I don't know why it's taken until this video for me to realize this, but you are all mad geniuses! Thank you for all you do to move the world of virtual instruments forward.
Aw - Thx TravEller! It sure is a ... sound journey! 📯
You know me Troels. Being a trumpet player and composer etc., this is a very good representation of brass here that I can use without feeling like it's not realistic to my ears.
Awww - thanks Gregory!
another mind blowing library - all I need now is a muted Miles trumpet - and those duducks, of course...
A MUTED MILES TRUMPET is a FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!
Noted!@@craigpurdie3528
Yup - on the map!
Any plan for bass clarinet?
Never in my life did I imagine a sound library of this quality would be available for $20!
Thanks Steven! Brewing symphonic magic at coffee prices!
@@Soundpaintmusic Y’all constantly make competitors like Spitfire look silly by comparison, frankly. Even setting aside how much better Soundpaint does articulations than Kontakt. Spitfire have some great libraries of course, but their prices are just bonkers. Even on sale. Thanks for pricing these instruments to own for working composers who aren’t doing cues for big budget motion pictures or tv.
Your enthusiasm is contagious, Troels! We do need a French Horn in the SP canvas, but yes, with this instrument, enabled by the power of SP 3, it covers all the brass! Great -> purchased!
Simply amazing and beautiful
Thx JonRay! The Flugel is strangely soothing and beautiful - despite its darker backstory.
Sounds great, just purchased. Troels Folmann, and Stefano Maccarelli are my favorite vst guys
Wow Trolls...You really blew my mind with this one! Thank you.
Thx Craig - means a lot - got kinda emotional towards the end! 📯
It's a very versatile instrument and even though I have a Kontact version of it, I'll buy this one as well.
Troels, below you commented "the days of expensive libraries is over." and someone can feel by the last huge discounts that it's not easy to stay in business. I believe it will all be done with success and "the battle" will be over. This instrument and Soundpaint is proof of that.
Absolutely. We are super fortunate to be in a position where we can do this - and that the market is generally bigger then it used to be. So its not necessarily what people are speculating either. The meters of market and competition are pretty universal. Quality. Innovation and Price. SP is our attempt at getting those right and aligned with current market.
I have been waiting for this instrument.😊
I love that Legato 1920 vinyl preset... Really has a great nostalgic vibe.
Thx Spokansas!📯
Just wonderful! Bravo
Thx Soul!
Amazing!! Thanks for another great addition to soundpaint!
Again a wonderful addtition to Soundpaint. Just beautiful! Great work!!
Thx Bass!
I think a color mode for the related family of the instruments wouldve been nice to see, for example the flugelhorn having a fiscorn (bass flugelhorn in C) color or a trumpet with bass, tenor, soprano, etc, colors. Especially since these are super rare to see in sample form compared to the standard version of the main instrument.
An instant buy!
That organ sound you got from the Flugel Horn.... Wow.. Also, I have Century Brass. When will I get my 50% discount code for the Soundpaint version?
The emails are being sent now. So you should receive within the next hour or so :)
Soundpaint libraries confuse me. Well, not the libraries themselves, more the fact that usually if you see $20 as the price of a library that's kinda a red flag to me meanwhile they're some of the most powerful and versatile libraries on the market. Right out of the box they just feel so rich and textural.
Thank you so much Annatar. Our intention with Soundpaint is to offer the highest grade of instruments possible, but always at affordable rates. The days of expensive libraries is over. The quality of all our Century Series is as high as it gets. We casted the best players across Europe. Flew them to Zlin (modern concert venue - equipped with arrays of both vintage and new Neumann mics) and carefully sampled them in deep (im)perfection. Always with the notion of having life and emotion in the samples. No name brand concert halls will make a difference - if you don't put the right performers in them. ; )))) Cheers, Troels
sic .... wow
If I look at the picture and hear the sound of this instrument it is not a Flugelhorn, but a Cornet (or it’s early version the piston). In your intro of the video you show a picture of a real Flugelhorn; a member of the family of saxhorns invented by……. Yes Adolph Sax. The Cornet/Piston is the one we found in the army and on the battlefields and is more related to the trumpet. Don’t get me wrong, this instrument from Soundpaint sounds great and it’s very versatile, but it isn’t a real Flugelhorn.

Hello, I'm new to SoundPaint, please forgive my ignorance but what is "Arc" in the technics? Can anyone point me to some URL that explains it? Thanks
Great question. I sorta talk about it around the 12:20 mark. Arcs are swelling/emotive sustains. Instead of just having players play static dynamics - we both record them in multitude of velocity layers, but also in arcs, so we have both approaches. I prefer arcs - cause they are more natural and realistic. Cheers, Troels
@@Soundpaintmusic Thank you Troels. Is it a term that is particular to the SoundPaint ecosystem? Is it an acronym?
Yes and no. It was something we started doing about 15 years ago with 8Dio - in the realization that sustains didn't always cut it. So its a practice we've carried on and will continue to carry on in Soundpaint. Orchestral instruments are complicated creatures with hundreds of years of legacy and innovation. Hard to capture in just one way. So ... we try to surround the instruments with as many (p)articulations as possible, including more swelling moving arcs and even moving short notes in the form of our soaring arcs on the Flugel.@@orion98mc92
I have this instruments on kontakt, how can I get the soundpaint version?
All owners of the Kontakt version should have received a unique crossgrade email by now. If not - ping us at support@soundpaint.com and/or LiveChat or Discord and we will get you setup.
Everything sounds wo great in the video. I had to have it. So I bought it. But when playing around with it it does not sound like this demo. I have had a similar experience wit Adastra Solo strings. I feel a bit cheated... Maybe I am doing something wrong or it's buggy. Don't know. For example the tuba sounds awesom when played in the demo. But when I try to recreated is reacts slow and sounds weird.
Hi Jip. It is exactly the same library. When it comes to the pseudo-Tuba it does indeed play slower (which I am also doing in the demo btw). The color mode should be taken as an abstract tool - not a direct conversion. We have Solo Tuba coming too for Century Solo Brass. Cheers, Troels.
how much better is this than the Century version? I have it and used the Flugel and sounded beautiful very realistic...is SP version on par or better sound wise?
Only you can be the judge of that Jake. The SP experience in itself is so different - cause you are in a faster, more flexible modular environment. The sound is more or less the same, but all the things you can do with it ... is completely different. But if you just want that classic flugelhorn and monophonic legato - stay in Kontakt. If you desire deeper expression, true polyphonic legato and all the abstractions that rich modularity offers - consider otherwise. Cheers, Troels
@@Soundpaintmusic ok thanks. I like SP as a whole.
Thanks. They are two different platforms and with different offerings. Kontakt = the tried and true for +20 years. SP = box of chocolates.@@jaketanner109
@@Soundpaintmusic BTW, is there a cross grade price for those that have Century Brass already?
