    The cool thing I liked about the "generic" indoor rooms is that they have the same building footprint, and so can fit directly over the top of, the thicker outdoor boards. Great if part of the action is split between the two.
    great vid as always

    Madness! Speaking of which, that other Waterdeep adventure would be a great one to build this way. I like the booklet organization better. I am tempted to tear my Symbaroum books apart to reorganize into booklets. Hardback books are nice for reading and a big sell point in recent years. But it is just easier to have, rules, story, location, etc, all in different books that you can grab as needed.

      Very true. I tend to run most everything using DnDBeyond now, which isn't perfect, but I can have most of what I need opened on different tabs and ready to go. Eager for them to implement their encounter builder as well. I do wish they'd allow me to add my own notes so I didn't have to use OneNote on the side. And I agree, the hardback is great to have, but it is difficult to run an adventure from. "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra."

    i know it has nothing to do with the video, but i wonder if you bought the map of faerun in the background or did you print it out yourself?

    • @TheGallantGoblin

      Both actually. That's a Mike Schley map, commissioned by Wizards for Storm King's Thunder. I purchased it from his website, got it printed, and laminated. Planning to get it properly framed soon, along with the nice Platinum edition map of Waterdeep you see in this video. Here's the link to purchase the map - prints.mikeschley.com/p858006957

    The idea of reorganizing the adventure im booklets is great! Such a simple tweak that makes averything easier!
    What are expecting from Ghosts of Saltmarsh, Teo?

      I'm happy to see that they're doubling down on original content with lots of new encounters. I'm excited to see the new documents. The big question for me right now is whether or not we'll get another beautiful, framable map. I get the sense that maybe there will be less hardware, which is honestly fine with me.
      I'm not sure how helpful the reorganized adventure will be in this module. I assume they'll just break the various adventures out, which is great, but not quite as transformative as the Dragon Heist reorganization was.
      We don't have a full look at what they're offering in this set, but it certainly seems like they've streamlined the box in a way that retains my favorite parts of the set (documents, art, new encounters, maps) while cutting the parts that I wasn't so excited about (non-exclusive minis and potentially hardware). And it's hard to argue with the new price point which should make it more accessible. And I haven't seen any indication that this is going to be a limited production run. So, long story short, I've already pre-ordered their Saltmarsh set. We'll endeavor to get that video posted as quickly as we can after receiving the set.

      @@TheGallantGoblin Well, indeed the reorganization won't be as useful but for those who just want to run one adventure can be great! We liked the same stuff hahahahaha

      Yah and it was at like the beginning, they saw a guy drinking fancy wine so they shanked him cause he must got money right? Welp they got caught and they were like what but what did we do wrong, the guard then said “well... *rolls out laws*” and they were like oh shiz and they made new characters while the rest of us played some super smash bros

      The Gallant Goblin so far they did but they seem like a serial killer ready to break down, they see so many rich people they want to slaughter and there mind says yes but even though it’s not really roleplaying they know the consequences of the law

      We are working our way through the mini sets. We are currently planning coverage of all Icons of the Realms, Pathfinder Battles, and Beadle & Grimm's products that are in print. We are also considering Wardlings, Starfinder, and Nolzur's unpainted minis, alongside one-off coverage of Kickstarters and custom content that strikes our interest.

      @@TheGallantGoblin I've come to the conclusion that gaming companies usually design their business model like a game and not around making money. Only 1000 sets of platinum editions made, that's only like half a million dollars in sales, D&D is way too big to be held back by contracting these things to such a small time outfit that is only interested in making a few million when there is 10-100 times more to be made.

  • @quonomonna8126
    @quonomonna8126 3 роки тому +1

    I will never be able to have this. Only 1000 were ever made. Nearly 10 times that people have watched this video, and 9/10ths of them probably don't know they can't have it. Ever.

    • @TheGallantGoblin
      @TheGallantGoblin  3 роки тому +1

      True. There are parts of it that are still available, and at least you'll have a better sense of what's in these boxes so you can decide if you want to purchase future B&G platinum boxes. -Theo

      @@TheGallantGoblin Everyone that already bought one gets immediate notification of new releases and preorders them immediately. They have the exact same 1000 customers every time they release a new set. I stand no chance. They probably get preferential treatment in that they get the opportunity to place those preorders before anyone else even knows its coming. I have spoken to the company about this, and they are very flippant about it. No sympathy. Their attitude completely reflects the fact that they know they have their 1,000 customers and don't need anyone else so they can treat anyone coming to them like crap, as they did with me. I denounce this company entirely. You give the best reviews on miniatures on the whole internet, but when I tried to explain this to the hobby shop manager, he basically told me I was a loser for having the time to watch them all from beginning to end. The owner then told me his manager knows his stuff. He doesn't know these products! I especially appreciate all the lore that you add to the reviews, and the high quality closeup shots.
