Have you thought about taking your summer scrambling into the icy months but are not sure how to go about it? Experience counts but doing a course such as this with guide Chris Ensoll is a great way to learn effective, safe techniques.
I used to do some UK winter and Alpine mountaineering but that was 20 years ago and I was very rusty, so I booked a day with Chris to learn and refresh.
We met at the Kirkstone pass on a January morning just as some great winter conditions hit. We practiced up the steep ground on red screes.
As usual with Chris, the day was packed with information based on many years of teaching and guiding in the mountains. I always surprises me just how willing Chris is to make every step a learning experience. When you are tired Chris continues to pack in positive coaching, for instance reminding you about good descending technique over all of the terrain you may come across.

I am raising funds to buy an emergency beacon to help keep myself and the youngsters including Scouts I take out. Thanks! www.buymeacoffee.com/fellmandave

Thanks Dave, never too old to learn is my motto and I'm 62 and spent a lifetime in the mountains tinkering about on climbs and scrambles.
