React to Tear , about the group almost disbanding in 2016 because the lifestyle had become too much. Once a month they’d maybe get like half a day off. But they pulled through together and this song is a result of the rappers feelings during that time.
DDAENG is a b side hit that has some intense Korean wordplay but sooo good. The singers actually took over the rap parts during a muster concert for ARMY and it’s the best thing!

2. Each of their solo shows are incredible as well -- J-hope at Lollapalooza, RM at Rolling Hall, and Suga in his solo tour.
3. Their performance of Cypher Pt 3 at their Busan concert was even more energetic than this. And post-Lollapalooza J-hope was just on another level.
4. Suga did a rap medley in his solo tour that consisted of his verses in Cypher Pt 3, Cypher Pt 4, Ugh, Ddaeng, and Huh. It was 10 minutes of rap bliss. It was just relentless, song after song after song.
5. Jungkook doing RM's verse in "Ddaeng" is just something you gotta see. Every time I watch the performance, I have to repeat his part at least three times, but often more than that.
JHope has always had confidence but he was absolutely shining with it at the Busan concert. They were all bad-ass in that concert, though. The live band was just killin' it, too.

@@mev9752 - Yes, JK was only rapping RM's verse, but he did it very well, don't you think? Just like J-hope doing Suga's fast rap in Daechwita, and RM and Jimin doing Becky G's verses in Chicken Noodle Soup. None of them were doing their own verses, but they all shined in their parts, IMHO.

Silver ARMY for 4 years "Cypher" is part of my playlist!!..You should listen to more songs from their beginnings...They are linked together...RM is a born leader . I watched Agust D (Suga) live in concert last year in LA and I have never been to a concert that was as loud as that one the crowds at their concerts go crazyyyy!!
This Cypher medley was from a concert in 2017, "Enjoy More BTS" channel just recently uploaded the version with the subtitles. It was at the Busan concert in 2022 that they announced they'd be retiring Cypher Pt 3 from live shows... but then SUGA did part of it in his medley during his solo tour. :)

Supreme Boi is a rapper too and trained with BTS’s rap line. He decided that he didn’t want to be an idol and is now one of the main producers for Hybe, BTS’s label.
They did the free concert in Busan for a bid for the 2030 World Expo (something like that). Other countries were bidding for it too. BTS were the ambassadors for South Korea so the government wanted to do a concert for the bid. The government was originally supposed to pay for the whole thing but BTS ended up paying. Which was F'd up. So BTS did the concert for free. Then after the concert they all announced they're all just going to the Military. Because the government was taking so long to decide if they were going to give BTS exemption from the Military. It was a whole mess.
*FYI I’m not saying BTS wanted exemption. They never did.
Edit: They already said they planned to enlist in the military when called upon. But the government was being greedy because BTS was bringing in so much money to the country.

@@quatzxice It was reported that the venue in Busan wasn't ready to accommodate thousands of people for the concert and the ground/field weren't even. Bighit/BTS shed some hefty bucks to fix it and set up everything.
@quatzxice Yep. The government was screwing up the logistics so badly and it was becoming obvious that the concert wasn't going to be very safe. So, BTS and BH decided they would get it done so it's safe and then paid for it all.

