Carnivore is the way! My husband & I are in our 50’s and have been ketovore/ carnivore for almost 6 months. We love Dr. Berry, Dr. Cywes, Dr. Chaffee, Dr. Baker, Dr. Westman & Judy Cho. Great job sharing your story!
That is an excellent list of resources. They have all been so helpful for me too! I live in the same town as Dr. Westman but happen to be working with Dr. Tro form the Low MD Podcast. He and his team of health coaches and the support community is all really great. So grateful for all of these Drs who have made so much great info available on UA-cam.
After 26 months of Keto and intermittent fasting I'm still short, bald and ugly so it didn't do anything for me except got me off 7 medications, 52 pounds and great blood work. Never going back!
My wife and I have been carnivores for almost 6 years. I am down 88 lbs and kept it off. I am not on any meds and bloodwork is perfect. The unexpected benefit was mental clarity. Well done you. Dr. Berry and his wife’s channel are great. The book is Lies my doctor told me. All info you provided is completely accurate.
YES... Yes I believe mental clarity is a benefit. Unfortunately I still can't spell...LOL. Getting through the holidays will definitely be an experience Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Funny you should as Debbie I don't think it will be a problem for me. That's the whole idea of doing this for these three months is to experiment and see what happens when I go off for a day are two. I know if I totally go off for one night it takes about two days to get back. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
I loved that you gave a mention to Dr Cywes! He's the one who got me to realize my addiction to carbs. It took me nearly a year to eliminate even sugar substitutes, but now I'm completely off all of them & feeling superb! I'm no longer tempted with beer & and cocktails, in fact, much less than the cinnamon rolls my husband makes. LOL. (The wonderful SMELL!!! EEEK!) Anyway, obviously, these good doctors are into something!! Works for me. 👍
I went Carnivore 2/5/2022 with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and fatty liver disease. I reversed my T2D in two months and fatty liver disease in four. I also lost 75lbs in eight months. A1C went from 8.2 to 5.6 in four months too! Carnivore saved my life for sure. I have been following Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Cywes for the last year and a half. I just moved here (Lake Denham) last month and want to help others heal with meat. Great video Rusty!😮
I've heard that it has helped a lot of people with type two diabetes. Actually there was a lot of arthritis stories also that I've read. But it's impressive but how many people have come off their meds. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Our stories are almost identical. I started 1 day before you and lost 13lbs a month for 4 straight months. I settled in after losing 75lbs [297 to 222]. My goal was 225. Definitely saved my life.
@@RustyNelson oh wow you are a godsend Merry Christmas. I am a 61-year-old female and been doing ketogenic off and on for over 30 I am focusing more on carnivore mostly eating bacon and eggs and intermittent fasting right now.. I would like to find a roommate to move in with or buy a place and find a roommate. Is there a website set up to make this an easy possibility? Do you know anybody looking for? I am very active and love pickleball. Do you use C8 MCT oil all the time? It is a life-changing product if you use it correctly.
I’m Marsha, RN- Your doctor responded appropriately to your diet! Yay!! I now teach keto to my patients. …but I just started Carnivore 2 months ago. I was stuck at 165lbs and thought at 57 this is where my body wanted to stay. I also had horrible knee and hip pain. I Am also very active. My weight dropped below my goal to 152! And my pain is gone. Even my body recovers better after HIIT classes! I’m feeling great!
Hi Marsha, I'm really very interested in going carnivore but I'm actually reluctant and a little scared because of the naysayers. l'm 52 yrs old and I've ve done Keto and lost 35bs in the past, hit a plateau and stuck. l'm confident I can start and stick with it. Do you mind sharing how you started and were you scared or nervous about taking the initial step. If so please share.
I was beyond thrilled to see the video you released today about the Carnivore Diet. I recently bought a home in The Villages and will be moving there next week. It’s nice to know that there’s at least one other person in my new hometown who has experienced first hand the miraculous health benefits that result from eating a meat based diet. 1n 2012, we accidentally reversed my 91-year-old mother’s Type 2 Diabetes without even knowing it was possible. In fact, we did such a good job that we almost killed her. We didn’t know that a simple change to a meat based diet would cause her blood sugar levels and blood pressure to normalize to the point where she no longer needed any diabetes medications or blood pressure medications. By continuing to give her those medications, her blood sugar and blood pressure dropped to dangerously low levels and she ended up in the hospital. Not only did her A1C score drop from 10 to 5.7 through diet alone, so many of her other health conditions disappeared, as well, such as psoriasis, swollen ankles and feet, sores on shins, protruding belly, etc… I’m planning to try the Carnivore 30-Day Challenge myself after I move to The Villages. I’m hoping it will be a little easier for me than it was for you since I don’t know anyone there, yet. Are you aware of any Carnivore support groups being formed there, yet? I’m looking forward to hearing about your experience with Dr. Cywes. I’m aware of at least two other physicians practicing in Florida who are huge proponents of prescribing CGMs to patients before they become diabetics: Dr. Annette Bosworth, aka “Dr. Boz” (Tampa) and Dr. Paul Kolodzik (licensed to do telemedicine in Florida). They both post videos on UA-cam. It’s amazing how many books have been published about the Carnivore Diet since we first learned about it in 2012. Please let me know if you are aware of any other books not included in the list below: 1) Dr. Philip Ovadia (cardiac surgeon) author of the book "Stay Off My Operating Table." 2) Dr. Shawn Baker (orthopedic surgeon) author of the book "The Carnivore Diet." 3) Dr. Anthony Chaffee (neurosurgeon) "PlantFreeMD" author of the book "Why We are Carnivores ... and How Plants Try to Poison You." My husband and I are carnivore for just over 3 months! We live in the Villages as well. Dr Baker is speaking at a Summit in Ocala this Saturday. World Equestrian Center, Ocala. It would be nice to see a group start up in the Villages to share accomplishments! Maybe we will get to meet sometime.
I’ve lived in The Villages for about 15 years. I was Keto for most of that time, and now I’m Ketovore, almost carnivore. Unlike you, I’m not tempted to go off plan, even at restaurants or whatever. I carry my own drink cup, or drink coffee instead of alcohol. It’s simply just a way of life now. Maybe we need a Carnivore Club!!
I would join! I’m new to carnivore, but have done Keto off and on. I’m also new to TV, and finding social events are very tough to navigate. Hubs isn’t interested in eating this way so I’m trying to do this alone. Not easy!

