Most of us down south lost things during Hurricane Katrina. This family gained something.... bees. This lady now has grand children living with her and she doesn't want to take any chances on them getting stung so she had us remove them (the bees, not the grand children). They now live at my house.
There is also a time lapse video of this entire removal. It can be seen here: • Katrina Bees Time Laps...
The wide angle camera used for the time lapse can be found on our affiliate link amzn.to/1W43xvn

Wait he did this without a suit, chief I think this is it
Regular honey bees and Africanized Bees are entirely different beasts. Regular ones are pretty chill and don't go into hive-defense mode. Africanized ones are much more aggressive and you should never get near them without a suit and lots of training.
Palitato are the regular bees the European honey bee?
@ european bees are invasive
i'm not very used to being mistaken...
..... *shit*
Peter Richard-Johnson so it’s pretty much a gmo bee? Lol
You know those times when you find yourself in a random part of the internet? That's right now. Only now I wanna start my own colony. It's fascinating :P
+XxEpicPilot4UxX Me too, only this was because I watched a man paintball a wasp nest.
+XxEpicPilot4UxX same here I was watching satisfying videos
Of people slipping in paintball
+Twins Sings hahaha 😂
Looking into how to start one
Just a southern man vacuuming up bees on his ‘sittin on bucket.’
Nothing outta the ordinary.
Woe betide the man who don't have a sittin' on bucket
a comb bucket, a sittin on bucket, and a hand washin bucket
the lord of buckets
Exactly what I was thinking. I kept on referencing the buckets to myself whenever he'd say something. Like when he said the thing about putting the knife in the wood, I was like "I don't feel like using my knife bucket." That kind of thing.
_Sitzkrieg thats the weird part? Where is the bee suit?
He left his bee suit in his bee suit bucket
Warshin' bucket
*FTFY
He needs more BUCKETS!!!
u should put a sting counter on your videos
I love how gentle you are. Thanks for saving the bees.
I agree
+Lane Amelia atleast one ONE! got slapped
+Lane Amelia I would of killed them all with fire
+K Rock lmfao 😂😂
+K Rock thats how I would do it lol
*This dude takes down a bee hive with thousands of bees no problem with NO bee suit.*
*I run into 1 bee and I run like someone just pulled a gun on me.*
NickOnPC i just piss myself then skidadul skodudul my way out of there
@@arandomdude8584 Nothing unusual about that. Many amateur beekeepers do not wear any more protection than necessary for their particular bee strain and existing weather/flow conditions. I often work mine, during the May/June flow, without any sort of protection.
The professionals with thousands of hives do not have the luxury of slow and gentle handling or waiting for better weather conditions. They work to tight schedules so wear suits allowing them to pretty much ignore the bees and do the hive manipulations necessary to get their work done on time.
lol
It's satisfying to hear him say "bucket"
lol
Every year, when I was young, my school would do that fundraiser where you send animal's to people in Africa. And every year I'd fight to send bees. I always lost to the people who wanted to send a cow. We'd raise enough to send maybe one cow, but the same amount could send several hives. My argument was always that sending a lot of bees did more good than sending one cow, cause you can eat and sell honey. And if you sent several hives, you're handing someone a business. Where as one cow could only feed a family for a while. I think I always lost because the bees were a lower cost and therefore seemed less prestigious. Every class wanted to be the one that raised enough to send a cow. I also think it was fueled by sentiment, a large mammal just seems more valuable, when to me sending as many bees as we could would do the most good for the most people. It still bugs me that I couldn't argue that point better. Ad that every year the perceived superiority of sending a cow won out.
Haha I remember those fund raisers. I don't think they had them until my kids were in school but it seemed like a scam to me.
628DirtRooster I think they did what they said they did, but in hindsight I doubt how effective sending people live animals was.
TheCyberwoman do they have honey bees in Africa maybe it could be an invasive species if sent idk but I'm going to look it up
Wayne Paul Africanizing more species of bees would NOT be smart
Depends on where in africa you actually send said animal. Does the area have enough plantlife to sustain those hives? Same goes with a cow. Is there enough grass for the cow to eat? Oh well, i dont know, just a thought.
I love that he gives information as he goes.
