Excellent tour. This Recon conversion is absolutely the best "small" B van out there at any price. I know, not many other choices out there in the U.S. But the design and quality of construction is just top notch. Just the perfect features without being overly complicated but much much more than a DIY looking van conversion. And they manage to do it all at a reasonable price is the icing on the cake. Very well thought out and executed.
Very good interview mixflip and responses from Steven regarding the Recon Camper! I like it when things are explained and questions are answered. Great job on the interview!!
There’s another video about this model van released just recently (look for it on “The Fast Lane Truck” channel) … they took it off-road with some Nissan factory rigs; there weren’t any heavy rock-crawling or mud runs but the off-road trails they did take it on were doable as long as you pick your spots intelligently. You wouldn’t take it on the Rubicon Trail or anything like that, but it should handle most rocky dirt roads in a national forest.
A nice option would be a way of having the rear doors swing open and then enclose the rear, have a slide out attachment to enclose area, add floor , and cassette toilet . Would make unit perfect. Also need a small microwave, entertainment area
This is really well done and I'm going to check their website here in May of 18 to see what they have been up to. I converted a Dodge van back in the early 80's and used it for 5 years . It was a palace on wheels but no real conversion just a really comfy platform bed with pull out storage like a big drawer underneath, bed beautiful wood and fabric everywhere and a killer stereo, you know the important things..... " If the van is rockin' don't come knockin"". I hate that I can do this kind of stuff because it keeps me from buying one. As below I'm also not a Nissan fan now, although I can really show my age and say I owned several Datsun pick ups. One of those had an inverter for electric and I built a camper for it. Boy was that thing heavy and ugly (the camper part that is) but very functional and I loved it. Drove it all over N CA, ---Rainbow Festival, Dead shows, Mendocino coast, desert hot springs, those were the days. Ready to go again.
Its a great start for US market. I personally want a camper van with a toilet. In the age of covid, not many places are out there available for us to use so toilet is a must have. I think NV3500 or Ford Transit would have been a better choice.
thanks for the recommendations. Front swivel seats are not possible with front side seat airbags here in the US. We do have screens for rear and side windows now also.
This looks so cool! I wonder if they ever do a high top model. I also wonder if future models will be able to use a microwave. The thing I love about this is "plumbing" is inside! That is so cool :) Definitely gonna look into this! Awesome review!
NICE... I'm not into the biking equip. but would love to have storage rack on back and a hitch for small extention cage/ storage and to know if it can come with a tow hitch? I know 4x4 would cost more but would be great option as well... I'm extremely interested in this one.
Hey, are you going to get the electric version of this van. I would be very interested in the same drivetrain as the upcoming longer-range Nissan Leaf. I know that you can get one of these vans at present in Europe with the leaf powertrain.
That Jeep Camper @ 0:06 minutes, is so dam cool. You should've asked the owner how much did it cost to build his setup. I like set up of the NV200 but not the exterior looks of the van. It definitely has better aesthetics than a Dodge Promaster van.
Can you add solar and a small generator? Small cassette toilet would be nice. Are there ac outlets for rear? Can you run ac and heat to noon dock of for overnight use?
Sweet little van! Someone please give that company a Pacifica plug-in Hybrid to do a similar conversion to. 17 kWh of onboard energy would let you camp for multiple days on battery power or use the heating and air conditioning without needing a hookup or an external generator.
This is amazing. I would love to see what these guys could do with a Chrysler Pacifica or a Toyota Sienna. A bit bigger but very economical with the hybrid in the Toyota.
This was a great video! I really like this van. I have a nissan compact vehicle and it has never given me any problems so I can see getting one of these. Lol I just need to get a TV mounted in there and I will be set.
Great unit. Great price. I would have liked the price of the solar option. If I could skip the raised roof and get a built-in solar panel (2 x 120) for about $2000 - $3000 more, I would pay cash and drive it off the lot.
I have a 300 watt 110 volt rice cooker that works great off the 600 watt inverter if you want. I use a double boiler one with stainless liner that works amazing.
Wow... These guys have earned my respect. Very compact but functional setup.
I've got three kids! If I could sit 5 this would absolutely be my first choice for a camper van. I love the simplicity, and size.

