the Ehora Juliet , its similar but RWD. Also the Xpremium
This is a beauty with some serious power. The price is steep but glad you took us along. Definitely a keeper.
What kind of range does this get with throttle only?
So when and where can I get one, how much is it and who is buying it for me?
I had those tires, hated them, they were great on the dirt but on the street there was so much rolling resistance.
and the vibration is awful on the street...street tires baby!
@@waynelaw283 been doing The Chow Yang's, for a combination of both, think they may be the best all around for street And trails.
Are the motors geared or direct drive? Thank you!
where i can buy that one
How far can it go?
What about the king crown?
BTW, Please do a comparison review of this bike with other similar e-mtb bikes like the RAMBO Megatron for example. I think the E-CELLS is a better bike than any of its direct competitors. None of the "Top 5 e-mountzin bikes" reviews I've seen feature an E-CELLS bike and that is a BIG omission IMHO.
Is this sold in Canada?
I bought a Philodo H8 with dual 1k motors. One battery but it wasn't any $5k! And I can get a secondary rack battery for under $400...
I have my eye on a Philodo H8 too.
Me too dude the Philodo seems very appealing. For $2000
@@extemos6476 Put a good Cloud Nine seat on it and a brighter headlamp and it should be a pretty good bike.
nice vid! very nice bike but comparing to the cost of the Aerial Rider Grizzly and specs, it won't beat the Grizzly...unless you can afford it.
Feels like a Surron Lightbee or Talaria Sting would be a better deal and more capable.
I heard you're giving away this e-bike because I really can't afford one and I really need one for those big Hills when I'm camping and I got one leg. I could get a serious distance out of that bike I would only use the front motor if I had to going up hills
It does go up very steep hills. Hills use a lot of battery tho.
Drooling...
Seems as though the top speed should exceed 32 mph. I built a 1000w direct drive system on a 90's steel hardtail that would exceed that speed easily with its 30 amp controller at 52V. Isn't this "bike" capable of a higher top speed?
one number: 170 nm
meaning it has double the torque of high torque hub motors. I'd say the motors are geared like a single motor bike, meaning top speed on flat/downhill is about the same, but it will climb hills way faster or haul heavy loads with no issue. it could have been geared higher but they either didn't care or just went for the most common/available bafang motors
is that a cop behind him at 1:11?
Do the e-bikes charge the battery when you pedal?
short answer is no they have to be charged with a charger :)
I just find not pedalling a bike with pedals a bit silly.
Would you find it funny if the person riding it has one leg? And they got it instead of a wheelchair?
@@LetArtsLive People with NO legs ride scooters all the time. This thing is stupid.
@@bindingcurve well I haven't seen any riding around here maybe you're talkin about the sit-down ones
@@bindingcurve 😅 I'd like to see a video one legged man riding his scooter now that really would be funny
@@LetArtsLive Should have said mopeds. Auto trans eliminates the need to shift with foot and both brakes can be activated from the bars. Costs far less than this and more practical for actually doing stuff
My question when it comes to e bikes is cold weather. I honestly want to make a transition to one and get rid of one of my vehicles. Since my ride to work it about 5 miles
if you store/charge the battery inside 5 miles is no problem in freezing weather.
I live in Minneapolis and the only problem I’ve had is that I went out when it was -15 to the grocery store and left it outside for an hour and it shorted the display which I had to replace. Other than that, 10 miles is nothing for a bike or scooter with a decent sized battery even in extreme cold.
You say Minnesota. Well I know your winters are much worse there than in Michigan where I am. That makes me feel better about making the switch 😌
I was able to ride my Aventon level out at 19 degrees and just took the battery in with me. In use it will still heat up, just don't leave it on the bike in the cold
@@boxingtherapy87 Yeah, just remember if you have to leave it outside for any amount of time have an extra stocking cap or something to protect the screen lol. Cheers
Bad ass!
At those prices you have better options ebike or dirt bikes
Wow
I love the idea of the dual motors and extended range and the fact that it's fully suspended but my question is how I this thing handled on a mountain trail and mild jumps
I live in California and I like to bike up Mont Diablo in walnutcreek and mission peak Fremont And I'm looking for an Electric bike And I'm wondering the total range on this vehicle in those types of environments
Knit picking here, but, putting a Deore 10X drive train on that bike is silly. NO one is going to be shifting gears on that beast. Thats a throttle bike, plain and simple. Cool bike tho, i could see that as a city commuter.
