These sound truly amazing, and I'll be buying, but the lack of ability to switch articulations by any means (key switching, velocity sensitivity, expression maps, etc) really limits the usability of these classical instruments in my own workflows. I know key switches are "banned" but I hope other methods to switch articulations within the same instance become available in future Soundpaint updates
Great. I have the same issue. When you have the sax for instance, you really need to be able to easily switch between the 4 parts. Say you have legato, short, half/whole trills loaded. These should be selected by keys and not by 4 different midi ccs for part volume 0/127. Keep up the good work!
I purchased this on recommendation for a good jazzy clarinet, but unfortunately I can't any kind of "in your face" attack. I'm new to Soundpaint, so am I missing something? There is about a 200ms delay on the instrument (maybe due to the sample getting every sound before the main tone?), so recording live is very frustrating as it is noticeably behind the beat. It feels like it's only good for slow textures. I mean, it's great sound for $20, but unfortunately, it doesn't do the one thing I need right now.
So Clarinets can be many things. This is first and foremost a classical clarinet. I say that because stuff like vibrato on a Clarinet is more rare in orchestral music and more prevalent in Jazz. There are also different styles of phrasing for the different styles of music. There are several ways you can make the Clarinet feel/play more tightly. Try using Rack > Time, Rack > Legato (move Legato Time slider) and Rack > Offset. These are all tools designed to offer you the necessary flexibility for control. Especially the controls in Rack > Legato. Hope that helps a bit!
When you buy a single virtual musical instrument of the best Music Technology Company, you buy an excellent product. When you buy a single instrument made by SoundPaints you buy an orchestra.
In the past few years I was often very disappointed by some big companies creating literally bullshit libraries. This stuff here is a gamechanger. I hope you can keep creating this fantastic level of quality.
Thanks Oliver. Its only gonna get better as the engine itself does a lot of the heavy lifting with advanced algorithms. Its just been taking us a long time to get there!
Wow, the HAL technology is working so well, and Troels, your demo of the clarinet and a few examples of how it can be mixed with other instruments is outstanding!
Thanks Wilhelm. One of the things i enjoy the most is that I can both play it as solo and ensemble within one Program. It free's things up in orchestration too. Cheers, T.
I'm SUPER-stoked about the release of this instrument. Thanks 8dio/Soundpaint crew! I might even be MORE stoked to hear your take on the BASS clarinet. Obviously, you can pitch this clarinet down and simulate it, but the bass clarinet has got that extra "sumphin'" for me. I'm excited to see what you'll do with it. Looking forward to these!
Troels, a question: For these horns and woodwinds ... if I were to map certain Soundpaint parameters to my wind controller, what would be some of the BEST ones to experiment with at first?? (I'm specifically trying to do a musical amount of 'variation', that it would make sense to use 'breath' for; something that would sound more natural when I perform 'vibrato' with my breath and/or the kind of thing that happens when a person blows harder into their instrument.)
I don't use wind controllers myself, since I prefer to just have everything on the keys. But you can associate any parameter to any CC. If you wanna control vibrato on an instrument via CC - I would just associate your controller via CC to either micro-pitch and volume - and then narrow the range down both to match your specific vibrato needs? But I don't know if that would work, since I don't use wind controllers myself.
This new clarinet sounds really convincing. Smooth and natural. Already owned 8dio claire clarinet and warm studio clarinet, but this should be a good addition. It's so nice of you guys to offer the half price deal for previous clarinet owners🥰Keep going Soundpaint team!
Thanks Thomas. It is truly a different experience in Soundpaint. I sometimes wonder what it would look like - if we could visualize all the things that actually goes under on the hood. Millions of calculations per second - and yet so simple and effortless on the keys. The way it should be. Cheers, T
All the H.A.L instruments are wonderful and just feel right with so little effort from the user. Please continue the range as far and wide as you can. How about a trumpet as an addition to the woodwind range? I am already excited about the opportunities of playing natural and muted trumpet through H.A.L.
Amazing! SP is my first and usually last stop for new and old sounds. I am so glad to have come across SP. I can literally do anything I imagine with it and I can uninstall all the libraries and instruments I used before with their cumbersome ilock and other registration procedures.
Thank you Troels for this great new instrument (which I will play soon, of course) and for its history! Oh, and by the way, "chalumEAU" is pronounced in french with a final "O", like the one you hear in the english word "fOUr"! You welcome 😉
Dier Sir, I admire your creativity and musicality, there is a lot of love there and of course the whole assembly brings incredible energy that has a fantastic result, good health to you and your family, which you much more success in the next projects, Cheers!
Oh, this sounds so great. So absolutely real. Cant wait for this. Imagine soundpaint would or hope will, bring out other real instruments like brass or strings 🙌🏻
Oh we will and with the same notion of true playability and feeling "connected" to the instruments. It really helps having 127 dynamic velocity layers for strings!
All these instruments are instant buys for me. I am struggling to not put the Sax in everything I make. Sound paint has found a easy way to take my money. Downloading this now.
I hope to see a revision of Adagio on here, and hey maybe you can make a natural length Legato arc brass that goes with these types of instruments.
Sounds wonderful, so sh*t *p and take my money! 😛

loved your improv at beginning of this demo; want more of that, stunning use of clarinet poly legato
As a sax player that started on clarinet I can not believe how amazing this sounds. The soprano and tenor sax and alto flute are amazing BTW.
Thanks John - can't wait to hear what you do with them! Cheers, T
Absolutely amazing sounds Troels You are making your instruments talk! I hit 101 for 👍’s up…
Thank you Jim!

Really fall in love with 1967 Clarinet Paris and your performance Troels!

I love that the modulation is being used as expression. I love using the Clarinet on different types of tunes cause you don't here it often
Thank you for making these amazing plugins affordable for people like me who are not professional musicians. :)

@@Soundpaintmusic Thank you very much!! Sounds like a great place to start experimenting!! 🧡
This is great!! Another beautiful instrument from the "Soundpaint" folk!! Bravo!! 🙂🧡
Hmmm... the product page link isn't working.
Ah!! Fixed and purchased!!
However the sound paint must provide atleast a best instrumental library as a piece of demonstration!

Brilliant Troels. Looking forward to trying the clarinet! Is the speed module now available for alto flute as well?
The speed module is always available and be applied to anything you want.

I love the organic ''analogue?'' sound here.
Exactly. What you are hearing are millions of little "organic" calculations per second.
