- An Ohio woman called 911 on herself after driving her car off a loading dock in the industrial business sector of West Lake in March. Bethany Gholson felt “safe” when officers arrived, going as far as telling them she was “so drunk it’s not even f**king funny.” Gholson pleaded not guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence after allegedly telling police she was “drunk driving” numerous times and evening offering to “keep driving” while her car was clearly out of commission, all of which was captured on the officers’ body cameras.

The bodycam footage shows Gholson hysterical and “scared” after crashing her car. She was on the phone with her boyfriend when law enforcement arrived. After surveying the scene and speaking with the woman, officers decided to have her perform field sobriety tests before arresting her. The Ohio woman took a breathalyzer test back at the police station and appeared to blow a BAC of 0.195, over two and a half times the legal limit. Her case is currently pending.

You are right but that's not the way the law works. The law requires them to do field sobriety tests. The case would be dropped if they can't "prove" that she's drunk. Her obvious impairment and omission mean nothing. Therefore, they always do the tests which eliminates any question of impairment. I used to have a neighbor that was an officer, and he was certified to do the tests. He explained all this to me. I guess it's a good thing. It protects both sides by removing any doubt.

As DUIs go, this is about the best possible. Nobody hurt, non-violent person, very nice and easy to deal with (for a drunk), respectful. I'm so used to people yelling, calling the cops names, fighting, running, and being obnoxious this girl is a dream by comparison.
I've always heard "a drunken heart speaks a sober mind." In my experience that's been very true. Alcohol just brings out people's true colors. She's probably a really sweet person that made a very poor decision. Hopefully she learned her lesson.

:) HaHa!! I love it! But I have to be honest ~ I'm an old Grandma. Wallyboy was my dog, I was going to make a UA-cam channel of his adventures, but my disabilities got worse & couldn't do it. Years went by, time passes so quickly.
Wallyboy got cancer & had to be euthanized this January. He was 14.
I miss him so very much, he was truly my best friend. I'm so lucky and blessed to have had him in my life.

I share in your grief, as my wife and I had to put our 12 year old golden retriever down just before the new year as well. Poor girl just couldn't get up anymore after laying down. It's a shame dogs have such short life spans compared to us humans. . .

@@vilsonyuri7696 Actually it's not odd at all. She lawyered up, and lawyers often plead their clients not guilty at the arraignment, even if they know their case is weak. He might be able to get the OVI dropped and plead her to Reckless Op. Or he may find a procedural error we don't know about.

In her defense she was drunk when she said that. An admission of guilt has to be offered with a clear sober mind to be accepted to the record.
It's routine. He's going to plead her not guilty early on, even if he thinks she'll ultimately plead guilty. The arraignment is typically the first court proceeding, and she has to enter a plea. If she pleads guilty, the case is basically over and she's stuck. If she refuses to plead, the Court will enter a not guilty plea for her. The lawyer might find a procedural error, but is more likely just hoping to plead her to a reduced charge.
@@bjs301finally, a comment made by someone with sense...in ohio it's normal to plead not guilty because in the end she will get a reduced charge and do a 3 day dui program! When I was younger I got a dui in ohio for sitting in my car at a party with the keys in ignition, I'm from pa, when I went for my preliminary I didn't get a lawyer because i planned on pleading guilty and the judge pretty much talked me out of it. He asked me twice and I said guilty twice, then he said if you plead guilty I have to send you to jail for 3 days. I changed to not guilty and got the 3 day dui program which is staying at a hotel for 3 days and going to seminars and listening to speakers, it lasts all weekend and you can't leave!

Years ago, a co-worker of mine was charged with DUI in Ohio, as he had a new vehicle & the common sense not to leave the bar property, & sleep it off in the lot (& listen to the radio), where everyone else hopped in their vehicles drunk & drove home. That stuff is good to know though. I never go out to a drinking establishment anymore & will cut it off at one drink if out.

I wasn't planning on driving, just listening to the radio talking to a friend when the neighbors called police because of the loud music in the backyard. It's called constructive possession and I also found out we have the same law in PA! Because I wasn't a resident of Ohio they didn't plead down the D.U.I, the judge waved alot of the fees but I ended up with only 30 day license suspension, the 3 day hotel stay and around $600 in fines..half of that was the cost of the 3 day program and originally 1 year probation but that ended after 2 months when I paid off the money owed. Stay safe my friend!

I was gonna say that everybody should act as “mature” as her when getting arrested for a DUI, and take accountability for their own actions … but then at the end it says that she pled NOT GUILTY 🤦♀️ Come on, she drove her car on a loading dock and told the officers MANY TIMES that she’s drunk while being recorded on body cam. So that means that days later while she was sober she went into the courthouse and flat out lied by saying she’s not guilty 🤦♀️ What is wrong with people nowadays??? Even when there’s hard core proof people never want to take accountability for something they chose to do!!!

The fact that she acted all cutesy like this was the funniest thing in the world is beyond ridiculous. She could've killed someone (or herself). Like yeah, it's good she reported herself and was polite to the police, but her attitude about the whole thing is unbelievable. It seems like she doesn't even think she did anything wrong. Her biggest priority was trying to avoid any consequences, like she literally whispered to the one officer and asked how she "could get out of this."
