At the time of first import into the US, a foldable stock was not allowed on the UZI. So they came in with the wooden stocks. Of course this restriction only applied to us the consumers. The military and Secret Service could get either stock. Cheers!
The primary difference between Model A to Model B is Model A fires from open bolt that's where you cock the top charging handle to the rear and it locks back in open position. After in open position you press the trigger and the bolt flies forward with the firing pin machined permanently on the bolt face hits the primer then bang! The Model B is a closed bolt firing gun that has a seperate firing pin added to the Bolt to ignite the primer.
Your wrong all UZI semi autos were imported in closed bolt. A vs B were small thing like sight aperture. Coming from someone who has a registered UZI machinegun.
Nice gun. I have one in the original box aswell. Mine came with 2 25 round mags and 2 32 round mags though. I believe they are original because the box has a spot for each of the mags. Unfired is neat and all but do t be afraid to fire it thinking about its value. Thats like not 👏 your girlfriend so the next guy can have a better experience. You only live once and if you have the opportunitie to have fun with an og imi uzi why wouldnt you. Its a blast to plink with and it is suprisingly decently accurate.
I bought an unfired model b 2 months ago in the original plastic case, with sight tool, sling the dummy barrel the 16 inch barrel a barrel shroud 4 25 round magazines and 2 32 round magazines for $2250. I couldn't let it pass. I just got a 22lr conversion kit for $600. Trying to find the 45acp conversion kit.
@MDpolo thanks yes it was a very good deal they had it in gunbroker starting 2900 the auction for few months then lowered to 2250 so I send an email and they agree to take it out of the auction if I gave 250 deposit then I when to pick it up. I bought a 45acp bolt now I just need a barrel and a magazine I am not thinking to get the 41ae cause that ammo is very hard to find.
Wish someone would do more on the mini Uzi as not many were imported into the US and import was for only 2 years so there getting harder and way more expensive than the full size
not tue, IMI ones yes but Centry arms made (assembled) them for several years in the 80s and 90s for about $600. i just built 2 the same way Centry arms did it using actual model A mil issue cut up kits and new receivers.
Ik its been a year but to one collector to another, what price did u end up paying for it. I saw one yesterday at a gun show for $1995 with some slight wear and tear but overall a good condition imi model b. In your humble opinion give the time frame would say that is a fair price?
Just picked one up on the Fly from an old man..it is a model B but theres no model B stamping...the stamping in mines say Model 45 and the under it as says 9mm/45 under that it has IMI Israel..the guys at the uzitalk fourm says its rare..idk
Congrats! You got the full size or the mini? Also, is the receiver gray or black? If it is gray, then it could be a Vector. Also, lots of .45 ACP UZIs were converted to 9mm due to capacity. 25 in the 9mm vs 16 in the 45. You May have a converted one. Hard to say w/o looking at it.
@@MDpolo it is the full size and I thought it was black but I guess its grey because its lighter than the one u have..also and I just noticed the vector stamping so yes it's a vector I guess..I really wish it had that black finish like yours..that black finish is Banging nice.
@@MDpolo awesome read and very informative... this is my post on uzitalk fourm.it has true imi receiver but was finished by vector arms..its still like brand new and I was wondering if I should treat it as a collectable or something I should put some rounds thru it..I will put some rounds thru it but I wont be dogging it out and beating on it tho.. here is my post asking for information on uzitalk,I also received some good info about my uzi on there as well. www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?91801-I-just-got-this-uzi-made-by-action-arms
Yes it is. You can find the parts (or at least you could) at most large gun shows. However, it is illegal to do so w/o the tax stamp as you know. Thanks for watching.
@@TheTeeWorldsfreak not really, the semi auto bolt will fire full auto easy enough if you have the full auto lower. if you want it to be full auto spec you do need to remove the blocking bar in the receiver and use a full auto bolt, fed ramp barrel or some mods to make it all work like a factory open bolt gun. i just built tone and i have all the full auto parts. if didn't block off the full auto yet and with the 2 pice semi auto bolt it would fire full auto. i needed to weld in a selector block so it cant. the ONLY reason for the bolt change is because the ATF doesn't like open bolts so to import them they had to be adapted to meet that not to be rendered semi auto but as part of the requirement to not be called a machine gun. atf IDs anything open bolt a machine gun. either rway dont do it unless you get the FFL to do it. not worth the prison time
This is by far the best UZI review on youtube, Thank you sir for your time.
That’s very kind of you. Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate it.
I always had a penchant for the UZI since they were useful for Secret Service & because the fact they come in a mini version & pistol version 😎
I absolutely love this Firearm. It is unbelievably accurate and has been very reliable for me. Thank you very much for watching.
Also I don't think the wooded stock had anything to do with import laws..i read that most militaries preferred the wooded stock

I would say that’s a pretty fair price. I couldn’t tell you what I paid for it because I’ve had it for a long time. My guess is 24 years.

Is the model A fully automatic?
No, Model A and B are both semi auto.
I’ve heard the B was still easy to convert to full auto?
Yes it is. You can find the parts (or at least you could) at most large gun shows. However, it is illegal to do so w/o the tax stamp as you know. Thanks for watching.
not really, the receiver would need to be cut and you would need a closed bolt full auto lower, which itself isn't readily available.

I own 2 IWI UZU Pro pistols which opened up the UZI history intrigue for me but, no offense intended, this gentleman is better than Sominex.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed your nap.
Would a norinco uzi magazine fit in a uzi pistol?
I mean a mico uzi
Good question. I haven’t tried it.

Sell me the uzi mag pouch
Thanks for the offer. It’s all staying together. Thank you for watching.
@@MDpolo lol had to try 😭😭
Absolutely!
I own this same action arms Uzi. Its a terrible gun. But iconic all the same. The MP5 and Colt 9mm SMG blow it out of the water.
In full auto it comes to life. The MP5 is a better gun but you can 100% mag dump at full auto for $30k less.
