Put 50 rounds of factory Foster slugs down the 590 Sunday, and ended the session with 3 rounds of lee slugs in shot cups... Which are MOPaperPlate at 50 yds... Have to say there wasn't much lead in the bbl... Thanks for putting me in that direction cookie.

Drew Diaz That is a real treat to shoot those factory Fosters. I have those, but can't bear to shoot that many at one session. So my shotgun shooting is the reverse of yours - 50 slug reloads and then 5 factory Fosters. This guy Dennis at our range loves to shoot the Fiocchi slugs that he buys 250 at a time for 75 cents a round (better than the $1+ for other brands) about 50 each session. That still adds up to a lot of ammo costs. Good shootin' to us all!!

I got a pound of h110. I hear it's real picky about less than magnum loads and that you need magnum primers. I got 100 magnum primers. Hopefully it shoot well with standard also. I think I'm going to use it with Hornady 240 gn xtps this year for deer in my 1894. I used that bullet in a sabot last year with my inline muzzle loader, awesome bullet.

bubbacrabb Congrats on your H110 - Actually, you are looking at H110 from a different point of view - H110 is not picky at all. It is a specialized powder and extremely good at what it does well...It must be loaded at 100% loading density for best results - you will notice that the starting loads and maximum loads are very close in the data manuals. And it must have magnum primers (forget the standard primers - waste of time), plus good solid crimps right in the middle of the crimp groove or cannelures on that fine XTP bullet of yourn. And loaded according to the manuals - it is safe in guns of good condition - shoot them with confidence but get a good grip!! ---Now the fun, bubbacrabb as you are in the H110 Club. - I wouldn't tell this to just anybody but you are a frequent poster. It is the Blastah Powder!! - FC45LC moniker. It is not a powder we load to take 100 rounds of it to the range for some recreational shooting (50 rounds yes). I like to put earplugs in and then my muffs over that when I touch off H110. If you want cannon bazooka shots at the range - and the hotrod 9mm and 40 boys and girls around you to give you some space, and gather a crowd...trot out the H110, jacketed bullets, and a 4" barrel revolver and let fly!! The partitions will shake. Any lead deposits in your gun are history. But most impressive young Yedi, is when you keep the shots in a 3 1/2 gray circle as the gun nearly tears itself out of your bare hands - harumpff!! Gungha!! Gungha!! Gungha Dinn - Ghenghis Khan!! Thunder and Lightning - Hide the kids!! Your 1894 will tame the beast for sure. Good shootin' to ya...

FortuneCookie45LC do you think it's best to leave them h110 loads for the marlin, the only other 44 I own is a 6 in 629. Hopefully I'll add a ruger to my stable in the future to tame the hottest loads. Just don't want to ruin my smith. I have 5 lbs of 2400 also to maybe develop a deer load with. Honestly, I've loaded a lot of 9mm, 38 special, and 45 acp but it's all been with unique mostly. I'm just beginning with slow burning powders in magnum loads.

bubbacrabb Have no fear - you will not ruin your Smith shooting H110 magnums unless you are shooting 100 - 200 rounds a week. A cylinder or two when you take it out to the range is probably enough to keep the magnum sense keen. That being said - I spent over a year shooting 100 44 Magnums a week out of my Ruger Super Blackhawk - and I would not do that with my M29 Smith that I had at the same time. As you know, I also have a Virginian Dragoon 44 Mag - I got that because I wanted to take some of the heavy use off the Ruger thinking that I might shoot that gun loose - I needn't have worried - the Virginian had some issues with lighter bullets so I stuck with the RSBH - it just shot everything and asked for more...My loads were 22 grains of 2400 powder and the 245 gr Keith 44 bullet...not quite up to H110, but pretty close.... The H110 loads will be nicely handled in the Marlin with those deer loads... Good shootin' to ya!!

I just found a real Winchester 1876 in .357! Been looking for a long time. I like 21.8 gr of W296 behind a 125gr Zero jacketed flat nose.