Hi from Canada. I just completed all of the research you outlined also. The information makes so much sense. Today was my first day on Carnivore. Thanks for your video.
Great video Rusty! Since following Dr Berrys advice I’ve lost over 60 pounds and rid myself of type two diabetes and got off all meds. Good luck with your new healthy journey.

.My husband and I are carnivores going on 3 yrs, I am 75 he is 82 and I have to say it is also an age reducing diet, people think I am 60 when I shop with my 54 yr old daughter people think I am her sister, the first time she said sister that's my mother, I just give them the thumbs up. Tonight I roasted a large rib roast we cut it down the middle and we each ate our half and were so full and satisfied. easy clean up, hardly take any time to shop go to the meat department and we are out lol. Happy for you continue to spread the message.
Hey Rusty!!! My husband and I have been Carnivore (keto occasional) for about 6 months. We have each lost about 35 pounds. My experience was a loss of 10 lbs in the first month with the loss of inflammation and water weight...and a steady 5 lbs a month since. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with it as sometimes it seems extreme to others and hard to really talk about with our friends or family.
That is awesome! Yes it's hard to explain to people that are not educated. You just have to do it's good for you. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
I’m watching this video and have been on carnivore since the end of August. For those starting out this is a great video. It is comprehensive and reflects my own experience at 54 years old. I am no longer on an antidepressant, I have had to cut my type 2 diabetes in half. Still need the BP medicine. I was 247 at 5’9” . Today I bc am 226. So I still have a way to go. From previous experience, I will probably see rapid improvement in blood pressure once I get to 190 lbs. it’s no longer a matter of “if” but “when.” Again, thank you for making this video. It is good stuff.
Your videos are always so timely. I recently lost 45lbs on low carb/keto/carnivore. And ‘fell off’ recently so thank you for inspiring me to get ‘back on’. I often thought of starting a TV club for like minded people with preferred food restrictions to socialize and share info. It’s hard to socialize with others that just ‘don’t get it’ especially when they invite you to their homes and you find yourself accepting the ‘one cheat won’t hurt’. But it does. It is so hard to ‘get back on’ once you ‘cheated’. Especially in the beginning. I too follow Dr Berry among many, they are always inspiring. Luv Dr Eric Berg too. Good luck with your journey and thanks for sharing.
Dana, Just get back on if you want to it's nothing more than a trip to the grocery store. Eating things that you're not supposed to and smacking seems to be a mental event not a hunger event for me. I think once you know that it's easier to fight it. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
LOL 😂, I'm 63 5'10 170. I was 205 and lost 35 and as a reward I baked brownies with icing on them. It was like doing drugs and went back up to 192. I said enough and cut out the brownies and bread and Honey Nut Cherrios this time . And I even lift weights 5 days a week in the hot Florida heat outside. But it's your diet that controls your weight more than anything else.
I would join if you started a club. I’m trying to eat carnivore or at least Keto, but it’s difficult here in TV. All social events revolve around junk food, and I’m a sugar addict dealing with T2 Diabetes. It’s frustrating having to avoid social events.

