The last few minutes of this interview spoke to me. Love hearing Ali Siddiq not only educate us younger brothers, but take the time to break it down.

Siddiq spoke truth. It’s dudes that lived with their fathers and still don’t know that man. I felt that. Me and my pops in the same home; then same city for 29yrs. Known of this man since birth and he still a mystery to me till this dad*. I meant to say day but I wish I could call him dad till this day instead of father.

Always relatable.. what he said about his pap's, and breaking the cycle.. is what we do in life, try to be and do better than our own experience,. and not forget to try to understand what people go through that leads to a bad situation.. and their experiences, and how they turn out to be, good or bad!
Smart conversation.. question things with intellect, try to understand a certain situation, you might need empathy, to also understand the emotional, but you need all o' that.. argumentation, put things in perspective.. and act/respond accordingly! A little bit of paraphrasing, but.. right, right?!

Nationality is MOST important. I’m Ghanian, Israelite. Now I can standing on equal footing with all men. So again our people here in the United States in particular, and the Americas in general: nationality is the MOST important thing.

This is a good convo but, it's super slow and unstructured- having some difficulty following everyone's story.

I think the ultimate problem is “brown/black” people feel as though there is one land that we come from. This in itself is a conflict in the psyche because we are original, meaning we come from every land. Our ancestors come from everywhere. All lands. That is the nature of a god. Of course we migrate/“travel” we are free spirited people. We go as we please unless we are told (which we were) that we were never there. Then the places become “foreign” to us. But if you truly believe you are aboriginal, you know everything comes from you and without you it wouldn’t exist. If they can limit where we were/can go…. Then they can place many limitations in your subconscious therefore you feel as though you have to connect to one land mass, when you don’t. It’s all you. You are your ancestors and our ancestors were all over.

Lots of wisdom here. But there two things I don't agree with.
First. Feeding a kid you don't like is not being a parent. "I fed you so I did my job." Is how you raise a dog. It ain't even how you raise a dog well.
I can't imagine how much that mess a kid up to never talk to his dad. He be better off having left. The care system can feed a kid. That is the lowest possible resolution view to look at it from.
Second. Just because you did something, doesn't mean anyone can do it. People are strong. People, in general, can withstand the worst things imaginable. But not every person can. Like most things there is a bit of a genetic lottery at play. Along with what you have learned and experienced.

Not all women sacrifice their children. I'm sorry that happened to you but I sacrificed my love life for my kids. But I've seen women who have sacrificed their children for stability yet they could have had the same stability on their own minus the abuse of their kids.

Everything's about a struggle and people have their different struggles that's why there's no crazy person in this world and I quote Stacy Pell said there's nobody crazy in this world it was just racing in the craziest environment.. have you seen the checkered flag

We as brothers in the US MUST reevaluate what is acceptable and not acceptable regarding our sisters.
    1. She can’t have a high body count.
    2. In the event of a break up. We should get PRIMARY custody of our children.
The woman must also be classic wife: cooks, cleans, washes, take care of children, and me, and sews. She’s obedient to her husband. If she’s not these things then we don’t marry until we find her.

It's early in the morning (1:12am) and lare in my life (71years old), it's a waste of time for us to still be talking about a whole lot of stuff, even what you all are talking about. Where do we go from here?!? What do we do as a GROUP to get the attention of the powers that be?!? We're still celebrating holy.days, spending a boat-load of money, and still not in solidarity! It's just like "us" being Democrats still voting as a group, but still not getting anything in return! What can we do to get on the same page?!? Otherwise, all ya'll talking about is the same old same old.
