It was drawing 280kW before it stopped. Perhaps the truck is trying to get 350 and the charger is trying to get it there until it throws some kind of fault. Then once the truck gets to the slower part of the charge curve, it no longer tries to pull over the limit.

Seeing the CT getting really good speed on Electrify America is a good thing, I’m hoping that means the EA people can handle J3000 adoption as well as moving to CCS2.
The sharp angle he had the charging cable at was probably restricting the liquid cooling. That is most likely why it derated and shut off and restarted.
These charging issues have been with the Cybertruck all along. Superchargers don't have these issues with other Teslas. Ever. Its curve and charging in general needs to be worked on as a whole.
@@ryanfraley7113 kinda makes Sense the Cybertruck was designed to charge at 800v so when it's at Tesla superchargers it has to split the battery into two 400v packs to charge that probably needs a lot of tuning wear as EA stations can charge it at the voltage it was meant to be charged at without splitting the pack
I always enjoy your videos. Thanks! I have a question; I plan on leaving my 2024 MY LR in my garage and not using it for 3 months. The one tidbit I found interesting was seeing a lot more EVs towing comment. I found that quite interesting. So you can tow with EVs. The other thing I am noticing is the times between charging appears to be around 2 hrs plus or minus. So bladder capacity must be more of a factor than battery range. I know when I travel, I usually stop for a bit of a break every 2 to 3 hours. So it seems tripping with EVs won’t be too much of an issue.
Love your roadtrip videos Kyle! Even when it's in a horrible car from a horribly run company. Never seen so many bugs and missing features in an overpriced vehicle. And the new superchargers don't function properly either. Oh well.
Just a massive example of why V4 superchargers need to be rolled out not just for Cybertruck but with all the other brands now being able to use superchargers their gonna need the longer cables and higher voltage limit
What about AC chargers at hotels? It is super convenient charging while you sleep. They should roll out way more AC. Also good for grid stability is there is bi directional charging.
Can you reach out to someone remaining on Super Charge Team to get an update on what happen with Super Charging your Cybertruck and post us on what you discover?
No anxiety… just planning the trip so you are as close to zero as possible for a faster charge. I’ve had 5 years of international road trips BEFORE superchargers were as developed. But your choice of course.
I definitely hear the front motor. Before you mentioned it I paused the video to make sure it wasn’t a noise in my surroundings. Edit: it went away after you were pulling off the exit so is it only at high speeds?
It would be nice if they release an update that allows us to remove a charger along our route instead of selecting "End Trip". That way it can recalculate how much state of charge is needed to get to that station. Maybe other that using ABR, I have always wanted the ability to filter stations on a trip. Say I have a road trip planned, I want to be able to filter out any 120kw and 150kw stations and just navigate to 250kw stations. That would be so helpful along with being able to delete a station from your route without cancelling the entire planned route. I've seen other videos where the CT will stop charging then start back up but it doesn't continue to do it over and over like yours. It could have been too much going into the battery and the BMS just stops the battery to protect it. Since you moved from one cabinet to another it still could be the entire site but one thing you could have done is take note of your trip settings with your camera. After that do a reboot of the car then plug back in to see if the fault happens again. I say take note with the camera just in case a reboot resets some trip info. At least you'd have it on camera and could do the total trip calculations later.