Hi Rusty, UA-cam suggested your video so I gave it a listen. My husband and I are both 60 and we live in AZ. My husband started doing carnivore about 7 weeks ago. He also is having his bloodwork tested around Thanksgiving. He finds this way of eating effortless, his weight and blood sugar are down. I think he has a level of skepticism about the long term effects but time will tell! For now he feels great and his morning blood sugar is low! Amazing! He still marvels at the simplicity of this way of eating and he isn't hungry all the time. Best wishes on your journey.
My husband and I have been carnivore over three months I had diabetes, fatty liver and diverticulitis. Since going carnivore I've reversed all of them The only issue I had was my first diverticulitis attack since going carnivore. I ate a cheese dip and pork rinds during the holidays and boy it wiped me out. I have to stick to beef, butter, eggs and bacon Other than that I've lost thirty pounds, no more bleeding gums, I'm not winded anymore, less anxiety, I just feel incredibly better Happy New Year and go carnivore!!
Thank you Rusty! I'd been on keto for a while and fell off the wagon, my husband (we've been watching your channel for over a year) sent this to me to get us both back on track. Also, I'm a nurse and scrolling through these comments, I'm practically in tears of joy. All these people reversing type II diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver disease; it's all just so wonderful! G-d bless! Also, HEADS UP, if you ever go off you feel those highs and lows of your blood sugar soaring and crashing MUCH more than you ever did before, so don't go too hog wild!
That's one reason I got this CGM as a motivation. And it definitely works because I don't see that thing going crazy in the morning. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Another great informational video on your personal journey as a carnivore. So many of our senior citizens are so unhealthy and spending more money on meds than they do on food every month. When they ask me how I stay stay in such good shape I always share with them my eating habits. Sad to say they believe the bad advice their PCP’s are giving them and think they will die without their meds. Makes me so sad. Keep spreading the good news about your journey to heath as I can see from the comments you are inspiring others to do their own research. Thank you Rusty!
Yay! A carnivore in The Villages!!! I started the carnivore diet in 2022. Immediately dropped 25 pounds-like in 2 weeks! All joint pain left me. My brain fog cleared up. It was fabulous. This year, I had some stressors, plus moving from Texas to TV, I fell off the wagon. Joint pain is back. I gain about 10 pounds back, but NOT all of it, which is kind of amazing. Thanks for the reminder to get myself back on the Carnivore Diet. It really is life changing! Keep us posted on your progress! Let’s start a movement in TV so we can get Carnivore dishes on the menus in the restaurants. 👍🥩🥓🧈🥚🍤😀❤️
Welcome to the villages. Yes get back on it if it made you feel better and that was good for you. For me that was huge the joint pain and the brain fog. Just remember how good it felt and it may be easier to get back on Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Good morning I have all the same health conditions as you, this the perfect video for me at the right time.65 and 214 lbs 5 ft 10 .Can you show us what you eat in a normal day. Thanks
I feel your pain! The move to TV a year ago got me off track too. Just had to start a second BP med for HBP, and blood sugar is a bit too high. Trying to get back on track now, but not easy here in TV while trying to have a social life too.
I live in The Villages and am Ketovore. I am trying to find a doctor that understands this style of eating. My current doctor wants to put me on a statin. Thanks 😊
I have been doing carnivore/ketovore since December 2022 and this will be my lifestyle for now on! I’m 55 and had arthritis in my hands and had trouble twisting door knobs, now I can put my body weight on my hand! I’ve lost 20 lbs. and my hashimoto is getting better, I was able to lower my medication within 3 month on carnivore!
Hey Rusty! Welcome to the carnivore club! I joined in March 2023 due to a plethora of gastro intestinal issues. Sticking around for the carnivore glow and a return to youthful vigor. I have a way to go on that, as now that the ugly noticeable health factors are improving, my naturopathic doctor is drilling down to erradicate yeast, mold and possibly one other issue that are keeping me from really excelling. In the meantime, to be able to eat without incident, sleep well, have zero joint and bone pain and improved strength is an awesome start. This way of eating is saving my life and future.
Eating out, going to pot lucks, dinners with friends, etc. are more challenging for those of us on low-carb lifestyles. But it can be done. A local group or Villagers club would be a great place to get together to share helpful hints/tips on how to make it easier.

Rusty, I'm so happy that you found this way of eating and that you're seeing improvements in your health. My husband and I began it about 2 1/2 yrs. ago and have maintained a 25 lb. weight loss. Hubby has been able to cut his BP meds in half and I have eliminated them altogether. We have added a few things back into our diet so I would say ketovore describes us now. Congratulations on your progress and I hope you continue to see positive improvements.
Cathy thanks so much. Yes no one Dr. Has cut my blood pressure medicine and half will see how that goes. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Rusty, I’m enjoying following you. I started watching your informative Villages videos and wasn’t even sure how I initially leaned about your page, but now know it’s through the carnivore community. After 4 years of living this lifestyle, I have never felt healthier in my life and glad to hear your journey is going well too. Good luck at your Dr. Cywes appointment.
I started down the road of carnivore when a doctor I was seeing for extreme acid reflux told me “you have a good idea what gives you heartburn. Stop eating those foods!” Great advice. I’m glad I chose to listen 👍
Hi I've been carnivore now for over 3 yrs, and Keto before that. I love the lifestyle and wholeheartedly believe in it as a healthy way of life. WHY? because through the use of those diets I overcame A LOT of health problems. It's always wonderful to hear/see other people who are actively pursuing this lifestyle and enjoying the benefits of it. At 63, i'm so thankful that I found this lifestyle. Judy Cho is awesome! Same with Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Cywes and SO SO many others - but Dr. Ken Berry is the main person that I credit for bringing me back to good health.
Congratulations! Dr. Berry has a great video on "normal" A1C levels. He discusses what "normal" means (standard deviation for Americans tested and plotted on a bell curve) vs optimal. It is quite enlightening.
@@user-km6xc9nm2w I found Sten this week. He brings something to the table that most of the other keto/carnivore docs don’t. His research and presentation is meticulous and he makes complex chemistry and biology understandable to laymen. Highly recommend him.
Great video Rusty, and the most important video ever by you. Dr. Berry, and Berg on YT changed my life as I will be 67 next month and health is great. Doing keto with fasting and off BP, cholesterol and refulx meds and a total life changer. I lifted weights up until 4 years ago and stopped. I added TRT 3 months ago to my lfe again and started lifting with it and I am doing amazing and have muscles again and getting more at 67 next month!! I needed to fix a fatty liver also and that made big improvements, So happy!
Matthew definitely amazing how many people's personal experiences have shown that they've come off of medications. I know Dr. Cywes is going to move in that direction for may and hopefully it works out expressly a fine get off the statin's. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H

I am doing carnivore diet and I am soon moving to the villages. Hopefully mid January. Thanks for sharing. I was hoping to find others who is also doing carnivore.
Thanks Rusty for the inspiring video! I haven't gone full carnivore yet, but I've been low carb/keto for years now, off and on. Basically, I've figured out that I only need to eat one meal a day and that's been helping a lot. Now if I adjust to carnivore I wonder what will happen! I'm happy to see your diet journey take off and you're an inspiration to so many others. One other book that I'd love to recommend: "The Obesity Code" by Dr. Jason Fung. He has a lot of UA-cam videos too, very fascinating.
Hey Rusty. First off, I wanted to thank you for your channel, as I followed you through your journey to The Villages, and wound up following in your footsteps after my wife died early in '22. I didn't realize it at the time, but I wound up buying a house right around the corner from you. I hope i run into to you at some point, and get to thank you in person. I'm also excited by your introduction to Carnivore, as I have been following Dr. Paul Saladino, Dr. Berry, Dr. Shawn Baker and, most recently, Dr. Cywes, over the last 3 years, and have been essentially carnivore all that time. You're on the right track, and clearly doing your own research, which is a great thing. Glad you caught on before it cost you your health. God bless and stay salty. :>)

