  • This is a demonstration of how to build your own heavy sandbag for heavy strength training at home.
The key is to find a bag that is durable enough to withstand at least 100 pounds of sand.
    Supplies:
    1. Canvas bag
    2. Heavy duty trash bags for liners
    3. SAND
    4. Nylon rope

Great video, love that you include the family in the video. Very realistic depiction of children.

How do you like the 150 lb Rogue sandbag compared to the homemade one you made? I have a 135 lb homemade bag similar to yours but was thinking about picking up the Rogue bag also.

I really like the Rogue. I have been pretty hard on it and it withstands everything well. I like to use the Rogue for ground-to-shoulder, bear hug carries, and squats. I like to use my homemade back for exercises where I will have the bag on my shoulder for long periods. It being longer just helps distribute the weight in a way that I can manage it a little better.

That's a good question. I'm not sure. I would be comfortable with up to 160ish lbs in this canvas bag.