Deere 10X drive train is cheap, so don't read much into it.
I Love my ebike !❤❤❤❤❤
Hope you aren’t in Key Biscayne. No more e-bikes there, for time being anyhow.
Thanks for posting unfortunately you lost me in 5 g
I have this bike...worth every penny! Like it way better than my Grizzly.
What do you like better? Because the Grizzly seems to be a much better deal.
@@costaricasbestguide9906 More comfort, power ,and utility.
What is the furtherest distance you’ve gone on one charge (using both batteries)? Thx
@@jkyles1000 I wish I could tell you. Never have a problem going anywhere I wanted to go. Good thing cause you don't want to pedal this big mamoo ANY distance at all.
There is a philodon e-bike at half the price less than half no it doesn't have all the bells and whistles. Did I win my book yet LOL? Maybe I should break down and just buy one but I keep buying crap for my e-bike
yep philodo H8 seems impressive value. 2x1000W bagang, 1050Wh. this one has 55% more battery capacity, and it will be useful if you're using two motors and throttle/high assist mode, and it has dual suspension, much higher end Shimano deore 10 speed shifter. the monarch is somehow targeted for hunters, like a 2 wheel ATV...
philodo is a hardtail so better to pedal on the road but it's less refined overall. contrôler and battery are not integrated in the frame
I need a bike that can do 200 miles in pedal assist 5
I'm a disabled veteran and need the range
Buy more batteries and some pannier bags. 🤷♂️
an ebike that doesn't need pedalling and will do 200miles at ebike speeds(under30mph) already exists it's called an electric motorcycle.
what's your expected use, bike packing? we're talking about 7-8hours of riding near the 28 mph ebike speed limit, realistically even more, like 9-10 hours. you should probably be probably more concerned with comfort, riding position, seat, grips, mounting points for luggage reliability, maintenance etc. other wise , you should look for the biggest battery options, dual and/or spare(s) battery if possible, mid drive motor for efficient climbing if you're planning to do significant elevation. you should also look for fast 300+W charger , because if you make a 1-1.5hour break you can get significant additional range from a fast charger that will plug in any standard 110v outlet. even a high power one will still weigh way less than a battery.
grin's cycle satiator is 8A/360W and only 1kg
it's safe to fast charge a battery until 80% you can program the charge to stop or it will slow down anyway.
@@geemy9675 Don't feed the troll
@@bindingcurve maybe but many people overestimate their range requirements
once you think realistically how long you're going to sit on a bike at most, your cruising speed (28mph is too much on a bike path with traffic or on. city bike lanes), the ability to charge the battery at your destination, and the elevation, you don't necessarily need the longest range. some will do long commutes with empty bike lanes, long straights, or roads with fast moving cars that will ask for high speeds, but it's a minority
Electric bicycles 🚲 are on the rise of prices, but you get what you pay for. Just like a car 🚗.4,495.00Current that's what is says on the website used to be over 5 thousand.
But they all have that crappy plastic kick stand >< I love carrying extra loads, look up partybox 310, I carry 2x of them on my Rover 5.
I’d recommend the Philobo H8. Dual motors, 2k watts. Front suspension. Less than half the price
This is an uneducated recommendation. Do your own research and compare products, they arent even close, there are TOO many differences in favor of the super monarch to list, extremely irresponsible to be so completely wrong.
35 miles an hour that thing will go 60 miles an hour you can change the setting
oh Dare i ask how ? ha!

No one talks about the dam range
too close to motorcycle prices😂❤
The speed limit on public roads is for protecting the ebike riders. Ebikes are generally heavy and those that can go above 30mph are usually in the 80lbs+ range. Ebike owners are also not enforced to wear full gear, such as full face helmet, body armor, elbow/knee pads etc. Heck, where I live, it's not even enforced that regular pedal bikes are required to wear a helmet. It's because of all of these factors combined that make it illegal to ride an ebike over 30mph on public roads, since an accident can literally kill the rider. Now, if they require full face helmet and protective gears for ebikes over 30mph then that would be the best case scenario, but then it's going to come down to well if ebikes can go this fast already, then what differentiates that from motorcycles? Might as well require a motorcycle license at that point because you're keeping up with regular traffic speeds, which means you NEED to know how to drive and have a license etc.
Price is laughably high when you can get a 60 volt wired freedom for over $3,000 LESS. Even other dual motor bikes are going for half this price.
You're gonna break your ankle riding foot down.
