Tortoise care seems a bit difficult to accommodate for a beginner like myself. You sound like you've read up all about their care - which is what everyone should do if they happen to own one.. You take great care of your tortoises and your other pets! Interesting video, thanks Lori!!

My biology teacher has a tortoise. He lives in a tiny terrarium. When I had a bearded dragon, I would NEVER put him in such a tiny habitat. One Monday, we came in and the tortoise was roaming on the ground. Our teacher said that hed let him out on the Friday before and had forgotten to put him back. Since he was our BIOLOGY TEACHER, I didn’t question it vocally, but I did notice that Fluffy was looking pretty dark, and I remembered that my bearded dragon would get dark when he was cold. I feel so bad for that tortoise...
I instantly realized how poor i am when you said 100 dollars was pretty cheap.....
Well it's not Cheap but for reptile and Amphibians as pets pet enclosure and supplies can easily get to 200$

tortoise heat BULB- 25 dollars, then uvb for like....20 dollars. UVB+UVA= 50-60 dollars. Then stands. Then set up. And eyah best if they can have some time in garden too. So it is a bit yikes XD
It’s not cheap but quite cheap in comparison to other pets that what she meant :)
I Have a 17 year old pondslider & a 27 year old Map Turtle. Had them both since hatchlings. Also both rescues. I came across a reptile rescue site recently by chance recently and decided to rescue a tortoise or 2. Thank you so much for posting. Helped a lot.
I have 2 tortoises my self. The same breed as blue. They mean the most to me and I love them so much so I love to watch these type of videos to give them everything they need!
Out of interest, how did you manage to get the two tortoises to not fight and get along?
@@hermionecherry1007 Certain tortoises dont fight with others. Or this person might have separated them
@@hermionecherry1007 tortoise can live together if not both male and of the same species, they can get abit weird over food tho but thats it

Hi! I recently got hermit crabs and I watched your videos and they were so helpful and they are now thriving in their tank rather then in the stores. I would love to see more videos about them to have more info or just a recent update about them 💖
It’s interesting seeing the difference in care requirements between Lori who keeps her tortoises inside vs Kennan who keeps his outside. I want to keep mine outside as much as I can but I live in Minnesota so I have to bring them in for a few months.
Kay B he has a lot more and larger torts baby blue is so little I’d be afraid to keep him outside year round :)

I love the videos you do with your tortoise! ♥️♥️♥️ And BTW I was at Walmart and my walmart practically abuses the fish (the betta fish are worse) And there was a dead sorta deceased betta fish with mouth rot, I got so upset when I saw it, so I put it in the front of the section and wrote a note and left. So sad how walmart doesnt even care about their fish!!! 😢😢😢
I work at Walmart and I know this is not true. Here at Walmart we care for our pets! Stop decieving our customers!

The best part about the zoo med tortoise houses is that you can connect two of them together to make a 6 ft enclosure
I lived near a petshop that was abusing their tortoises and had them all piled in a tiny tank and my friends mum had lots of animals... and lets just say we obtained pockets full of tortoises for her mum...

I have 2 greek tortoises. They’re nearly 4 years old. I feel like I’m not taking enough care of them. There’s no videoes in my language, so I’ll have to get by with English
My local Petco has a Russian Tortoise and it's been sooo tempting....
Dont buy reptiles or any animals in particular from pet stores. It would be best to look for an animal from a trusted breeder

WOW I’m so glad I finally found this channel!
So I have a Russian Tortoise and just for like a week he’s going to be be in a glass enclosure and everything else is good but I’m gonna build a nice huge wooden enclosure and the substrate I use is coco husk and he loves lettuce and I take him outside all the time so he can eat leaves, grass and he loves clovers and yes my grass isn’t fertilized and he has a heat lamp so he’s doing pretty great I’m also getting a few other things like a new water dish that a UA-camr recommended so he can bathe and drink and I’m also getting him a couple other things are there any tips you recommend

thank you for the info! we also have a tortoise. our friend lent it to us and kids couldn’t let it go so, yeah, it’s still with us. we just feed it with green leaves. very easy and cheap! we have vlogged about it in my channel.
I had a tortoise house about triple the size of the hatchling cage, ( just like blues) it was made for my tortoise called travis, he loved it, he hated me like but he loved to run outside in the grass, obviously when I was there watching, he was so slow tho. He loved his hide house, he would love it, he had a hive , he liked to clime in his water bowl, he was tiny tho, but he could get out easily, wasn’t that much water, I love how my parents did a lot of research before getting him 🥰 we had to sell him tho because we moved to a different country, :( I hope he is living the best life right now ;c
We are getting a tortoise soon and we calculated the cost of the supplies, it was 133$ and the tortoise we are getting usually starts at like 100$ so yeah

When you said they have to bathe every day, does that mean you have to refill the water everyday or you can just leave it?
Titan Killer Change water everyday. But you should also take them out and do a separate soak. Which is just putting them in very shallow luke warm water and making sure their shell gets wet and allow them to drink it.

I have a Russian tortoise and I want to make a flower bed / enclosure outside for him. I live in Florida, and I was wondering, is the high humidity here or cold winters too much for them? Coldest it was this winter was about mid 40s, rarely in the high 30s (ferinheight) and it gets pretty hot, around 98 - 100 with 100% humidity almost all year. Is that just too much? Should I stick to just limited time for him outside? I really want him out getting natural sun light and fresh air as well as more stomping land to explore.

Greek tortoises have similar care to a Sulcata, still get a nice size (8-11 inches max) but not quite at big as a sulcata. Or a Hermann's, lol, I love mine.

I found a tortoise on the middle of the road and there were a bunch of dogs eyeing it down so I took it..I don’t know what to do and how to take care of it, I’m not sure if the species but I made a little pen with soil and water with a cave and stuff like that but I’m very scared that it’s too cold for it

If you still have your hermit crabs please do another video on them, I have watched all you videos so far but if you have changed anything or learned new things can you please do another video.. I recently got hermit crabs 😩 I didn’t know that they were wild caught so I got them for my young daughter (not knowing that they weren’t supposed to be held much). But I didn’t want to take them back because I feel I can take care of them better than petsco can. They didn’t tell me anything when I bought them. Although I know I should have done more research before I got them!!
