'Things are very bad' in Union Island

- MP for the Southern Grenadines and Union Island resident Terrance Ollivierre said things were ‘very bad’ on the island on Thursday, July 4, 2024, three days after Hurricane Beryl devastated St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
I have visited UNION Island twice in the past and both times it was a slice of Heaven in the Caribbean.
Lets do that again.

You will wake up and see now all the free loading they do when they come to the Caribbean. It benefits them not so much you.
The EU has sent millions already but the money right now is pointless if they don't have power, tools nd material. These will get there ASAP from Grenada and Trinidad - no magic wands here sadly

I really didn’t know it was that bad brother.
The government needs to put a list of items they need on an official website. You are surrounded by water. All you need is a desalination ship on the island. Hopefully the British ship assisting in Cayman islands will come to SVG if requested by the government.
Also tarps can be issued so that persons can remain in their homes if the walls are still standing. This will allow for person to be sheltered from the elements. Of course water is also vitally important.
@@mar-jj4gb Yep. They have to act quickly before another storm track that same course before debris is cleared and renovations completed.
The world is beginning to experience disaster fatigue.

Where are all the Cruise Ships Companies that extracted Billions of dollars from the Caribbean Countries over the decades.
Why don't they send some cruise ships to all the Islands now with food, water and accommodation for the people during this time of need.
Surely they are in a position to help, Cruise Ships are fully equipped with all necessary supplies supplies .

Marlenepollard4962 Union island is one of the many islands owned by mainland St Vincent and the Grenadines. The people will got mainland until their houses are rebuilt. Then they will move back.

I understand what you're saying sir but we have natural disasters in the United States I was selfish and we need all the help we can get so y'all need to reach out to your prime minister of government and let them help you rebuild as I said the United States have natural disasters everyday

I don't understand why don't you have concrete house like Jamaica we don't have any problems with hurricane anymore
A good example of that is Maui Hawaii. After the nasty wildfire they are rebuilding homes with wood.
Not everyone can afford concrete homes.
