Great videos! My wife and I really enjoy watching how your tree to finished syrup operating Flows. We put our syrup in bulk storage containers and bottle or process as needed. Love the "Shanty" Our season here in Central Wisconsin has been so so slow. Stay safe!
Lot of things to watch and do to keep the wheels on the wagon. Massive gallons per man hour, but requires full attention. No room for big mistakes. So much different than my little hobby production. Thanks for another great video Nikki.
I collected 5 gallons of sap and boiled it down over a fire, took all day and only had enough syrup for two servings of pancakes! I have so much respect for your operation! Thanks for sharing
Great video, and you all are doing awsome! Very informative, and what a difference in the last 20 years of technology. I learned a lot as a Vermont viewer. Thank you
That building is OUTSTANDING! It makes the CDL look small. When are you switching over to steam boiling and what do you use for fuel for that system? Also would love to see the R.O. Room in operation
Love the videos used to live in northern ny and was the "boiler" for our syrup operation boiled lots of syrup with our leader 5x14 wood fired evaporator..... I sure miss it.... Keep the videos coming...
I milled black birch logs for a client a few years ago. The air was filled with a scent just like birch berry soda. Wonder if anyone has ever tried making syrup from black birch sap?
Awesome video. The last part reminds me when we cleaned up the cider mill and everything connected to it. It looks as if y'all have a bunch of cleaning up to do every night!
You might want to mention that the reason you monitor the temperature as a proxy for sugar content is that as the syrup gets more concentrated, the boiling temperature goes correspondingly higher. It might be illustrative to stick a thermometer in the other stages in the evapourator pan to show the temp higher in each successive stage. Thanks for the videos, very interesting to see how high-tech the business has become.
Would love to see a diagram of the boiler and the path the sap goes from back to forward as it concentrates to syrup. Obviously can see it when not boiling from side. Thank you
I watched my uncle make maple syrup back in the late 1940’s, he’d run the hot syrup through a heavy cloth bag then it would be canned. Not quite the same process today where purity is the highest priority. Thanks for a interesting and informative video.
The entire operation from sap collection, to boiling/filtering to final product is amazing. Great video. You looking forward to turkey season? Dumb question, I know you are. Lol!! 😁
Love the videos, keep em coming! You might have already explained it but how does the weather and temperature effect the sap? Also I received my order from you guys and It is amazing, this was my first taste of 100% real maple syrup and I will never go back! All I can say is Aunt Jemima is gonna have to step up her game and lose about a hundred ingredients to even be in the same conversation as you guys. If anyone has the means I highly recommend picking some up, it is so choice 👌
Short maple season for sure, there was no graduation in cooler temperatures to warm, everything is feeling that….. disease and pest pressure will be high this year….
Awesome process! Would love to know where the steam is going? It seems like in the new building there is no pipe going out of the building. Amazing video as always :)
Curious how production is this year also is the season about over? This is something I I’ve come to look forward to watching you all January February March and hopefully April
You work long hours for sure with no coffee either. Reminds me of the Army.. Great video! Impressive timber frame building! An electric pressure washer might work well for cleanup. I made the maple wine.. it should be ready to bottle by turkey season. Hang tough
I visit a couple nearby that are maple syrup producers and when customers stop into the sugar shanty and see them add the white powder to the syrup, they jokingly tell them that it is Cocaine. Love the maple syrup videos 👍
I'd like to see in detail of how the filters work and what was being pushed out of the framework. I'm visually impaired so it takes me time to see things. I watch things 3 times or usually more to figure out what is going on.
You have a great channel. I’ve been trying to find the quick connect fittings you’ve discussed in previous videos. Could you possibly provide a link to them?
I love your videos!!! I’m familiar with automation equipment, I recognize that actuator used on your valve, where your hydrometer is. I’m going to buy some yummy Maple Farmer Syrup. Thank you for sharing!!!
Great information! Thanks for teaching me a little. Surprised Im not to far from you on the Canuck side across the Rainbow Bridge. Question..so the sap loaded into the large tanks outside goes directly into the evaporator? Where it is then boiled to 222 degrees. I bet it smells wonderful in the sugar shack?? 👍👍👍. Everyone remember thumbs up. 👍👍👍
Does the used diatomaceous earth get recycled/cleaned for reuse? Boiler runs on liquid petroleum? Thanks for the videos, feels like we're a little part of your enterprise. You're always smiling and bright.
I am speculating that due to cost increases such as the fuel oil used to run the evaporator and fuel in the truck to haul the sap and pretty much everything else around costing more, the price of maple syrup is on its way up as well ?
Hi Nikki, what do you use for fuel and how can you run out of it? Can the diatomaceous earth be cleaned and reused or is it thrown out? Why do you have to work so late into the night, is it because once you start there is no stoping? It's been enjoyable for me to learn a little about the Maple Syrup business and your way of life. You certainly have to be the best looking Maple Syrup cooker in the business. Thanks....
Is the maple syrup season doing better then you expected a few weeks ago? Also it be nice if you could mention the date of the actual date of the filming of the video i know with editing and life many videos come out weeks later

