We had the Best time and are forever grateful for the entire experience!! We are so excited to watch the rest of the journey with everyone else!! Thank you for giving Merill the ride of his life❤❤
Merlin, “unforgettable”, “memorable”, we can go on… Best of all is that you had a great group of friends and family to share themselves with all of us. We’ll be here ready to enjoy the next miles till you get the “A” home. A special shout out to Jimmy and his Dad👍 THANK YOU for taking us along. 👍🇺🇸
In 1931 my great grandparents bought a brand new Model "A" and packed all of their camping gear in it along with 3 young girls and drove from northern Michigan to Los Angeles, camping along the way! Had to have been quite the adventure back then.
@@user-427.commodoreI'm sure they had fun then! Just because you think modern stuff makes things fun doesn't mean back in the day when model a's were modern it wasn't fun! Matter of fact u guarantee people had way more fun than these days! Alot more simpler and slower!
@@YesItsNotMeSo we've hot it great now, right? Homeless everywhere, businesses going under left and right, mass shootings (because everybody is having such a great time!), wars, world economy is haywire, politics the worst ever. Don't get me started on what soulless, deliberately poorly designed crap modern modern cars are.
Thanks Merlin and everybody in the video. What a treat to watch & I can only imagine how much fun you are having making these memories. You'll have plenty to talk about 30 or 40 years from now, when you're the nursing home.
Imagine 92 years ago that car was brought home and showed off the friends and family crazy. That must have been a big event bringing a new car home in those days. Great video Merlin and friends Thanks for taking us along for the ride👍
Definitely Merlin has too much fun with all these Old Time contraptions. Great how he is taking his bride along for the adventure and meeting up with several other enthusiasts. I certainly enjoy spending a little time riding along and checking out the roadside repairs. Consider you are traveling under ideal conditions compared to how roads and fuel stops were 90 years ago. Take care amigos.
Cory and Hannah are good people. I've been following them almost since the beginning of their channel and they are honestly the nicest couple. So glad you all met up and got to hang out.
Merlin, I like the title of this video. I just hope the unforgettable part doesn't mean that you will wake up in a cold sweat or screaming. It looks like you're off to a decent start. By the time you get back to Havasu you should have all the bugs sorted. Safe travels.
@@larrybe2900 Yeah that would be best but in midwest it can be problematic finding it. You have to seek it out, when close to boating areas you can find it. The fuel in IL. is almost always E10 at least. I could fuel up in KY drive up there not needing to refuel until leaving but have to fuel up twice on way back due to ethanol in fuel. I'd lose 10-15% mpg at least. The ethanol will definitely break loose everything in fuel system.
Wow!! What an epic adventure y'all are on!!! Thank you for carrying us along on the trip!!! Such good friends to share a part of the journey and help with issues you had on the beginning of the trip!!! I can't wait to follow along the rest of the way!!!
Merlin and friends have an awesome friendship and car comradery. Nice to see Desiree traveling with Merlin in the '31 Model A. Definitely had some fuel issues but they worked through them and continued on with their trip. Making memories on this trip for sure. Good luck on the rest of the journey Merlin.
Merlin you're very fortunate to have such a good and loyal friend in Jet ski Jimmy, and a pretty and adventurous wife like 'Desiree. I enjoy your videos.
Merlin touching “200 year old wood”… but don’t forget… that wood was likely already 200 years old when it was cut, so you were touching 400 year old wood in that beautiful home… God bless you on your travels in that Model A, she’s a beauty. BTW, my first car (in 1971) was a 1955 Austin A 30❤️🇷🇴
One of the best things about following along with several of the channels that I do, is that I get to see what you are up to and as a bonus, I get to see parts of the country that I would never get to see as I am in Melbourne Australia. Thank you Merlin and friends for showing me parts of the USA that I would not normally get to see.. and that would be an awesome trip in any vehicle but it would be fabulous to do in a Model A. Keep up the fantastic videos you make and thank you for opening up your lives to other people like myself.
I get up? 62 years southe of Springfield, IL. My next door neighbor, a wonderful man and family, had many old cars. I miss them. This trip is showing many places that my family spent time at. Thank you for showing some good parts of the Midwest states. Rural Illinois and Missouri are wonderful!
And the adventure starts! You two are gonna get to really "see" the sights on this trip! Hoping you can do all the miles in this beautiful ol'car! Grandpa above must be smiling!
I grew up in house that was built in the 1600s old house have character. Jim Sr looks young, life has and is good to him. It’s interesting to see where people come from. The midwesterner will always be there no matter how long in AZ. I’m sure Desiree always has an adventure with her husband. It took a village, but she’s running. Good people. Great video!
Hey Merlin looks like your trip is going good. My name is Randy and Im the guy that recognized you driving through Terre Haute Indiana I was pulling a trailer with mowers on it
Desire, if You don't want to go with Merlin on His next long roadtrip, I'll fill in for You! I'm jealous of You both! I'd LOVE to do that trip in that car!
I'm surprised Merlin didn't think to jack the car up on one side, put a couple of gallons of gas in the tank and then vacuum pump out the sediment, that or stuff a T-shirt in the tank, it would have acted as a filter to trap sediment. I'm glad he seemed to get it sorted, he always do.
I have 100's of photos of my grandparents travels back in the 30's and 40's. Grandma would take a pic every time grandpa was fixing a flat or something on the car. Like I said 100's of photos LOL
I met Desirae on the airplane ride to Indy. She was such a nice lady. I’m really enjoying the channel. Thank you both for the entertainment and the beef jerky!

A super rundown of your roadie so far... your backup team all so happy! It's the little things that happen that makes it memorable. Bet you had real fun doing this 😊😊
As a Brit living in the UK 🇬🇧 ,where the wearing of seat belts in front and back of cars is compulsory, I am amazed that you choose not to wear belts, where they’re fitted, on public roads 🤔 It was also disappointing to see Jimmy do up a belt behind him to stop the car reminder alarm😳 Did you know Michelle from Fab Rats was saved by her belt when she had a head on crash!!! Even if it wasn’t compulsory over here I’d still wear them all the time - I’ve seen the results of no seat belt crashes 😉😊
Merlin, just wanted you to know that you remind me of an uncle I had that worked on anything that had a motor on or in it that lived out west in Fountain Valley California. He had a shop there and you could drop your car off at one end of his shop and it would come out the other end completely restored. He would also take care of the stable of fire engines at the local fire station. I like watching your adventures and respect your ability to address issues "on the road" Thank you for sharing what you do.

As someone from Michigan who has gone southwest for vehicles its pretty cool to see the southwest come this way for one.