Really good video
Thanks Amanda
I'm just amazed at how Bee Keeping is. When I was a little girl, there was a older gentleman that used to go to my Grandparents house. If he knew I was there, he'd bring me a jar of honey with a comb in it. And a beautiful Apple from one of his trees. I was sad when he passed on, I was really sad. But that Man made me fascinated with Bee Keeping. Where I live we aren't allowed to keep bees. But one day ... I hope I can.
cant you wear gloves!!!, there's no way I would have gone *anywhere* near this!!!
Without a flamethrower and armor
Kingdome Cthulhu
these are nice bees, they just pollinate and grow. they don't sting unless you really really provoke them or kill them, specifically once you've doused them with smoke to make them dizzy. Wasps on the other hand...
“There’s no way I”... No one asked you to go anywhere.
Sure, gloves can be worn. However, since they reduce your feeling capability, you are more likely to crush bees accidentally - thus causing the hive to become defensive. This in turn often means you now have to don a suit and veil. The full suit slows you down and makes working the bees more difficult.
You got balls to be doing that without any protective gear, steel balls.
+Keaton0801 That's exactly what I was thinking.
That’s what I said!
1.4 million views... I could see your love for the bees in how you patiently took them out. Nicely done. I would love to have some honeybees but I'm in city limits. 8( This was a beautiful hive. 8)
"I got a comb bucket, a sittin'-on bucket, and a hand washing bucket." A sittin'-on bucket is the most important of all the buckets. This guy is a pro.
LOL!!
More like hurricane tortilla
U hav a cute pupper
i was hoping someone to say that
Kalyssa Hernandez i bust out laughing when i read that
Made me lol. Thanks
BEAT ME TO IT
Vacuuming them all up looks extremely satisfying.
Doesnt it?
Vacuuming bees looks satisfying, but in reality it sucks.
*watches a bunch of videos and movies on bees* omg so fascinating!!! I love bees!!!!
*sees a single bee somewhere* AHHHH ITS GOING TO KILL ME RUN RUN RUN AWAYYYY
Meowria SAAAAAAAMMMMMEEEE 😂😂😂😂
RubyyQuartzz lol hes growing hair 😂
Same. I'm so AFRAID of bees!
Same tho
I know right! I am fairly young and have been stung 10 plus times, then I see this dude handling entire hives like it's no problem!
This was really impressive. You are truly good at what you do. This was my first time watching anything like this. You seem to have a heart for the bees. I'm terrified of them and I'll probably never do what you do but I do respect your job.
Thanks so much for watching Cheryl.
What this man shows is a calm heart calm mind an a slow steady hand. This is the basis of any good bee keeper. Dark colors tend to draw attention while lighter non highly brights tend to make them land an say hi. Bees are truly a wounder they can tell who is here to kill vs who is here to help. While i wish i had hives of my own i do work with a few bee an wasp types to try an help educate people i may end up making some videos on how to deal with wasps an how to make them your own personal guard dogs.
I love the friendly rivalry between you and Mr Ed. If I wasn't highly allergic to bee venom I would definitely keep bees. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through y'all.
Robert Simmons Bee have venom?? Or are you talking about bee stings?
I'M IN THE BEES PART OF UA-cam OHMAHGAWD

Any body else felt like there were bees climbing all over you
+Spikey-gaming&more Quit scaring him Chad.
+Spikey-gaming&more is that a legit statement? if so what is it called?
not really. I kept looking behind me to make sure there are none behind me.
+Spikey-gaming&more what if it felt like there were some near me? ( I kept watching my back)
For me it was a spider crawling on me😩
It's 2:30 AM and I'm not tired so I was on a related video clicking spree and I ended up here. I don't normally watch bee videos, but this was very interesting to watch and I have to leave a comment commending you on your loyalty to your subscribers and viewers. Not many UA-camrs have that kind of respect for the community and I scroll down to see that the community is all around amazing so I can see why you enjoy doing this! Great job to you and godspeed to everything that comes your way!
+ClevelandClips Thanks for the great comment. We do have a lot of love and mutual respect in this community.
"
+ClevelandClips Hahah, exactly what i was doing and i stumbled upon this and watched the whole video late at night.
Your voice is so soothing. I don’t know a single thing about bees but this is so satisfying to see
i have a phobia of bees yet im fascinated by them. was great to watch
+Dbreeze986 They are fun to work with.