Thank you so much for this video! I've been carnivore for 3 months. I am currently living in The Villages too. Like you, I did a ton of research before starting and found so many resources on UA-cam. I really like Dr. Anthony Chaffee and Dr. Ovadia. Dr. Ovadia is a heart/thoracic surgeon who is also all in for carnivore. Like you, I just was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. My goal wasn't really to lose weight (although, that's a great benefit, and I have lost 16 pounds), it was just to feel better. On August 23, 2023 I had basal joint surgery on my left thumb due to severe osteoarthrosis. When I went back to the surgeon to get the stitches out, he and his staff were amazed at my recovery. I have full use of my hand at this point and the interesting thing is that you can barely see the scar. The strangest thing for me is when I tell people how great I feel and my energy levels are even throughout the day, they look at me like I'm out of my mind. I've had several people challenge me and I tell them that "I will stay out of your kitchen, if you stay out of mine." Do you find that too? They always ask about fruit and vegetables. Dr. Anthony Chaffee has several videos explaining how fruits and vegetables are really not that great for you. I apologize if this is long-winded, but I'm just so pleased that there are other people in this community that are experiencing such fantastic results!!
They carol thanks for jumping in and subscribing. Yes I find people tend to look at me cross eyed. But then I'd tell them that I'm getting the blood test to go along well that things are looking better and I feel much better and I just hope that they are doing whenever they need to do to make themselves healthy. Wow! Your video really hit home! You enthusiasm, your commitment, and sources were spectacular! I've got many related age/medical issues but weight and carbs are the current focus. I watch Dr. Ken Berry everyday (and he was great today)! Way to go, Rusty ... you nailed this video (youtube connected the dots) and I'm interested in that Post-Thanksgiving documentary and your results. GW
I really needed this video today. Just before turning this on, I rummaged for something to eat that would satisfy my sweet tooth. I’ve even considered going to the grocery store, because, being on carnivore since August, I have nothing in the sweet catigory. When you said you’d gained 20 pounds quickly just from going out to eat, it hit me that I absolutely dont want to put 20 lbs back on. Many thanks!
I’m a retired health care professional who went to college in the late 80’s to early 90’s. I was trained to believe that low fat and “good carbs” was necessary to avoid cardio vascular disease….I was bamboozled! I’m recovering from chronic aches and terrible reflux since childhood- all by eating a ketogenic lifestyle. I was able to feel better in mere days!
Thanks, Rusty. I'm definitely following your progress on this diet. I'm going to be doing this myself. Like you, I'm single and dine out a lot with friends. That will be the tough part. Eating right while eating out.