They choose a space that had (maybe) 2 entrances - one was supposed to be open for the concert.
K-Army immidetly tried to find emergency personal among them because this was asking for a catastrophe.
The place was supposed to accomodate 100 000 people - toiletts in the 10s not 100s, too - no water from outside allowed, over one entrance coming in for hours. How were they supposed to leave?
Why here?
Because the major and consorts owned the land I suppose. There was a public viewing in that place which also had a lot of people but far far less that originally planed by the city.
So a new venue (Busan Asiad Main Stadium) was decided - now a place that could only fit about 50 000 people but at least was made for it. Unfortunetly a storm had destroyed some very specific decorative panels so it wasn't completly good.
The whole time the Busan major and the people around this committee proved being unable to plan themselves out of a paperbag as shown in other parts of this story, too.
Suddenly someone asked the "wait. who is paying?" question because they said that the taxpayer was not paying for it.
HYBE supposedly asked them to write to the other companies that were helping in the bid like Samsung and Hyundai to fund the concert and they claimed they did - only for these companies to say that they did not get a request and are not paying for the concert.
So suddenly HYBE was seen in the public to finance it.
I heard some people debating that they did find some sponsers but I'm not sure or if how much they covered.
It was fascinating and horrifying to watch that particular train wreck.
Their Busan concert was free to the audience. The city of Busan was supposed to pay for the concert, because it was part of their bid for the 2030 World Expo. But the government was doing such a poor job at planning the whole thing, it was going to be like 100,000 people attending in a parking lot with no bathrooms, or some wild shit. BTS' label said they couldn't put on a good show in those conditions, and ended up footing a large portion of the bill in order to book an actual venue and put on an amazing show.
They announced military enlistments a few days later, because they didn't want that information to ruin the mood of the show.
A lot of people thought that if BTS did the show then they were in line for a military exemption, a lot of people from the media and department of defense were always bringing it up, but BTS were never planning for exemption, they were making their plans as early as 2020 to start enlisting.
You'll find that each song is always better live because all of BTS love performing on stage. Out of all performers I've seen, they have the most fun.

They do use backtrack for songs with the vocal line and that’s okay! They always sing live and there is nothing wrong with having a little backtrack! It’s incredibly difficult to sing fully live while doing the level of choreo they do
@@lillycamp8892 They don't pretend to sing when there is the backtrack.They use it to catch their breath, and we can see the difference in sound between the backtrack and when they sing. They never lip sync.

the name of the song you wanted to react to where all the members are rapping is DDAENG, the original is just by the rap line and the members decided to tag along and rap some verses each on their special anniversary concert, also known as FESTA. Keep in mind that the vocal line are all singers and they did it all just for fun (even if some of them truly killed ittt)

Yes, but PLEASE watch these videos in this order: 1) DDAENG live (prom party) with the rapline only, 2) DDAENG explanation video by DKDKTV (this is a MUST-WATCH in order to truly understand why this - FREE SONG ONLY ON SOUNDCLOUD - is such a masterpiece), and 3) the live performance with the vocal line. Also fun are the behind-the-scenes ANY time the rapline is practicing, but especially for DDAENG. The vocal line members are the rap line's BIGGEST fans.
I do have to say that even though this was in 2017 in Seoul, Jhope at Lollapalooza was just as lit! I drove 7 and a half hours one way to get a spot for his performance at Lollapalooza in 2022. I then stood in place for another 8 hours to watch him perform and it was worth every second. I spent over 4 grand on tickets, a hotel, and a car rental to see Agust D (Suga) perform in Chicago with my niece and again worth every second and every penny!! I got money sitting in a CD right now for 2025 cuz come hell or high water I will see all of them together! Much love and Gracias for the reaction mis amigos! I was at this concert it went nuts i loved it.
I can only say that BTS has had to go through so much racism, hate, denigration, but they have captured all of this in their songs, not attacking those who hurt them, but as a show that although many want to continue wishing them bad, they give everything for those who are there. supporting them who are their fans, their greatest strength is army, they dedicate a lot of time to giving music to anniversary projects to army, and they continue to be genuine themselves, that is why many people support them, they are always very grateful, their debut to what they are today. day are, you may see others speak badly of bts, but bts will never speak ill of others
What I love about this besides their performance is that is shows that ARMY is not a bunch of drooling females - they enjoy a hard rap as much as a soft song - ARMY know and feel every words (both the women and men) - one makes a mistake that rap is only for men and that women will not like it - it is about quality and message - BTS does not speak down to their audience they include them - they are real