I am too but more wasps, yellow jackets and hornets
ikrr
That's so me
I know right
11:09 is my favorite part. Thought you laid a small peep. Turned out it was a bee.
ll1l2l1l2lll jajaja true
Bee got him good.
idk why this is so satisfying
exactly
it's because of the honey combs isn't it
I could care less about the bees the honey combs are so satisfying
that's not what I meant but okay
I love bees. they help us make honey and everything, they are really hard workers
I just started watching a couple of months ago, now I’m addicted to your channel. Colleen from 🇨🇦
You make me want to start bee keeping. I wonder if they can sense if you are uptight or not. They seemed so docile. You are quite gentle and your voice is so calm and easy on the ears. I hope you have a lot of success with these bees.
Give this man a medal
Just make sure it comes with magnetic clasp so he’s not getting a pokey from it! (Poor 628 DirtRooster will soon look like a pin cushion if he doesn’t watch it)!
These are my favorite types of UA-camrs just chill people sittin’ on a buck
I learn a lot by watching your videos, After my first two bad years of mistakes and loosing my bees this year I will try again with a two year brake to gain more knowledge. Setting out swarm traps.
Its like Bob Ross but handling bees. So relaxing
Had to like my own comment cause im lonely 😭😭😭😭😭😫😫😫😫
I’ll like it too. :)
HELLO I PLAY LEAGUE What the heck...I'll like it, too. 🙂
I'll like it too lol
I came in a year later just to like this comment.
If a bee gets near me I go ballistic and spastic. Yet you just stand there talking and they fly around you like crazy and it doesn't phase you I am totally amazed and impressed. PS I have subscribed
Thanks for the sub Charlotte
I'm more scared of wasps than I am with bees.
Lord Beerus I am, too. We have a paper wasp problem in my area. Those guys are aggressive. We had mud daubers for years and they didn't bother us. Then one year, all of the mud daubers were gone and the paper wasps took over the neighborhood.
Randy is DEFINITELY the Bee Whisperer...👍👍
5:37 when you realize your exterminating the biggest bee hive while your beekeeper gear is in the dry-cleaner
bee nice bro, i'm no exppert
He was not even mean lol
He just stated that there is a difference without being mean nor ecspecially polite.
Some people today are wimps srsly.
how would you say "know the difference" without it sounding at least kinda mean
+floSa he was being smug
Caleb Evans I really wasn't trying to be smug
Hey my friend.. Dont let anyone put you down.
Your doing a great job!!
Without the typical Bee honey extractor equipment, your showing great videos on handling.
Just watch more vids and read more tutorials..
Your gonna be great!!!
Not sure how I found my way to this video, but I'm glad I did. Cool channel, dude.
Thank you for taking care of bees. They are so important to our food.
I think the “sitting on bucket” is the most important! 😂
Definitely! Couldn't finish the job without it.
So impressed! At first I gave a thumbs down when I saw that shop-vac, but when I realized that the bees were okay with what you were doing then I knew they must be okay, so changed to a thumbs up.
That honeycomb with the pollen was SOOOOOOOO beautiful! I'd never seen that before even though I grew up amidst multiple bee keeper neighbors. Now I'm wishing we had set up some hives, too.
Thanx for a really great post, I've subscribed!
Everyone sing with me, hell naw, to the naw naw, naw. hell to the naw.
right. lol
looool i'm singing
ralph laurens 😂
ralph laurens NAW NAW NAW NAW NAW
ralph laurens Hell to the naw to the naw naw naw!
Sittin' on bucket.
Only one sting to the back and half a dozen to the hand? For real? I would of said hell naw after the first sting.
LOL
Your a baby
Janrel Delacruz you're
I commented down below but wanted to say this here you handle bees like my grandfather did. Its refreshing to see the art of gearless bee relocation is still being done to many people take it for granted when watching you but it is truly a dieing art.
laughing really hard at the description "(the bees, not the grand children)."
@11:09 i thought you farted but it was a bee LOL
Lmao!! I thought he farted too XD
hahhA
IM LAUGHING SO HARD Xd
Dennis Nunez maybe the bee farted
This made me fart laughing
Thanks for explaining things while you work. Great videos.
My wife, who has a dainty soul and who can't stand to see animals hurt or forcibly removed wanted me to tell you she very much enjoyed your kind and gentle nature and respect for the bees.
