    Evolve2 65 flex had the best performance. Sometimes a bit more robotic than the other mics. But I prefer to be a bit robotic than others hearing the blender or dogs barking 😅. However I would never blend during a call, maybe a espresso machine is a more realistic example. I owned the evolve2 65, sold it, the headband was hurting my big head... Evolve2 65 flex is really nice and soft, plus compact !

      curious, the size issue... i also have a x-large hat size and find some nice headsets just get too tight (especially one speaker models where the other side just pushes into your temple on the other side)... the Flex is more comfy for you than the base 65 model? Does it stay on your head when you look down or does it slip off? that is my concern with the Flex model...

    I have both 65 Flex and 85 and find it quite surprising the mic quality is much better on the 65 Flex (considering 6 vs. 10 mics). Seems many of the comments here also agree with 65 Flex. Thanks for doing these comparisons. I spent way too much time annoying my wife and colleagues asking, "Hey, is this better? Can you hear me well? On a scale from 1-10, how does this sound?" 😅

      Haha glad to help! Ya I think since the Evolve2 65 flex uses the latest processors in the headset it’s just able to perform better. The Evolve2 85 is several years old now at this point.

    I just bought the Flex as I travel a lot for business and spend most of my days on Team Calls. It is very good for that purpose. Light weight, calls clear. I am very happy with purchase and I carry several headsets for different needs (airpods pro for the commute, Bose 700 for flights, Jabra 65 flex for in office). The downsides that I see are the ANC is really not much, and far far off my airpods pro or Bose 700). If I was in a loud environment I would prefer the others (although maybe the 65 is better for the listener - I have had problems with the airpods and Bose on this). This is probably also linked to the light weight and minimal passive blocking. I am actually happy with that as I do not work with a blender, so a little ANC to take the edge off background noise is useful but they would not be great in a noisy environment. Secondly the connection management is decidely dodgy. For voice it is super. It links to your computer and phone like a limpet mine and does not let go ....Great for calls, BUT if you are trying to stream music, and a call comes in it cancels the music and you cannot restart it (You can see it playing, but no noise). Fine for me as I am not someone who plays music while working and I appreciate a good phone system, but if you want something for both music and calls this is something that does not work well. Hopefully they will sort out with a firmware update as there are plenty of complaints on this online and it was not the case on my earlier JABRA models. It may be better if you connect to your computer using bluetooth, instead of dongle, but I would not recommend this as I have tried in the past with an older model and the call quality deteriorated a lot. The dongle does more than you think. SUMMARSING: Great lightweight office headphones. Just dont get it if you want strong ANC (eg on the train, or work in a factory) or want to listen to music and take calls on your computer. Decide your compromises. I dont think they can fix ANC (decide if you want a heavier headphone eg 75 or 85) but watch out for firmware updates that will probably improve connectivity.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Рік тому

      Thank you for the in depth feedback very well stated. Yes music isn’t going to be good as Bose and certainly not the ANC is not comparable. In regards to the music issue I’m sure there will be a firmware update soon. I don’t recommend connect direct to Bluetooth you lose out on the call control features, access to Jabra direct, and more. Thanks again for your feedback!

      @isthataliasstillfree Рік тому

      I totally agree -- I also own a 65 flex for some weeks now and the noise cancelling of the microphone is excellent (I work a lot in noisy environments like busy cafes), while the ANC capabilties are quite minimalistic. This is maybe also due to the fact that the headset is not really overear (but "onear") so a lot of noise can slip through. If this is not a problem for you then the 65 flex is a really excellent choice!

    I also noticed the 2 65 and the 2 85 [the oldest headsets] don't employ a noise gate once you stop talking so you still hear the environment [muffled though] when you stop talking. I never liked noise gates because you almost have to say "hey" before you start actually talking else they may miss your initial word [like a person's name if your addressing them

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Рік тому

      You're spot on and we noticed the same thing about the noise gate feature being added in a number of new headsets. From what we're hearing as chipsets and Bluetooth continue to improve, so will the noise cancelling microphones while keeping very good clarity.