I didn't find any comment under this video explaining clearly, so I'll write you a short summary of the rapping by the members of the vocal line:
in BTS songs (not solo work) the rap line has 4 cyphers, and songs by only 3 rappers like UGH and DAAENG, one of them - Daaeng, has a version where the vocal line appears and raps the rappers' lines. The same (guest appearance by vocal line) we have in the case of two solo songs: J-Hope's "chicken noodle soup" and AgustD's "daechwita"
there are also early BTS songs when the whole group and their music was more focused on rap, such as "no more dream", "We Are Bulletproof Pt.2", slightly later "Attack on Bangtan/The Rise Of Bangtan" or "Danger" and others , but in these songs only Jungkook of the 4 vocalists raps, the rest of the guys only occasionally - Jungkook was a sub rapper for a long time before he focused solely on vocals.
vocalists - JK and V rap well, each in their own style, but Jimin and Jin not so much - it seems to me that it's not their thing, (and ARMY, don't kill me, I'm not saying that Jimin can't rap - he just doesn't do it ) but Jin is just having fun and being silly while rapping, so it's hard to even take it seriously - he's brilliant.
to sum up: if you want to see how the vocalists rap, you can easily watch "Daang", "chicken noodle soup" or "daechwita" from the vocal line, but be sure to watch the original version of these songs first!
there are also compilations on YT for each member with fragments where they rap (or rappers sing), or role swaps between rappers and vocalists.

RM was first hired (2010-2011) as an idol trainee with BigHit with the intention of forming a first ever idol RAP group. He is the designated leader because of this and the fact that in BTS's debut year (2013), he was the only fully English speaker. A few m I nths later, Suga was the second hire in 2011; with JHope, a well-known award winning street hip-hop dancer. JHope had absolutely NO rap experience, and RM and Suga taught him how to rap while he taught them the basics of street dancing. JHope is part of the rap line, the vocal line, and is the MAIN dancer in the dance line!!!!!
JHope's early BTS solo is Boy Meets Evil; his rap is fantastic, and his dancing, which is in sync with his rapping, is mesmerizing! It's a short song, visually stunning!
BTS and Big Hit NEVER applied for military exemption, however, they were the only idol group that met the government criteria to serve at 30yo All other male able citizens must serve by 25. All members of BTS are now serving even though the younger members like Jimin, V, and Jungkook enlisted together with RM so they can all return around the same time in 2025 for their Comeback as a group. Jin and JHope return this year, so we're looking forward to that and next June when they all reunite. Thanks for reacting to our amazing rap line. 💜💜💜

The concert you’re talking about that they did for free was the Busan concert in October 2022. It was not about getting an exemption from the military. They all said they would serve as it is the duty of all able males. The concert was to promote Busan for their bid to host the World Fair in 2030 hoping to get it. They did it for free to help the city get the bid and also because two of their members are from Busan (Jimin and Jungkook). Also, they wanted to do a concert and see ARMY before they left for the army. Jin actually joined that December and they knew that would be their last concert for a while.
The readon they saud that was the last time they would perform the Cyphers was because they no longer needed to prove anything to those haters. They decided it was time to let it go and no more cyphers were needed. 💜🫰🏻🫶🏻💜🧧

Fun to hear you say “the crowd is hyped” during cypher pt 4 after hearing 28 sold out arenas screaming “I love myself” with all the air in their lungs during Suga’s D-day tour last year, amazing moment (they have recorded the crowd and added it to the official suga|agust d d-day tour spotify playlist). He also had Cypher pt 3 as part of the setlist even tho they said the 2022 Busan performance would be the last one
Agree, other people may rap fast, but no one has their swag or their message..as RM hilariously points out in "Joke" 😅 (please listen if you haven't.) The other rap songs aren't diss tracts, they have unbelievable messages that they write themselves (and produce).
Sometimes there's a camera back stage showing the other four members watching in the monitor, jumping up and down and rapping along! The fans know the words, as well. How could you not?

