Glad to see Warren is more willing to be a video presence than previous seasons lol. I always enjoy working in the maple woods with my brother’s & cousins.
I would donate anytime I could to help him out n the woods. I miss being in the woods do sap line work. True passion of mine. Miss doing it myself. Congratulations on the soon to be new maple farmer.
There is a significant cash payout for all that...those ball valves are not cheap. Never mind all the other stuff I see. Your brother does a good job explaining things.
I am very impressed by the amount of work that you all do; start up and set up, maintaince throughout the season, then your end of season work. And this just the beginning of the Sap Farm. WOW! Farming, no matter the type, is a lot of work. Very gratifying work.
I'm finding this absolutely fascinating! The length of piping is mind blowing, had no idea it would be left in permanently. Do falling branches or trees cause much damage?
yes we get damage from trees, snow and wildlife. It is why we walk all of our lines before the season begins, after storms, and continuously during maple season!
@@MapleFarmer that's definitely a commitment! We're in the NY capital district and we aren't getting freezing temps and nothing is running. Hope we get some soon and your weather is favorable!
OK, total tool geek question. The wire ties warren was using, are they double loop ties? I couldn't get a good look. Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
I would recommend using SS fittings, we have replaced all our plastic to SS just for durability. When they freeze they beak easier if a tree falls on them.
Is there a reason besides cost that you use plastic over SS? I've heard plastic has a higher chance to cause leaks. Along with them having a smaller diameter for flow.
This is awesome content, thank you. Some one needs a back pack full of batteries and fittings and hiking sticks full of hose clamps so he don’t run out..lol Sucking the Sap to get the sugar…mmmm
We would have to use a mainline tool to install those fittings, do u not have too because u just tighten the wire of the prelashed mainline and don’t actually have to tighten the mainline
Do you ever need to replace the mainlines over the years from bacteria build up? Or does annual cleaning allow the mainline to be up until there's damage and need to be replaced?
How come you are using plastic fittings in the woods? We switched to all stainless steel fittings years ago, because the plastic ones would break all the time in the cold or when a tree came down on the pipe. I know they are more expensive but I highly recommend them.
we use stainless in our high wind areas. We also replace all of our lines about every 10 years and walk our lines continuously throughout the season so we never seem to have much of an issue.
It’s because when we start boiling he is running on 2-3 hours of sleep daily for weeks at a time. We would finish boiling anytime between 2am-5am and then he goes to his job at Milton Cat at 6am. So the last thing he wants is to be on camera when he’s a walking zombie!
@@MapleFarmer it makes me want to come out there and help y'all out! But I'll be making syrup again this year in my small little back yard operation. I'm even upgrading to a small reverse osmosis system to cut my boiling time in half!
@@MapleFarmer That is super funny! By apprentice, I didn't mean you, meant would be nice if you could hire him a sidekick, you guys have a ton of work, especially with a new field, good luck!
That is a whole truck load of clamps for a truck load of pipe. I recall seeing a clamping system a while back that I want to offer up to you fir consideration. I'm not a salesperson, and have no vested interest in this system. I am very impressed by it, and it has great reviews. ClampTite Tool I fully understand that you have a proven system that works fantastically for you. It is only an offering for consideration
We really enjoy Boxler syrup, we serve it everyday. And... we think it's fun supporting such a great family!
Thank you so much! We appreciate you!
Pretty sweet setup! Warren needs a raise!
It's funny that I tell him the same thing about me 😂. I am hoping you will see him more in videos and he will be more of a mainstay on the channel!
@@MapleFarmer he's a natural.
Looking forward to another year in the maple woods again!
Let's hope it turns out to be a decent season
Grat job! That's a lot of work! Thank goodness, looks like you missed the bulk of the snow!!
We got snow but it all melted now. We are waiting for temperatures to drop again so we can hopefully tap soon
Like Warren said, it looks like a lot of hard work! But I bet it’s a true labor of love for you all! Thanks for sharing!
It really is as maple is a hobby in additional to everyones full time job here at Boxler Maple!
Glad to see Warren is more willing to be a video presence than previous seasons lol. I always enjoy working in the maple woods with my brother’s & cousins.
me too! I am hoping eventually he will start to take a camera with him so I don't have to be there to film!

He's very good at explaining and can fix and tell you the specs on everything in our operation off the top of his head!
Very cool instructional, Warren. Great job!
If you want to know anything technical about the operation, he's the guy to ask!

WOW!
Farming, no matter the type, is a lot of work. Very gratifying work.
Snow. Trees. Taps. This must be the most wonderful combination to get the grand Boxler maple syrup.
Excited about my order, thanks again!
Wonderful
As a small-time producer who just hangs bags, this is fascinating! I absolutely love the black line redundancy, a thing of beauty!
That's an interesting System! A lot of work too! I hope you have a great run this spring!👍
Thank you, we hope so too! We need it with the investment we have put into the building and new woods! 😬
Looks like you’re doing a great job 👏 😊
Gotta love supplyhouse and wow that is really interesting
Warren does a great job!
@@MapleFarmer most definitely, that's the type of stuff I love doing
Would like to see a video when you guys plumb in the dry line at the vacuum house.
As long as Warren lets me know when he's doing that I'll get video of it!
Good job! I switched to all stainless steel y's at my wet/dry entrances, they're a little harder to install but last a lifetime.
Very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice to see you again. Best wishes for a great season. May God Bless your baby. 💗🙏
Interesting to see how you set things up, it's different from what I've seen in my neighbors bush. Very informative, thanks for sharing 👍
Good to see you back. I hope your power company is dependable
Do you also grow new trees to help add to the forest?
Big investment in time and money - and the work looks great! How often do you guys walk the lines once you're all tapped and running?
Once tapped we walk the lines every single day!
@@MapleFarmer that's definitely a commitment! We're in the NY capital district and we aren't getting freezing temps and nothing is running. Hope we get some soon and your weather is favorable!
Why so late in doing this job, wouldn't warmer weather be better? Love this channel
Your comment makes no sense

Please explain the 2 vacuum lines (Wet & Dry). Thank You
He explains them in the video! Is there something more specific you would like to know that he didn’t cover?
Do you ever need to replace the mainlines over the years from bacteria build up? Or does annual cleaning allow the mainline to be up until there's damage and need to be replaced?
we replace all of our lines about every 10 years. However, cleaning them keeps them in pretty good shape!
Would the Adirondack back packs help carry supplies?
I’m not sure what an Adirondack backpack is.
They are handwoven pack baskets. Look them up. Trapper’s use them a lot.
How come you are using plastic fittings in the woods?

How many acres is this new 5000 tap woods?
You need another battery! Lol
I only have like 5 trees I tap is it going to be worth it with all the warm weather we have ?
In my opinion....f it's only 5 trees there's no excuse not to tap as it's not as much time commitment! We plan on tapping during the next big
freeze
@@MapleFarmer thank you
Breaking chops 500k maple shack you bring one battery with you lol.
Another 5000.00Taps😅😊

Poor Warren, his wrists are going to be so sore without an electric wrench for those clamps.
Too bad you couldn't equip Warren with a competent apprentice, guess good help is hard to find for one!
The funny part is he was the one that counted them so he was talking about himself 😂