Glad to hear there is another Carnivore in the Villages. It's been 15 months for us. We promote this lifestyle and ALL the Doctors you mentioned.... and many more. Stick with it and continue to heal.
Geez I am 63 years young and every ailment you described I have. I have been carnivore for only 7 weeks but losing weight and feeling so much better. No desire to ever change.
Carnivore 5 months. Hardest time is when my kids come into town and trying to eat at restaurants in TV. Most of them cook with seed oils and I really don't do well with that. I will say my son and I went to Prima and I got a double portion of grouper with some shrimp on the side. I got asparagus and gave it to my son. I still drink occasional wine and beer which actually have lower carbs than you think. And I still love avocado. Otherwise no carbs for 5 months. Have not had my labs redone, But they weren't too bad to begin with. My goal which everyone needs to have if they're going to start such a drastic change is to reduce the pain in my hip and swelling in my legs. And of course lose weight. Post menopausal women have a harder time losing, but I have lost 20#. I definitely feel better.
Karen area is no real reason that have seed of oil is because your kids come into town. At least not that I can think of haiku with the olive oil and avocado oil. Asparagus is not a bad vegetable have if you're going to have one I'm pretty sure glass of wine is OK and beer is definitely off the list I would think. I've had a few drinks while I'm out and it's usually a martini are something like that that's pretty much straight liquor. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
@RustyNelson What I meant was most restaurants cook with seed oils. Especially canola. I can tell. A 6 oz glass of wine has 4.5 gm carbs. My IPA's have about 5-6 gm. Those days that I may have a beer or wine I consider the day "carnivorish" as Neisha Berry calls it. Try to keep carbs below 10. For me it is dairy that throws me out of ketosis. But I'm looking at the long-term and this is what works for me. Even if slow, as long as I continue to lose weight I am happy. 😊
@@karenstasik2979 to me, the trickiest part of going Carnivore or Keto “ish” is coming out of ketosis and then trying to get back to it. I would love to see research of what yo-yoing in and out of ketosis does to the body. We know yo-yo dieting is harmful in many ways. Does anyone know of quality research on ketosis yo-yoing?
I'm 65 and have been carnivore since June. Dropped 20 pounds and I've also added in resistance training. Keep at it! You'll continue to be amazed by how you look and feel. Also watch Dr. Chaffee. He's amazing and very knowledgeable.
I'm 63, low carb, no processed food, no sugar, for 6 years now... feel great. Things got even better after eliminating alcohol a year ago. I have non-symptomatic Diverticulitis, FH, Hashimoto, and pre-diabetic... only med is levothyroxine. Low carb is the way to go!
I jumped into a keto diet 5 months ago after researching and being newly diagnosed with T2DM. Went full carnivore/ketovore 2 months later. Recent labs show I’ve reversed all the negative numbers and no longer diabetic. You are so fortunate that you found a doc to work with you & support this way of eating. My docs are totally against it and kept pushing meds and bariatric surgery…until my appointment yesterday when she saw my weight loss & lab results. She was almost incredulous. Lol! No more pushback! Congrats on your success with the PHD. Huzzah!! I subscribed and will be following.
Hi Rusty. Never thought I’d find another carnivore in The Villages. I’ve been doing BBBE since June. I love it. The fact that I don’t have cravings is a meticulous. When ever I have been on a diet before there were days that I tortured myself thinking about all the junk I loved to consume. A UA-cam channel I can recommend is My Zero Carb Life with Kelly Hogan. Good luck with your journey.
Great video Rusty!! I’ve also been doing carnivore this year. Hubby and I have been in The Villages for almost 1 1/2 years. We love(d) checking out all the restaurants and drinks and desserts. I say I put on “the freshman 20lbs” after we lived here a year! I knew I had to change my eating. I’ve done many diets in my lifetime. This carnivore diet definitely resonated with me. It has helped me lose my freshman 20lbs and more! I’m about 90% carnivore 10% other for my week(s), in general. Side note-I’ve taken some of The Villages Enrichment Academy courses. One was on dishes to take to driveway parties. All but 1 was plant based and the nutritionist and her helpers were plant based diet people. Another class, on brain enrichment, is also teaching the Mediterranean diet is the best for your brain. A book she recommends (in general, for her brain enrichment class) says most doctors are often closed off to other ideas, if it isn’t in their field of expertise!!! Again, great video!!
Great to hear your story! I've been clean ingredients Keto for 5 years and transitioned to Carnivore 5 months ago. Following Dr. Ken D. Berry since June 2018. Down 150 lbs. It's a journey and a lifestyle, PHD, Proper Human Diet. Never going back to the S.A.D., Standard American Diet.
Hey Rusty, I’m in the Villages closing on a house on the 28th. I’m carnivore also and will be at Glenview CC tonight(Monday) for all-the-meat you can eat
I’ve been here in TV a year now, and didn’t know about this all-the-meat you can eat Monday’s at Glenview CC. Thx! It’s a long drive from the southern villages, but will check it out at least once to see if it’s worth the drive. 😆
Congratulations on your weight loss Rusty! Here is another recommendation as you head down the rabbit hole of this lifestyle: Vinnie Tortorich. He is a fitness trainer, and has an AWESOME podcast, book, and several documentaries. He has interviewed tons of doctors, nutritionists and other experts (including ones you referenced). His creation is NSNG - no sugar no grains. So, a bit looser than carnivore, but everyone has to find what works best for them as an individual. Looking forward to your next video!
You’re doing the right thing. You’re eating exactly what humans are designed to eat. Plant material (veggies, fruit, grain) is only for emergencies and something to eat if meat is not available.. til meat can be found again. In our times , meat is always available- so never need to munch on plants. The satiety effect is not triggered while eating plant material.. only when eating meat (the fat). When you’re eating plant material your brain automatically thinks you’re going into starvation mode, so will never trigger satiaty. Never.. Your brain is trying to get you to cram as much plant material as possible since it has a near impossible time metabolizing anything out of it. If you look at the nutrition on a can of string beans or a bag of broccoli, you can pretty much disregard that - your body is only going to a metabolize a minuscule amount of the nutrition shown available in it. Also.. cholesterol levels (lipids) are truly in error. “High cholesterol “ is not a factor- what is is turning out to be is: triglycerides to HDL ratio (1.5 or leas) , A1C (less than 5). Blood pressure, inflammation markers, fasting insulin… those are the things you need to worry about. As a matter of fact, if you only eat meat and animal fat that alone will keep your triglyceride to HDL level Perfect i.e. very low just - That alone will affect all the rest of your markers mentioned above and bring them to normal/low levels. Also- single in The Villages!?! Man, you gotta be a popular man. LoL. 😆
There si a bunch to learn about this and think many docs are starting to look at it differently for sure. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Glad to hear you have found the correct road to true health. Dr. Berry and Dr. Cywes are top notch as is Judy Cho. I'm excited to hear about your consultation with Dr. Cywes. You need to understand that keto, ketovore, carnivore need to become your life style and not just a short term solution to maintain all the health benefits you are observing. Another book by Dr. Berry is Kicking Ass After 50. Continued good health.
Dr. Berry is amazing! Also, Dr. Phillip Ovadia (a cardiac surgeon), Dr. Anthony Chaffee (neurosurgeon), are all amazing! And David Diamond gives a great talk on statins. Always do your own research!
Yes I would agree a research is the key to starting any type of life change like this. I do watch all them and I think they're all good I just pick out some of things that pertain to me. Thanks for watching. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Rusty, I followed the Atkins Diet and lost 25 pounds in 30 days. As soon as I started to add carbs back into the diet, I gained it all back. I learned through trial and error and found the Weight Watcher Program - a program I could live with. I've lost the 25 pounds and have kept the weight off for 3 years. Good luck!
Awesome video, Rusty. So glad you took the initiative to get healthier. You look great and happy you're feeling so much better. My husband and I have played with low carb several times and lost weight but gained most of it back. Our overall health is good but really want to keep weight off since we're older. Thanks again for the video!
Yes I've played with low CARB many times but this is different. You need to do your research and make sure you're not cheating on anything. And each person's different if you listen to Judy Cho and even small things can affect your help,. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H