I’m to lazy to put on make up. Lol! Niki you are one of the hardest working ladies I know. I really enjoy the maple sugaring videos! Make sure you guys get your rest. God bless!
Tried to be more informative this video! If you have any questions ask away! We now also have the glass quarts back in stock! 😄
That was very informative and impressive set up!
I just ordered 2 gallons. I’ve never had pure maple syrup, hope I like it.
Would like to see the bottling process

Starting to feel guilty about my bed time😂 you all are amazing
Another great video Nikki!!.. Thanks for taking us along during your nightshift. Have a great week..
Thanks for tuning in Terry!
What a sweet operation, very cool. Nice day today. I got my jug of Boxler syrup couple weeks ago, can't wait to crack into that this weekend.
Hey Craig! Thank you so much for choosing to support our family business and for tuning in!
Good morning it's been a long time since I've seen you in a video doing what you do best I'll keep looking thanks for the content
I have always enjoyed your videos and learning. Somethings new. About what y'all doing and how much work y'all are putting into it.
That’s a really impressive set up 👍

The best explanation of the equipment yet

Yes, I’ve been hearing some people say they are expecting it to double in price 😳
You think fuel costs a lot. You should see chimneys, through the roof!
WOW Yummy !
The syrup probably too ;-)
Where are you located? Your store says products can be picked up locally.
Nice looking syrup I can just imagine what the shanny smells like I think I will have pancakes and syrup for supper tonight

I use DE and it's not white like that, must be the different brands. I LOVE MAPLE SYRUP the good stuff is so expensive in Kentucky
It’s expensive because it’s expensive to produce! And lots of manual labor.
Is the maple syrup season doing better then you expected a few weeks ago? Also it be nice if you could mention the date of the actual date of the filming of the video i know with editing and life many videos come out weeks later
My videos are only about a week behind so anywhere from 3-7 days after filming!
if your syrup tests too heavy to sugar coming off the evaporator what do you do?
I'll make a video today explaining this!
Got my order in last week the pancakes are delicious with your syrup on them 😋 ✌️
Where did you get the fitting you use on your drums when filling?
I'll have to ask my dad!
what a great spokesperson for your product, intelligent, knowledgeable, and cuter than hell!!
Can you show what fires the evaporator, and where is the chimney?
How is the season turning out so far for you guys we are having a normal year so far not like last years disaster
Can you use the diatomaceous earth again?
How many taps is your operation?
32,000

Nice operation, too bad it's in NY. Signed Vermonster :)
😂 we will be visiting Vermont soon!
How many hours does the typical run time last each day when the sugar shanty is active?
We know you folks wrap up for the day about the time most of us are 3/4 through a good nights sleep.
Typically Anywhere from 6-14 hours depending how the sap is flowing!
Why did the syrup didn't have any taste the syrup didn't have any sugar
REAL Maple Syrup is sugar & the darker the grade the more maple flavor! Unless you buy the fake stuff then it’s corn syrup
When the one neighbor firing with wood runs out of wood it's either a mad dash to cut some dead standing evergreens or call it a season.
Nice video.
I'll also ask. What type of "fuel" do you use?
Diesel fuel
Hi what cloud is suryp this year?? Our is really light
Why did the bumblebees couldn't come out side because it's to cold
I like the MemProTec RO. What size is it?
Thank you Nikki. I never get tiered watching you. Very interesting video. Hot long hours for you, and brother.

They have a storage room where it's stored until sold
@@daveklein2826 Frozen
