I don't understand why they don't charge him with attempted murder. Because you know that's considered Attempted vehicle manslaughter if anybody else were to try it. And if you watch that video right in the beginning, the very first car that bumps in to the back in watch is dash cam. And you can see that guy waving that gun underneath the rearview mirror.

Im long gone from Ohio but its so unfortunate because those residential streets he was driving down is exactly where my elderly aunt lives. That area has gotten horrible since I was a child. I hate this.

What changed
I honestly don’t get why people flee in vehicles. Where do they think they’re gonna go?
Especially when the plates go back to them or their mom or friend or cousin or gf. If it's stolen, those guys run cause sometimes police will call off a pursuit in residential areas and that let's them get away and ditch the car and get picked up.
They are prob imagining they in the fast and the furious, lol. Or like the end of Grease, where they just fly away in the car into the clouds...
And it’s not like he was in a souped up sports car!😂
Those cruisers are big and heavy. You just have to be a mediocre driver at least and stay ahead of the radio i.e. make lots of sharp corners at speed. Also having stolen plates is a must, as well as another car you can drive because that one will be hot for a few months. It helps to have a fast car but not 100% necessary, just a capable car will do, like something squat, awd and low to the ground. That honda fit may would flip taking fast corners, being tall like it is.
Knowing the neighborhoods you are in, maybe a few easements you can cut through or back alleys, helps tremendously. I don't think they will even chase you if you are on a bike. Whatever you are in, you have to COMMIT, none of that slowing down or stopping and going and hesitating. Make the decision before the lights even come on. And for the love of Jeebus don't run for something stupid like a joint or unpaid parking tickets lol only if it doesn't really matter if you get caught anyways.
8/10 high speed pursuits are called off and over half of the other two that aren't end up getting away.
We only see the ones that end in police catching. How embarrassing would it be for police officers around the country to have to release body cam video of them losing vehicles in traffic? And you know the suspects are going to be calling looking for it lol

The willingness to end the lives of others without any problems is deeply despicable and characterless. Such crimes must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Let's see felony evading assault with a deadly weapon probably DUI and probably a felon in possession of a weapon. Glad you brought that up. I believe attempted homicide charges should be lodged any time a fleeing car comes near another vehicle. That is what chases are --- putting the public in danger. Cameras can identify the number of potential victims.