Tell her thank you for the nice comment.
had to sub bro, this is really awesome, i know its an old video but its still great that you were taking care of the bees so gently, and wow that was one big nest. ill keep watching because this channel is pretty cool :)
Thanks for the sub.
628DirtRooster no problem bro, its cool what you do with bees :)
Brainkill Gaming It's a lot of work but a lot of fun.
628DirtRooster and your saving honey bees so that's awesome :)
ا
smart man, sittin on bucket
This is one of those dogs that never gives up he’ll bark through the whole video 😭
Why do you need the queen?
I was scratching the whole time watching this video. You didn’t wear no suit or no gloves? You have a hell of a gift in life. Most experience I’ve ever seen
amazing work i have nothing but respect for those who capture n keep as opposed to those who kill. bees are amazing creatures to be loved n respected!!
MUCH MUCH RESPECT FOR YOUR WORK
Sean Mills You do know they are a gold mine right?
Without bees we humans die
Was that not a vacuum?
Except for wasps their assholes, and eat honey bees.
a sittin on bucket
You're my hero. I would never be able to do your job.
No idea how I found your channel, really interesting stuff though, I like it... going to work my way through your videos, thanks for doing them by the way.
same here good stuff , I love learning about new things that I don't know about and he sparks interest
Never kept a bee hive but love them. Love how gentle you were!!!
My favorite part of this was when you said a "sittin' on bucket" :)
+Jensen Payne Everybody needs a good sittin on bucket. :)
For some reason I’ve been obsessed with bee removal videos.. it’s just so interesting to see it happen
This video actually really helped with my phobia of bees
I mean people shouldn't really be scared of bees. Maybe wasps but not bees.
@@lordbeerus3383 The larger wasps are actually quite docile. The smaller ones are when they are eating.
This actually increased my phobia 😂
I feel the same I have triphobia and a bee phobia from when I was small and it got big on q fields trip that half of the middle school got stung on that was the first time I got stung hopefully I het over my phobia
@@lilythere1382 More than likely, it was hornets or wasps that stung the kids on that field trip. But unfortunately, any stinging insect is automatically a "bee" to most people, even school teachers who should know better.
5:03 .................... is that.... a bee vacuum? I want a bee vacuum.
+Piggy Craft Yep
+Piggy Craft i do to :D
+Piggy Craft same
You really just need one of those vacuums that can suck up bees, and keep them inside, or just kill the bees.
My neighbor, a old man, never wore a suit and we kids played right in front of the hives and we never got attacked by the bees.
I am old now and I want to learn about bees now and want to keep some.
Thank you for the video.
J & B Homeliving judging by the profile picture I'm guessing this turned out well?
We ALL learn something new every single day! I’ve enjoyed watching you and your Dad. Your wife is adorable! Blessings
"They now live at my house" the bees, not the grandchildren
I got shivers all over
why were the bees just chillin why you take apart their home lmao
+Justin Taylor The smoke makes it so it basically messes with their defensive nerves or something. It makes them so they don't care.
+OmniAnimaKun 😪😒😒
+Justin Taylor +ItzCryrex The smoke actually tricks the bees into thinking there is a fire. Because of this, the bee's will try to eat as much honey as they can so they have food in case they have to move to a new home. A bee full of honey makes the bee very valuable and they become less likely to sting because, as we all know, when a bee stings it dies. Naturally the bee's don't want to die while carrying the food so they don't sting.
Bees think that their combs are on fire so they go back to their comb and try to protect it.
well they don't always die but its pretty much 90% chance after a sting.
You seem to be a true caring bee keeper. God bless and keep you and your family, my friend.
Hurricane Katrina more like hurricane T O R T I L L A
StarryPainter50 I knew someone would say this lol 😂
5:10 "Dangit, my bees are dirty agin. Oh well." *Gently vacuums bees clean*
Beekeeping is so fascinating
Thanks for watching Dave.
No clue how I started watching bee keeping videos, but now I am addicted! Love your videos!
Imagine if those were africanized.
Breanna Thompson he would be dead
Hell no.
There would be no video
Felxion true
No
As I watch this and all of a sudden feel as if something's crawling on my leg ffs.
Wow! I couldn't imagine doing with without a suit and gloves. You're awesome.
I used to be terrified of bees, because I was stung when I was little. After watching your videos, my whole attitude has changed. Amazing little critters. Thanks for making these!
