Did you have to plug it in at 40? The one I used to drive needed it lol. Then block heater quit and start sequence changed to "wait for 30sec after preheat light went out, open hood till it hits moose bumper, spray ether under hood into intake, start truck."
Nope! It cranked right over. You have to be careful when using ether on these as the newer ones have grid heaters! That will give you a nice little backfire if your not careful! Thanks for watching!
@@crazyjdkid you have to be more careful with ones that cycle heaters. Cummins and gm diesels with intake heaters cycle on and off which will touch off ether if it's in the system. Older International engines and older power strokes are a little safer as it won't reheat if you leave key on. Still not recommended but when shit's gotta get done you sometimes have to get creative.
@@crazyjdkid just a warning, that one I drove had a lot of problems. It had multiple injector issues, head gasket, electrical gremlins, months of downtime at dealer. I think cold no start was grid heater not working. Mechanic at company shop claimed it was working. he was a skilled, knowledgeable guy that has fixed machines that no one has even heard of, but electrical might as well been Chinese to him. He couldn't wire a headlight.

The MaxxForce DT was not known for its reliability! The Cummins that has since replaced it is a much better powerplant!
Love these
Very nice
Thanks!
Don't these new Internationals like this only come with Cummins ISB Now? I know that's how it is for IC CEs.
Yes. I believe you can get the MF9 in the durastar as well.
Okay thank you! Because I haven't seen at DT's in new IC CE's, I do believe the IC CE Is available as a hybrid as well, but I'm not sure.
How long do you have this rig for?
Not long, I am just phasing the videos in.
you call 40 a cold start? wow...
I know 40 isn't cold. But it was the coldest it was going to get while I had the truck.
it sounds like a Peterbilt
