    I hate being that guy, but we started about the same time and I have been here since the beginning. I have not found any hot dogs without at least dextrose or some trash in them, same with breakfast sausage. Costco rotisserie chickens have flour and all kinds of junk in them. I know you use a lot of herbs and spices , but I find them to be upsetting g to my stomach, so avoiding this stuff had helped tremendously. You even have to check pork rinds to find the ones not fried in seed oil. It’s exhausting as these people change up their ingredients on the label all the time.

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 7 днів тому +3

      You're right to be that guy. Some of the recommendations are not ideal. It's worth spending the money on grass-fed, grass finished beef. Getting eggs from pasture raised chickens makes a difference. Butter from grass-fed cows. I'd stay away from the chicken and pork, you don't know what they're eating and because of that you don't know what effect it will have.
      I eat primarily beef at least half of it is grass-fed, grass finished. As far as pork rinds are concerned epic has some that only have salt in them. I get those. I admit I have some cheese, less than an ounce a day. I put heavy cream in my coffee, once a day. And that's pretty much it.
      I respect Jenny and she has some good recommendations but it's important to do what is best for the individual. She pushes LMNT because they subsidize her channel, I would avoid that product other than the raw unflavored.

      The best brand I ever found was the Boar's head, no dextrose, nothing bad. But I cant find them anymore. I think the key for all the things you mentioned is find the least offensive you can. If you dont want ANY additives, dont include them. But people need options, and you will still be doing infinitely better eating a rotisserie chicken alone than eating some carb heavy boxed foods like in the SAD.

    • @Dawgsrepeat

      @@JennyMitich I agree with being better than most on a SAD diet. It’s just after being BBBE for a year and a half and then going back to eating chicken and trying to find clean food it has been a difficult time. Once you start reading and asking Costco what’s in the chicken you find , Oh that’s why I feel like crap. I think if you do BBBE for too long like I did you almost become “allergic” to everything. It’s been horribly difficult trying to add back anything. But as they say, N =1

    Along with a deep freezer a vacuum sealer and Insta Pot pressure cooker make life easier on carnivore.
    The pressure cooker will have a chuck roast fall apart tender in 2 hours.
    I'll cook a couple of roasts and store portions in glass containers along with some of the juice.
    I do add an Au Jus seasoning to my roasts which gives it a great flavor and yes I know thats a carnivore sin but I dont care😂.

    well i tried strict carnivore for 6 months last year I did lose some weight which was good but my knees that are full of osteoarthritis never really got better i was still in alot of pain and i found myself getting tired of meat my labs came back and my platelets were extremely low , sodium was high and i just did not feel that great the whole time I gave it an honest try My Dad though has been on carnivore for 9 - 10 months and has been very good for him so not everyone is the same i believe so the last 3 months i have been ketovore eating the meats except fish ( it makes me gag i hate the taste ) so what i have added to my meats / eggs / moderate bacon / butter is i added the following to my diet Kiwis / Broccoli / cucumbers / carrots / berries / greek plain yogurt / hard cheese / Turmeric......well the results are i have lost more weight i went from 320 lbs to 235 lbs / my A1C has gone from 9.7 to 5.4 / my knees pain is pretty much gone and i feel amazing and feel like this is alot more sustainable for me.... you do you there is no 100% ideal diet for everyone i have found out like i said i am still losing weight (30 pounds last 3 months ) so what is the ideal answer .... find out what works for you .... still cut out the sugar / 90 % of the carbs / cut out processed foods its done wonders for me is all i am saying i really tried the carnivore it just was not ideal for me I am 60 and will soldier on cheers all be safe and be well