The joint thing happened to me as well, and after puppies and not much sleep for 8 weeks I knew I had to do something drastic. It is amazing how much difference a lowcarb diet makes. Sleep is important, too! So hard to wrap your head around it because of the lies we’ve been told. Thanks for sharing!
Rusty, great idea to share your story. I'm struggling with carb cravings, my cholesterol is high, glucose is fine. I hope this motivates me to get moving on making a change.
A lot to digest. No pun intended. I’m definitely going to do some research of my own. We have a lot in common. Veteran, pilot, close in age, arthritic hands, occasional back and joint issues. Thanks for a very thought provoking video. Naples FL
@@miketaylor7305 It's is provoking to a lot of people because we have been brainwashed for over 50 years with the message that saturated fats, thus, meat is bad.
Thanks for making this video, Rusty! I am also trying this way of eating and enjoy the mental clarity, less painful joints, and decreased bowel issues as well. It would be fabulous if a carnivore club forms at The Villages because it would give me one more reason to move there!
Thank you! You too! Yes it is amazing how just a few changes can make a big difference. I will have an update to my journey here real soon. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Hey rusty... so happy I came across your videos. I live in Lake pan . I have been ketovore for 100 days as if yesterday. Today is day 101 and I'm going total carnivore... I have lost 40 lbs , no more joint pain, especially in my knee . Also i have so much energy its crazy. Getting excited to see what else i can do with adding more intermittent fasting. here's to the next 100 days .keep up the good work buddy.
Great job, Rusty. Keep it up. Dr. Berry is great! He helped me. Over six months my labs and weight have improved a lot. At 73 that is promising for the types of joint surgeries I’ve had to have…too long a story. My inflammation is down, which helps deal with rheumatoid arthritis. If I lose ten more pounds I’ll weigh what I did in 8th grade. 🤣
Happy to have found you my husband and I have been carnivore since July 27 2023 . He was on 2 kinds of diabetic medication , fixing to be put on a third one . Happy to say he also is off all medications now . We live near Plant city Fl , so we want to meet some of these good doctors you have been talking about .
Russ: I started Carnivore on 8-7-23. As of today, 11-5-23, I have lost 39.4 pounds. I am eating BBBE plus some cheese, grilled shrimp, some chicken, some pork, and I drink only carbonated water, made with my Soda Stream machine. I am 99.99% Carb free these days. I had a of cake on my birthday, and I had had a bite or two of potato salad. I had the same puffy hands and semi arthritis feeling in my hands, and they are both greatly improved. I had blood work on 8-3-23 and I had them redone on 11-3. My A1c dropped from 6.4 to 5.7. Thanks for the links to the resources in the description. Another doctor to look up is Dr. Shawn Baker. He is a well known on UA-cam. I think you will enjoy his input as well. Continued success.
Thanks appreciate you dropping in and the input. Yes I know most of these people but I can watch them also those were my three primary Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Great video Rusty! Highly recommend Dr. Paul Mason also for the history of big food and politics. The lies we have been told, the food pyramid etc., I’m 64 and 2.5yrs carnivore, never going back to carbs and fibre. Now in the gym doing weights and exercises I never imagined I could do ever!, like pull-ups, dips etc. Feel like I have my health and strength back.
Thank you for getting the word out! I have been eating strict keto for over 2 years. I follow Dr. Ken Berry and watch his videos almost daily. It truly is the PHD (proper human diet).
You came up on my feed..as I can't sleep. I have been on carnivore since mid-February and have lost 20kg. The last couple of days I've been off plan and boy,I'm paying for it .Achy shoulder and awful indigestion. I needed to see this to give me the kick in the bum I need. Back on it tomorrow, thank you .Regards from New Zealand 🇳🇿. A carnivore channel thats good to watch,is,Zero Carb ,with Dave Mac. He does lots of interviews, he'd might like to interview you😊
Hi Rusty, I am from Lancaster Co., PA and we winter in Juno Beach, FL. We are coming for a lifestyle visit on 12/26. We love all of your videos, but this one hits home. Thanks for putting this out there and being open to sharing with us. I have just made an appointment with Dr. Cywes in Jupiter!. I would not have known about him if it wasn't for this video. I am sure that you know, that being from Lancaster County is a huge battle with carbs. I think we have seen all of your videos and they have been very valuable to us. My husband even had a nice conversation with Crystal Andrus after viewing your Medicare video. Thanks for doing what you are doing - you are helping a lot of people with information about The Villages and so many other things. Looking forward to your next video, PA neighbor....... Go Eagles!
I've been Keto/Carnivore for over 7 years. When I started at age 53, I lost 70 pounds in 7 months. I am no longer pre-diabetic, my vision improved and my aches and pains went away. I am now approaching age 61. I have my labs tested 2x a year and they are always amazing. My triglycerides are super low, HDL is >80 (the other # s don't matter). It's a change of mindset, because we have been raised to be afraid of fat and cholesterol. The truth is out there...and I also have diverticulosis and have had 2 bouts of diverticulitis prior to starting Keto, as far as that, I'm been good so far!
Jon That would be great if people just took a second to look or even look at the videos. I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in life we forgets a look at taking care of ourselves. I know I have. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Hi Rusty. I thought you looked like you had lost weight in your previous video. You look good and I’m glad you’re feeling better. Looking forward to the rest of your journey. 😊