Thank you. We spend a lot of time and effort to get here.
one of the best review camper van ever, cheers from bali, indonesia
Very good interview mixflip and responses from Steven regarding the Recon Camper! I like it when things are explained and questions are answered. Great job on the interview!!
Thanks for watching
I work in the road. At 35k I can actually commute at 20mpg and not pay for a hotel. I love this thing. I think it's going to evolve quickly too.
Jesus this is awesome. I’m looking for class B right now, but this little guy is amazing. I’m very impressed.
That thing is amazing. And great video.
This was a great break down! You asked all the right questions.
I would consider one of these as a solo traveler. Very convenient, Good video.
I’m totally getting one! Can’t wait for my adventures!
Nice van and the price is very reasonable. Wish there is a 4x4 option.
ERIC LIN you can take it to a company that does 4x4 conversions.

Mortimer J. Mouse yup...TFLcar made the video. That was an overland expo model with method wheels and geolander tires.
mixflip And I imagine they’d install that setup for a customer who ordered it. 👍
Mortimer J. Mouse there are companies out there who specialize in 4x4 conversions.
I love the way how this guy explains everything good. Good job :)
Thanks for watching
great idea! we have a lot small campers like this here in japan!!!
Pablo Noda I saw a few videos showing tiny RVs like this in Japan. It makes total sense.
That is pretty cool, I have always wanted something like this.. very nice.
Very nice van, it's about time someone built one again
Impresive, great price pt. w/ all the features.
Thumbs-up. New sub. Financing through Nissan makes this actually practical.
Such a well thought-out small b. Simply superb. You got my thumb waaaaay up.
Wow, plenty of innovation there. Nice vehicle and price.
A nice option would be a way of having the rear doors swing open and then enclose the rear, have a slide out attachment to enclose area, add floor , and cassette toilet . Would make unit perfect. Also need a small microwave, entertainment area
Nice job with the interview. I just got an email saying they will have a camper at the Chicago Auto Show. I guess I'll have to check it out.

Nice to see affordable options for regular guys. As always, great vid bro!
Great price. To bad its so small but it's got everything to get up and go. Good salesman.
wring

Wow you asked all the right questions.
Amazing product at a reasonable prize.
Very impressive, one of the best I've seen.
Awesome review! Tks. 🚐 Ready to be Liv'ing the Van Life myself. 💖
Awesome camper van! I want one!
Oh, I want one of these!
Love this van, amazing !!! 😉
That was an Awesome vehicle
I love it!
Excellent conversion
Wow this would be ideal on a hybrid vehicle. That would give all the electricity you would need for a week of boondocking.
Wow! That's a neat package in a small vehicle like this NV200! Great video too! U definitely are worth more subs!
Would really love if they could make one based on the e-NV200 Electric 40 kWh as well. :-)
nev 200 hss 40 kw batery capty 150 mioes
Two things I would add: pocket screens on the doors and 180 swivel front seats
thanks for the recommendations. Front swivel seats are not possible with front side seat airbags here in the US. We do have screens for rear and side windows now also.
Driven one . Love them. Get around 32 mpg .
Only empty stock nv200 could achieve that. This camper is way more heavy.
This looks so cool! I wonder if they ever do a high top model. I also wonder if future models will be able to use a microwave. The thing I love about this is "plumbing" is inside! That is so cool :) Definitely gonna look into this! Awesome review!
DoctorWhoGeek thanks for watching
This is why companies need to use Engineers as sales personnel. this guy is knowledgeable and believable...
Thank you. Steve did this with no practice in one take. Impressed even us how well he did!!
NICE... I'm not into the biking equip.
but would love to have storage rack on back and a hitch for small extention cage/ storage and to know if it can come with a tow hitch?
I know 4x4 would cost more but would be great option as well...
I'm extremely interested in this one.
This is awesome!
It was good to see this. I wonder if ReconCamper folks can build a similar rig on my very own Dodge Sprinter Cargo Van ?
kundur reddy I'm sure money can make all things possible lol.
Sorry we are focused on small, efficient and affordable. Tons of Class B size van converters out there for your Sprinter.
That is super cool!!! Nice Find 🤙🏽
Nissan is going to kill it with this!!!! No competition here in the USA.
solar panel on top roof and that roll up shade should be solar too
Impressive rig.
Mixflip, your channel rocks!!
Sasmodog thanks for watching
Neat little van.
This is seriously our dream
When i retire i want to get one of these and just drive across the country.
Null why not when you are young and energetic
Rent out your property
Hey, are you going to get the electric version of this van. I would be very interested in the same drivetrain as the upcoming longer-range Nissan Leaf. I know that you can get one of these vans at present in Europe with the leaf powertrain.
Perfect for one granny to visit kids & gran kids, Finally one that’s affordable there usually outrageous.....
Wow, thats awesome and priced inline other vehicles
thomas dipaolo it's pretty impressive for sure.

