  • Today I'm sharing my minimalist workout routine and rather than overthink this video, I figured the best way to share this with you, would be in a straightforward, less poetic conversation.
    So first, I'm going to break down my training style and why I train the way I do. Secondly, I'll show you the equipment I own and use, and lastly, I'll walk you through what a typical week might look like for me.

    I'm personally someone who only runs and does bodyweight exercises. I find that my fitness has never been better!

    I started to invest on gym equipment around 2018, because I hated the drive back and forth. Struggled to keep a routine, but it’s wonderful to have the privacy of my house and the time that works for me.

    As someone who got rid of his weightlifting and cardio equipment for bodyweight calisthenics, it was challenging finding an appropriately difficult leg exercise that could be done with low reps without diving too deeply into plyometrics. It turns out that one of the hardest bodyweight leg exercises is called a "reverse lunge with knee up". If you add a hop or jump at the end to exhaust your fast-twitch muscles and make it a full range of motion, you should be able to get a leg-press-worthy workout in under 15 reps per side.

    I liked this one. Simple intuitive training is the way to go for most people.
    When I started to practice minimalism I simplified my training to bodyweight calisthenics, Yoga and Karate. I actually got stronger and more athletic than when I trained in the gym.
    I do not like to be sore and bodyweight seems to not do that. Unless you do high rep squats for some weird reason.
    I liked the informal style of this video.

    Fantastic video man! I'm just starting out my journey in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and so many of the machines and pieces of equipment which are common at commercial gyms really aren't required!! You can do so much with a few kettlebells, a pull-up bar a couple of dumbbells :)

    Well done on figuring out what’s the most optimal way to train your individual muscle groups, I’ve DEF gotta try using the elastic bands. Each body part requires special attention :P

    I really like the idea of intuitive training. Never heard of it, but t always makes sense to me to listen to what our body tells us. Thank you for this video. Also, very well structured! Cheers from Poland!

    It is very interesting to hear from an athlete, that a workout should be simple and intuitive. I used to run 4-5 times per week for years, but I didn't get the result I was going for and switched to weightlifting. I was so obsessed with training 4-5 times per week for 1,5h that I my body refused to get lean and I got fatter. At some point I injured my back from overtraining and I took a break from sports. I started with tuning again after the pouse, did a 10k 3 times per week. Now, I am not running, I do body weight training, 4 times a week, quite simple exercises and I feel stronger than ever! I got leaner too - moderation is the key for me💪👌

      I designed my routine based on "Body By Science" by Dr. Doug McGuff. If you found you were overtraining at 4-5x/week, you might be like me and need to cut your workouts to one set once every 7-10 days. I'm fitter as a 50-something that I was in my teens and 20's (a LCHF + IF lifestyle helps).

      @Poeticbladezero 2 роки тому +1

      @@status101-danielho6 what do you do for core workouts? Not so much for getting abs but from preventing lower back injury....

    • @status101-danielho6
      @status101-danielho6 2 роки тому +1

      @Poeticbladezero I do 1 set of 30 reps of arch ups for my lower back at a moderate pace, once a week. I used to do deadlifts or kettlebell swings, but occasionally I would injure my back. I‘ve never injured myself with simple body weight calisthenics, so I now prefer this way of training.