    Avoid sausage. Almost all sausage has additives, it has dextrose and other sugars in it, they don't belong on a carnivore diet unless you can find some with zero additives. Single ingredient foods, avoid foods with a list of ingredients. If it is processed you shouldn't be eating it.
    I have never seen bacon with cinnamon sugar crunch on it and that is disgusting. You can get bacon with zero grams of carb, look for the label that says zero sugar. There are some companies that make it. It's called keto or carnivore bacon, it is a little more expensive and worth it.
    Beef is the mainstay. Try for grass-fed, grass finished and if it is low-fat add some grass-fed butter. Pork rinds are fine as long as they don't have additives.
    I would avoid the rotisserie chickens since you don't know what's being added to them, the various seasoning blends sometimes have additives that are not good. If you want to eat chicken, it's easy enough to make your own. Most people on a carnivore diet will find chicken less appealing over time as they eat more meat.
    Avoid breakfast sausage, avoid processed meats generally. Avoid things with a paragraph of ingredients. Eat single ingredient foods. If you want sausage, make it yourself and then freeze it.
    Most do not need a product for electrolytes. If you feel that you do and you want to buy LMNT get the raw unflavored one. Their sparkling drinks have artificial sweetener in them, avoid artificial sweeteners. The body doesn't know that the sweet you're drinking is artificial, when we drink something that is artificially sweetened the pancreas responds with insulin. When no carbohydrates are forthcoming you end up hungrier and that is in addition to the fact that the artificial sweeteners are not healthy. Avoid artificially sweetened drinks.
    As far as snacks are concerned, you don't need processed meats. Instead I would recommend buying Carnivore Snax or carnivore crisps or the carnivore bar. My favorite is Carnivore Snax, specifically their brisket. That's what I use for a snack when I'm on the road. You can also make it yourself, it's not difficult to dehydrate some meat snacks. But if you can afford it, carnivore snax are a great option. Meat and salt, the meat is grass-fed, grass finished, regeneratively raised, no additives at all.

    • @JennyMitich
      @JennyMitich  6 днів тому +1

      Hello! You dont need to avoid sausage. There are some good brands out there. Also though, you can make youre own! I think people get into the weeds on including some processed meats, and if you are doing Lion, sure, dont include them. But most people can include them, and need advice on how to pick the highest quality :)

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 6 днів тому +1

      @JennyMitich Jenny, as a woman doing carnivore I respect your channel and your advice but I disagree with some of it. I wasn't a fan of pushing LMNT, especially the flavored varieties. I'm glad you use the unflavored raw one now. I bought their sparkling soda and thought they were awful! Much too sweet, artificial sweeteners even if naturally derived are not healthy for us.
      When we eat or drink something sweet it signals the pancreas to secrete insulin. When it is an artificially sweetened food or drink we are then left with insulin and no carbohydrates, that in turn results in us being hungrier. That's a very simple explanation but I know you are already aware of how it works. Avoiding natural and artificial sweeteners is better by far.
      This video is more of a carnivore for starters. I wouldn't buy most breakfast sausage, I don't buy anything that has ingredients. There is no need for breakfast sausage in general because there is no need for breakfast. We don't need to eat by the clock, most people are not hungry in the morning. If you eat a carnivore diet you're not going to be hungry until late morning at the earliest.
      If a food has a paragraph of ingredients or a sentence of ingredients it is a processed food and should be avoided.
      The rotisserie chickens are not ideal because of the seasoning and many have added grain and seed oils. I have not seen breakfast sausage that doesn't have at least several ingredients, most of which are not meat.
      I don't do lion diet but I am going in that direction. I eat primarily beef, grass-fed, grass finished for the most part. Eggs from pasture-raised chickens, butter from pasture-raised cows. I do have coffee once or twice a day with heavy cream. I have less than an ounce of cheese each day. I made chicken a few weeks ago and it didn't taste good. It was objectively delicious but I found myself wanting meat. The same is true for fish. I have lox in the fridge and I used to love it, now I find myself gravitating towards beef.
      As far as snacks are concerned I think you should get in touch with Carnivore Snax. I love their product, primarily their brisket. It is the most delicious thing I've eaten that I haven't made myself. I don't think they have any channels that they sponsor, maybe you could be the first. Look them up online and send them some email. You might try their product if you haven't yet. I think it's much better than carnivore crisps. The carnivore bar is okay but they have a number of channels they sponsor already. I don't like it as much as Carnivore Snax.