Okie Rider I'll ask when I see them next weekend.
Sprinters and other Van conversions have more room and higher end materials. I think my best option would be to buy something nice but older.
Love it!
Can you add solar and a small generator? Small cassette toilet would be nice. Are there ac outlets for rear? Can you run ac and heat to noon dock of for overnight use?
It's about time a affordable RV thank you Nissan
Friggen awesome!

Good job
Cool indeed.🚐👍

buy hybred mini van
Nice campervan
Very nice! Price?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family brother
Can you do this on a 4runner? This little vans engine is going to take a beating
hynride 4 runern next year
I love everything except for the outdoor shower 😂
This was a great video! I really like this van. I have a nissan compact vehicle and it has never given me any problems so I can see getting one of these. Lol I just need to get a TV mounted in there and I will be set.
Thanks for watching.
We have various mounts for computers and tablets to get your TV fix from.
Nice Job! I Like it!! The Nissan NV comes electric in Europe and will soon in the US. Would be a great electric rv!!
Very cool.
Can we make it solar and add a little more kitchen or storage for visitor travelers?
Epic Vehicle.
Good, sell at Nissan dealer! Wha' about baffroom?
So awesome!
I wish it had a swivel front seat
wow. retiring soon and this may be it.
biy it
Very nice set up. Appx price please
Mary F Richardson I think he said the price in the video? $50k direct from Nissan.
Post more Recon videos. We need an Demo model in Ohio! Include a t.v./DVD player.
tv dvd conbo buikt in reduce waßt
Should make a larger version on nv300
I wonder.. Do you know how wide the bed is? It looks quite small for two people to comfortable sleep on it..
I wish Toyota had something like this with 4x4 features.
I know right. The Toyota Sienna AWD would be amazing with this setup.
mixflip was thinking HiAce 4x4 with a lift, good suspension and some aggressive tires!
Is this campervan available in Canada ?
great looking van but I hate it when people say "hot water heater". It's just water heater. Thank you. Headed to the web site now.
Can it be ordered without the lower flip around seat? I could not operate that with my disabilities.
I think the interview smoked some Maui wowie..lol
Great unit. Great price. I would have liked the price of the solar option. If I could skip the raised roof and get a built-in solar panel (2 x 120) for about $2000 - $3000 more, I would pay cash and drive it off the lot.
nicely done
Can you buy this without the hot water?
Nice little camper but have you ever seen a 12v rice cooker? Or do I have to do it the old fashioned way
I have a 300 watt 110 volt rice cooker that works great off the 600 watt inverter if you want. I use a double boiler one with stainless liner that works amazing.
I use Takerukun from Japan. Expensive, since it's imported, but worth every penny. It's very well insulated, and as fast as normal cooker.
How do you get air conditioning? Use the van's a/c when parked?
awesome..
I want it!
Where can I buy one in Portland OR?
very good price. NEW VW campers in Europe are 50 euros.Much better price with re-con campers.
Needs a few things to be perfect. A small ac unit, entertainment system, and a toilet like those used in a small boat. Pretty nice for the price
yes car ac heat can orive that no upfesßr