Thanks. Two things I can say without a doubt Get the blood work done so you know where you started. And make sure you consult a doctor. Also don't try and do it all at once. Just cutting out the sugar and starchy carbs will give you some fast results. All the best on your journey. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Yaaaahoooooo!!!!! BBB&E for the win!!!! I LOVE it and my lab results/diagnostics are FABULOUS! Nobody believes me when I tell them I’m 52 😊 I’m so glad you discovered the proper human diet! Dr Berry, Judy, Dr Cywes, Dr Anthony Chaffee et al are amazing!!!
So glad that you feel better. It’s amazing how good we can feel compared to how we feel while eating the SAD way of eating. I have been Ketovore since 2018( I do like an occasional salad or some blueberries). I am single as well and find that my way of eating does not hinder my social life. Good luck, hope to meet you when I do my lifestyle visit.
This is awesome timing! I have pain on my left side over my stomach, swelling fingers and ankles and issues with my bowels. I was just awake last night sick to my stomach. My doctor said that I have Crohn's Disease. I had blood work twice and it shows that I don't have Crohn's. My doctor still subscribed medicine for it. No doubt that they want to just give you medicine. I will definitely try changing my diet. Thanks so much for sharing this information!!!
In 2003, I had a electrical heart condition that needed RFA to correct. The cardiologist was concerned that my LDL-C was 180 and put me on the sick and SAD diet, then the macrobiotic diet under a nutritionist to get my LDL-C down. Couldn't take statins because it made my liver enzymes go through the roof and did not lower my LDL-C. In 2 years, I gained 70 lbs. and T2DM. I did research in 2005 (I am in medicine and know how to read clinical research). I looked at studies dating back from the 50s and 60s on T2DM and what treatments worked. I went Paleo and ate about 20 g of carbs per day for a year. In one year, I lost 60 lbs. and lost T2DM. People told me I looked 10 years younger. This paleo diet included red meat, btw. 6 months ago, I tried eating 4 fatty-steaks per week, plus 2 sticks of butter, chicken, pork, and tuna. My LDL-C went from 99 to 86. Explain that!
I’m really proud of you for this Carnivore Journey & that it is working for you! Please share your Thanksgiving results: weight loss, A1C, LDL levels etc.
Hey Rusty, I just started exploring Carnivore about a month ago. It all makes sense to me. I started off by cutting out all my pretzel & potato chip snacks, then the gummy vitamins. I just started buying the steaks and hamburger meat.
The vitamin racket is a big money making racket. Especially when most of the vitamins go right through you before they even have a chance to be absorbed.
So frustrated. I eat keto (health improved, lost weight, feel great) and my ldl went super high (+250). NOW due to high ldl want me to go on statins. So frustrating. High LDL has no symptoms....but due to the way I eat, I feel healthy, have energy, etc. Great job and thank you for sharing. It's funny how eating fat does NOT make you fat. THANK YOU for sharing your journey. ❤️❤️❤️
Back in 1998 I smoked pot and started having panic attacks. I went to the doctors and they put me on high blood pressure medication. I went back and they put it higher. I said decided that I wasn't taking any drugs. Finally I stopped smoking pot and have no issues. But if I go to a doctor for a CDL physical my blood pressure goes up. I was told by a nice female doctor that I have white coat syndrome. Even today if I go to the doctors, as soon as I walk in my blood pressure goes up and they insist I get on medication. LOL 😂, if I took medication for over 25 years for high blood pressure... I'd probably be dead. I'm 63 5'10 170 and still pump iron 5 days a week. And lost 35 pounds. The doctors have become the new lawyers... anything for money and to get you to keep coming back.
Glad you became aware of the Carnivore way of eating and the amazing doctors and nutritionists that are trying to spread the word and help people to transform their health. I am nearly 65 and carnivore over 2 years. Never felt better! Gut issues reversed and inflammation greatly reduced.
Hi Brenda thanks for joining. Yes I've already felt that changes in my own body and look forward to sharing them with people. But like I said it is my own experiment my own journey but I'm having fun with it. And hopefully getting much more healthy. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
@@RustyNelson The problem is finding a naturpath doctor who accepts Medicare. Does Dr. Cywes accept Medicare? I live in Southwest Florida near Venice. Anyone on here in my area who has found a naturpath doctor around here who accepts medicare.
Hi Rusty! I am also doing Carnivore, well, sort of…ha, ha! I have a friend who, because of a bad car accident, had surgery with spinal fusions. Over a period of time, his weight was close to 400lb. He decided to do the Carnivore diet. He was explaining this to 3 of us and we had never heard of it and said to ourselves, how can anyone be healthy on this diet?? A few months later I found Dr. Ken Berry’s video’s and decided to “step my toe” into this diet. So I increased my protein and cut my carb’s. I wanted to lose about 10-12lbs and get rid of some of this visceral fat,. I have lost 10lbs. And find it so interesting how much I am satisfied throughout the day on 1 large meal plus a small meal, most of the time. I am coming to the Villages for a lifestyle visit January 15-19. Coming down solo, so if you’d like to meet up for a meal, I wouldn’t mind the company.
Carnivore is half ways there.
Great video…thanks for sharing. Do you still go out to dinner with friends? And if so what do you order to stay on track?
6 months is not enough time to celebrate...
Way to go to lift each other up !
After 26 months of Keto and intermittent fasting I'm still short, bald and ugly so it didn't do anything for me except got me off 7 medications, 52 pounds and great blood work. Never going back!
Too funny. Congratulations!
I’m a carnivore advocate and I think you are doing a service for retired people like me who need to hear this the most. Thanks
Rusty doesn't mess around. He hit the ground running with his info.
@@RustyNelsonHow will this work with your restaurant review videos with Bob and Liz?
EEEK!)
Anyway, obviously, these good doctors are into something!! Works for me. 👍
That is amazing. I hope those around you are inspired.

