Hello. This was the case when I first made bread. The bread gets better over time. But my advice is this: -- Use bread flour. The protein value should be at least 11%. -- Use the amount of flour as per the recipe. If you use too much flour while kneading the dough, the bread will lose its moisture and the bread will be heavy. -- Make sure to rest the dough. The dough likes to rest. Otherwise, it will not rise. -- Make sure to use steam when baking the bread. If your oven does not have a steam function, place a bowl of boiling water in the oven. When the bread starts to brown, remove the bowl from the oven. That's all I can say for now. I hope it helped. Merry Christmas
