I made this curry long time ago using this video, and I'm coming back here to say thanks for guiding me.
Protip: stir that pot (w/curry paste in it) as long as you can! Trust me!

Ayame is two years old. She does not mind a bit of spicy food that she ate the whole plate of curry. There are Japanese curry paste specifically for kids, which are very sweet and not spicy.

I'm going to cook this tonight. Sadly we don't have the brick style curry paste. We just have this red curry paste in a little baby food jar in my local grocery store in the states. I use a can of coconut milk and half a jar as it is pretty spicy. I typically use chicken, 1 tsp of crushed ginger, 1 tsp garlic, 2 onion, 2 potato, 1 package of baby carrots. Usually turns out pretty good. Tonight I am trying the beef version. Thanks for the video. I was wanting to see the japanese style.

I put the onions first, then the potatoes; some minutes later I added the carrots and then the water and tomatoes as you did. I used S&B GOLDEN CURRY-MEDIUM HOT sauce mix blocks and I did half the recipe and I fed 4 people and I still have some left!!
    thanx

The video looks good. I'm going to try the receipe. I've not thought of adding tomatoes. It'll helps to thicken the gravy. Just a thought... if it would be better by adding the onions first, then the potatoes and carrots. Last; beef and tomatoes.

looks very good...If you make curry paste at your home...it taste better...also fry the onions with mustard seeds in oil and then add other ingredients.
If you also roast curry masala..and add it..it would taste more good

It all depends on how you like your curry...if you like it saucy like she does, then add two boxes. I've done this recipe and worked fine with one box.

She is so cute with that bib. Did she spit out at the end? My son, 3 yr. old, hasn't tried curry yet. Koreans usually don't add tomato in curry, but we add zucchini, peas or even corn. I will try tomato, though. Thank you for posting.

The key to a more delicious curry is to first fry the onions for at least 30 minutes. Less than medium heat, 1 hour is fine. The results are completely different. It is best to leave the curry overnight instead of eating it fresh. The meat is chicken thighs, and he doesn't forget the garlic.