Not only did her A1C score drop from 10 to 5.7 through diet alone, so many of her other health conditions disappeared, as well, such as psoriasis, swollen ankles and feet, sores on shins, protruding belly, etc…
I’m planning to try the Carnivore 30-Day Challenge myself after I move to The Villages.
Are you aware of any Carnivore groups in The Villages? If not, would you consider starting one?
My husband and I are carnivore for just over 3 months! We live in the Villages as well. Dr Baker is speaking at a Summit in Ocala this Saturday. World Equestrian Center, Ocala. It would be nice to see a group start up in the Villages to share accomplishments! Maybe we will get to meet sometime.
I’ll join you if you start a club here! Thank you for the great information :)
These are all the people that I also follow. Isn't it amazing?
Not easy!
@@DeborahLynnM please search The Villages Nextdoor group for “meat up.” A villager named Karen G is trying to determine if we have enough interest for a carnivore Meating/Meat up group. She already has a good speaker in mind.

Please let me know if you start a Carnivore club in The Villages, or if you hear of anyone else starting one. Thanks!
I would join if you started a club. I’m trying to eat carnivore or at least Keto, but it’s difficult here in TV. All social events revolve around junk food, and I’m a sugar addict dealing with T2 Diabetes. It’s frustrating having to avoid social events.
please search The Villages Nextdoor group for “meat up.” A villager named Karen G is trying to determine if we have enough interest for a carnivore Meating/Meat up group. She already has a good speaker in mind.
I believe we can easily generate enough interest to pull something together. Especially if we focus on a January start date. Thoughts?
Hi Rusty, UA-cam suggested your video so I gave it a listen. My husband and I are both 60 and we live in AZ. My husband started doing carnivore about 7 weeks ago. He also is having his bloodwork tested around Thanksgiving. He finds this way of eating effortless, his weight and blood sugar are down. I think he has a level of skepticism about the long term effects but time will tell! For now he feels great and his morning blood sugar is low! Amazing! He still marvels at the simplicity of this way of eating and he isn't hungry all the time. Best wishes on your journey.
My husband and I have been carnivore over three months
I had diabetes, fatty liver and diverticulitis.
Since going carnivore I've reversed all of them
The only issue I had was my first diverticulitis attack since going carnivore. I ate a cheese dip and pork rinds during the holidays and boy it wiped me out. I have to stick to beef, butter, eggs and bacon
Other than that I've lost thirty pounds, no more bleeding gums, I'm not winded anymore, less anxiety, I just feel incredibly better
Happy New Year and go carnivore!!
Sounds like it has really helped you. So happy for you. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
I listen to Dr Ken Barry often! I’ve been on the diet for 4month or so. Lost 17 pounds. I helped my skin problems & arthritis.
While that's great a year exciting! Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Eating out, going to pot lucks, dinners with friends, etc. are more challenging for those of us on low-carb lifestyles. But it can be done. A local group or Villagers club would be a great place to get together to share helpful hints/tips on how to make it easier.
Agreed!

Absolutely! I live in the Villages and would love to join a keto/carnivore club.
I go for the meat and non starch vegs. When at a burger place I don’t eat the bead nor have sauce added. Ask for knife and fork and eat.

How jealous am I!!!! Dr. Cywes is going to be one of your doctors!!!! Hope he is as great in person as he is on his videos. Cant wait for your update😊
Also, Sten Ekberg has a great way of explaining all that.

Go Rusty! On the same carnivore/keto journey. Dr Chafee is another good source of info!
We Villager carnivores are hunting through Publix to score on the rack of ribs and ribeye steaks before they are all gone.
HaHa! Publix at Magnolia Plaza for me. 😂 We’ll be shopping for meat at the new Clermont Costco soon though.
Catching this video late but good for you. Very good speaker. No fuss, just get to the point, the occasional humor is perfect!

Great video! I have lost a total of 175lbs from my heaviest weight since doing Keto/Carnivore for about 2yrs now. Feel much better and still trying to lose at least 25lbs more. Good luck with everything!!!!
You got this! I think the key to doing this is setting aside a month for you really get started on it and have your Dr. follow along. It's all about discipline. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H

Love Dr. Chaffee! He’s also very easy on the eyes, lol. 😬
Kelly is awesome❣
Hey Rusty,
I’m in the Villages closing on a house on the 28th.
I will be at Glenview today for all you can eat steak!!!🥩 😋

LoL. 😆

Rusty,
I followed the Atkins Diet and lost 25 pounds in 30 days.
Good luck with your journey. Lots of good info here! I had to make major dietary changes recently and I feel so much better.
Thank you!
I love Dr. Cywes. He’s got a no nonsense manner about him that makes me want to do what he says. I’m glad you’re doing so well.
My husband and I been doing keto for 2 years and now doing carnivore for 2 months awesome info video first time watching you thanks
Congratulations that sounds great and hope I can keep away Diverticulitis. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Rusty, this is great video. I know a lot of people will probably redirect their lifestyle and get healthier. Great great job.
Thank you this is great
I am just starting the journey
I will follow your channel ❤
Great show Russ, i love that your thinking of staying young..
There are many people staying young here...LOL. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Congratulations!! Thanks for sharing your success.
Yaaaahoooooo!!!!! BBB&E for the win!!!! I LOVE it and my lab results/diagnostics are FABULOUS! Nobody believes me when I tell them I’m 52 😊
I’m so glad you discovered the proper human diet!
Love it 🙏🙏🙏 watched 100 hours of Dr. Berry, keep up with your program 👌
I think I have also but it was worth it and so is Dr. Cywes Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
My husband and I are considering doing this now that we are empty nesters. Love that you are feeling better!
Great job on the weight loss Rusty!
Thanks! Update coming soon I hope. Taking a while to get it together. Subscribe Button for new videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
I am so proud of you to do your own research on carnivore...I love it and feel amazing...keep going ...the best is yet to come ❤❤❤❤❤