The song where all 7 members rap is from their LIVE performances of Ddaeng and their group song Baepsae!!!! Both songs are very heavy on Korean socio-cultural issues.
Ddaeng has several meanings: 1) a Korean card game, like gin rummy, points for winning hand 18, 13, 38 (numbers in the chorus), 2) sound of a school bell, 3) you wrong. Ddaeng is a diss track against their haters!
Baepsae (Silver Spoon) is about economic disparity. Silver spoon, born rich; while mud spoon, poorest born. The young generation of today are born mud spoon, with no true way of succeeding and are "crow-tit" a short legged bird never able to reach the heights of the long legged stork, thus at a disadvantage to be a success!
BTS's lyrics touch on the issues of social, economic and cultural differences, mental illnesses, troubles of youth, but state you still need to find your true self, accept and love yourself, acceptance, and tolerance! These expansive and controversial topics are why BTS is so beloved by Armys around the world. They don't shy away from heartbreaking issues everyday youth and young adults face!
There is live performance of the song Ddaeng with vocal line. In this performance vocal line of the group was rapping😊it was awesome🎉 and suga had concert tour DDay that was masterpiece. RM had did tiny desk concert and little concert when he released his album indigo. Jhopes Lollapalooza was so great😊

I'm extremely grateful to have been Army since debut and have been blessed to attend all their tours Stateside* since the beginning. To see this live from floor seats(pit) was one of my best memories. Heck even nosebleeds seats are coveted..Mind you most concerts in Korea are somewhat tame since fans have to follow etiquette remain seated, can't dance and screaming is not encouraged, can you imagine the international fans without those restrictions.? Yeah, insanity and hype all the way..Anyway every BTS concert and every song goes hard, best money I've ever dropped and hopefully continue to,..They never disappoint 💜

Their lives are always great. I really like Ugh and Ddaeng performances, and the DKDKTV explanations of these songs will show how brilliant the lyricism is. Agust D (Suga) has a song Daechwita (DKDKTV explanation of this is great, too). There’s a concert where all of the members performed verses.

It's the capital of South Korea where they are based and yes that's what it's like at a BTS concert we don't sit their quietly like good little girls in school. And we ain't school kids either but boy do we make make a noise and joining in singing and screaming rap line's and cheering our guys.
J Hope is wearing his sparkle bucket hat and he's the Rapper who came from a the Hip Hop scene as a street dancer and learnt to Rapp by listening to RM, Suga and their Rapper Friends having Rap Battle's. He wasn't a Rapper originally.
There are actually a few songs with the whole 7 member singing and rapping back to back, but i most recommend *Hip Hop Phile*
The song itself is abt paying homage to the legends, talkin abt Tupac, Biggie, Rakim, Nas, JayZ, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Pete Rock, CL Smooth, Gang Starr, Kendrick, Mac Miller, J.Cole and a lott more.
And you'll see how the whole group hypin' up each other, the energy is just there.

Thank you, loved your reactions to this. I always say BTS are Iconic when they are live, now you see why. Their swag and breath control is legendary! Mind you that they have already been singing and dancing full and complicated choreo at the concerts, with the rest of the vocal line as a group, before the rap line comes forward to perform these cyphers. I look forward to you reaction to them in the Busan Concert, the entire concert was memorable and fire, not to mention the rap line's performance of Ugh and Cypher 3, watch it please!

Since you're a huge J Cole fan, you should listen to "Born Singer" which is on the Born Sinner track. There should be a live video somewhere online.
The live performance are always far better than studio versions as that is when you really see them in their element. They are born for the stage.
There are some funny videos either behind the scenes or game shows having the vocalist line trying to rap or the rappers trying high notes and is hilarious. These guys are cool and don’t care showing some weaknesses.
The concert you are talking about, in Busan, was about promoting an international cultural fair... That was going to be held in the city, and the city, as global fans go to Bts concerts in South Korea.
They were not going to get an exception from military in exchange
The issue was that it was not an Bts concert, but a guverment initiative, a guverment project where they invited Bts to play, gmfor more visibility... So in theory an event, an concert that was supposed to be organized by the guverment... But ended up asking them to pay for it, the invited artists 😂
By this time Bts had already announced they were going to begin the military enlistment. (the guverment and popular talk about the going or not to the military went in for a couple of years with no decision.)
The root of that discussion being precisely how much honor and money Bts bring to the country, and even tho they never asked for it, and decided they won't wait for the guverment to decide, but enlist, the last thing they did before enlisting was this concert, again giving to the country