    Sorry, but the Jabra Evolve 2 75 has horrible noise cancellation I am not exactly sure how you got it to cancel anything. I was so disappointed with this headset. I tried upgrading the firmware and resetting it. I wish you would do the mic test without using team viewer or other software that has noise-canceling features so we know what to expect from just the headset. Now I'm just trying to resell my Jabra 2 75 so I can recoup the loss.

      Sorry to hear your experience. Not sure how you mean by "team viewer or software that has noise-canceling features", but if you're implying we're using something to try and give inaccurate results, that's false.
      We connect the headset to the ThinkPad laptop you see in the video and record through Windows Sound Recorder.
      Have you checked your computer to see if you have a setting called "Intel smart sound"? This setting has caused a ton of audio issues for headsets and once disabled could help. ua-cam.com/video/O8BVp8eHF_k/v-deo.html

      @DigitalNomadInstitute Рік тому +3

      @@HeadsetAdvisor I'm implying that when I plug my Jabra Evolve 2 75 headset in I expect it to have similar results to what I hear in your videos but it fails hard. If it was a cheap headset I wouldn't care but when I hear it blocking out a blender in your videos and I can't even get it to block out the sound of my keyboard when I type that is a huge letdown. I can only assume the noise cancellation for the mic is on the software side ie Teamviewer with the noise cancellation feature turned on. I've tried all of your tutorials disconnected the dongle, updated the firmware, and disabled drivers. Nothing works. I've also seen from your past videos that other people had issues with the evolve 2 75 microphone as well. I just want a noise-canceling bt microphone that works out of the box without having to do any kind of dance. Can you recommend a headset for around $300 to $400 dollars that have a strong noise-cancellation microphone and is not a Jabra product? Sorry, I can't risk getting burned by another Jabra product again.

      @@DigitalNomadInstitute we hear you. Maybe we can get on a video call and test a number of headsets for you to hear the differences. From our experience the results vary depending on the environment and headset you choose. We’ve found the Evolve2 75 seems to be the most debated mic performance we’ve seen. Some have your experience and others the total opposite 🤷‍♂️

    I’m trying to decide between the Evolve 2 50 and 55. My one concern is the wire durability over time on the Evolve 2 50 (I’m assuming we can’t replace this wire on our own) - would I be stuck in a situation where the wire needs to be twisted, adjusted in a certain manner to ensure I can hear the person on the other end of the call. The other concern on the Evolve 2 55 is whether I would encounter any lag while using the dongle provided. Would really appreciate if you could help provide your opinion :)

From our testing the Evolve2 55 can have a have a 1-2 second delay when it's first establishing connection to the Dongle but overall it's seamless. Howdy! That doesn't sound accurate if everything is setup properly.
      1. For the best mic performance connect with the USB Dongle, not Bluetooth to the computer or with the charge cord.
      2. Download Orosound Link and check to see if there's firmware updates availabile.
      3. If you're connecting with a Windows computer, go to Device manager > sound and video game controllers > if you have a setting call "intel smart sound usb audio" or "intel smart sound digital microphone" disable both of these and restart computer.
      4. Bend the microphone boom to be as close to your face as possible without touching your face.

    I have had the Evolve 75, Evolve 2 85, and Evolve 2 75. The original Evolve 75 is the best. Better mic, noise caneclling, and it just works. Never have connection issues. Evolve 2 85 I really wanted to love because I am on meetings all day and my ears get tired, but this headset is a dud. Connection issues, gain issues, and not to mention whenever I rewatvh a recording, the mic quality is really poor. One feature that was superior on the Evolve 75 compared to gen 2s is the ability to hear yourself while you are talking. The new headsets have it but are far inferior compared to the previous version. My 85s are going in the bin since they won't connect to any device anymore and I might be trying the 55s or 65 flex after this video!

It is very important for me to block out the voices of my colleagues who are on MSTeams calls and for the headphones to have a working mic when I am using MSTeams for calls. Business grade headsets will have noise cancellation added to the microphone which will provide a slight decrease in having the most natural voice quality like our studio mic, for the benefit of reducing background noise that callers hear. In most cases, customers are fine with a slight decrease in voice quality for the gain of callers not hearing co-workers talking, dogs barking etc..
