Really informative and engaging review - thank you dB. Five weeks ago, I sold my full range of GR65 mouthpieces (I had the relevant ones for flugelhorn through to piccolo) because three use Monette mouthpieces were for sale (Prana B1 4S6 82, C1 5M, C2). I think it was fate, or a fortunate co-incidence, because I had been struggling increasingly to be consistent with sound and endurance. I had borrowed a Bach 1 from a friend and found it such a relief to get a consistent sound again. Anyway, now I've settled in on these mouthpieces and simply can't wait to pick the trumpet up. So, obviously, it's made a huge difference to the way I feel about playing my trumpet. In light of your review, I might consider purchasing a Unity in due course, to make a comparison. I don't play a Monette trumpet, so it's interesting to see the development of this new mouthpiece is specifically for non - Monette trumpets. Thank you again for all your engaging posts.

I hung in there .. You definitely kept my attention ( You can talk ! ) Your experience is different than mine regarding mouthpieces .. Several Bachs - Several Reeves - 2 Monettes - I’ve been using the BLMS 1 for years . It gives me the flexibility that I like .. No complaints. I’m from the school that doesn’t blame the mouthpiece because experience has shown me that the mouthpiece gets better the more I practice. ( 🤣 ) If Monette had a direct replacement for the model I’m playing now , I would probably spring for the bucks .. But because they don’t, I’ll keep what I have and just practice better …. Your video , however, was very enlightening .. Thanks .. Much appreciated…

dB check out the Harrelson Spectra Tone mouthpiece full modular, any size you want with interchangeable parts. They make hitech horns, too. It's the way to go in my estimation and for my hard earned money. I have a mpc on order.

I have had a pocket for a week..piston number 3..it often slowly returns to its position, despite putting oil...suggestions? A thousand thanks
Hi, first thing I would do is to give the horn a good cleaning. If that doesn't work then take it into your local trumpet shop to get it serviced. dB sends Love and Respect to you
Any thoughts on putting a piezo barrel on the unity? It’s the dilemma I’m facing. Drilling and soldering a $400+ mp.

Hi Edward, thank you for reaching out. I would have no problem doing the conversion because I love playing with electronics and that's part of what I do. All the mouthpieces I use get converted you just have to make sure you get the right person to do the conversion for you. Hope this helps
How would you describe it to a normal mouthpiece like bach/yamaha/schilke ones ?
Marcus, thanks for reaching out. I think I covered that in the video in the section when I talk about my Bach trumpet mouthpiece clone. With the Unity mouthpiece I don't feel the vibration in the valve block and with my Bach I feel it 100%. The Unity cup feels really different then my Bach clone. I cover all this towards the end of the video check it out. Love from dB

Hi Jose, I think if you like your current Monette mouthpiece then you should be all set. The Unity is definitely an upgrade. I like the Unity much better than the Resonance. 💯🎺♥️ from dB.

Hey Crashcourse I'll put it like this. Over the years I bought many Prana's I even got Monette
to make me some custom ones. I couldn't play any of them. The Unity mouthpiece is the first Monette Prana I can play comfortably and I love it. I don't love it more than my Bach 8B but it's a great piece. ❤️from dB