Thanks for the views Jared.
I watched a video called "Risk Takers Killer Bees" and now I'm here.
Yooooo me too. Popped up in my recommended. I'm surprised I didn't freak out because I'm terrified of bees
I would be beyond horrified to do this.. Even in a full body suit. How does anyone do this while wearing nothing wtf. Props to you
i'd buy a tank and blast the house from afar
+EvilWetCat Allah Akbar
thers a bomb in my car
+FMLiTz Jok3r I hope this is not a joke because Allahu Akbar means God's greatest
+FMLiTz Jok3r allah akbee
Sir you deserve so much respect! I would be too scared to do this without gear
I am a recent subscriber, my father kept over 20 hives in other peoples gardens. And ideal locations around town. I like how you can spin a story and teach at the same time. I look forward to more.
No idea why but I find this interesting. Nice job.
Poor bees. They just want to live, make honey and sting kids. They don't know any better.
Life just isn't fair. ;)
Poor bees? He could have poisoned them and been done he took the time and gave then new home
Rees Freeman they gonna learn real fast where not to live lol
@@mikisteryr6406
poison them? Do you know how insignificant humans are to the earth? We could disappear and the world would flourish.
If bees, ants, certain insects were to vanish - humans would die.
Alright we get it, humans suck, thanks kanye for the message weve all heard 5 times a day since we got in high school. You sure are above everyone else. I wish i could be like you.
Its so weird I absolutely hate need even one of them makes me run away and stay far far away but I love watching these videos they are so interesting
I recently captured a swarm in a nuc box. I didn't think locking them in was an option. Hope they're still there when I get back to check on them.
The one surprising thing I find is you doing all of this without a bee suit o-o
Nut'n to it. ;)
Meow Woof I would need Wheeler's ring from Captain Planet. #FIRE
Or the Fiendfyre spell from Harry Potter
beautiful creatures
Indeed!
Do you really not give a damn if they sting you
Sully Brewer They cant kill you. he only got a few sting. He would onky have to go to the hospital if he got hundreds of stings
Sully Brewer unless you are allergic to bees they aren't that bad. (1 or 2stings)
Frank Torrez and the ones that stay with the hive generally don't have stingers
Cheeki Slav he mentioned before that he can take 150 stings like its nothing because he has a built up a resistance to it from years of beekeeping
Oscar Bird Music I wonder if he would rather get stung by few hundred bees or eat a Carolina Reaper pepper.
Absolutely love your channel. Just discovered it last night and have been binge watching all of your content. I'm personally terrified of bees, but it's absolutely fascinating to see a whole other side to something you can't normally see from a non-bee keeping perspective.
Thanks for contributing something worthwhile to UA-cam. It's a welcomed change.
Also, just a side note, I'm more book smart than anything else, but even I can appreciate the amount of intelligence it takes to handle this sort of thing on the multi-faceted levels that obviously apply to safely and effectively performing this sort of job. Don't ever downplay your own intelligence or talents, and especially don't allow others to do so either. Your own far supersedes that of anyone who would dumb themselves down by criticize you for any reason.
Remember that, and keep the awesome content coming!!! ♡♡♡
Ever heard of a beekeeper suit or do you like getting recked by honeybees
bees only sting if they're caught by surprise, so he sprays that smoke to basically notify them and they'll know he's there and most likely won't sting him. So he doesn't really need a suit as long as he sprays that smoke :)
+Jailene Marquez At least that's what I've read/watched. I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on that lol
lol cool thnx that would be so cool to piss of a bunch of bees in a beekeepers suit
scary but cool
I have a suit but they are very hot.
This man's a legend he is doing this WITH HIS BARE HANDS I MEAN DAMN
Many, maybe even most, hobby beekeepers do not wear gloves when working their bees, unless absolutely necessary. Gloves are the LAST protective item a beekeeper would need.
Damn!.... no gloves? No suit?? Wow beast mode!
~ My brother keeps bees on his property in Louisville, KY, and I now also find this whole subject so fascinating. Thank you for your work and your very interesting videos. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Thanks for checking us out David.

A bear going after honey
I really enjoy these videos, for some reason honey bees are really soothing for me. Thanks for sharing
Cade Falcone honey bees are super chill, most people like them. I used to have a honey bee buddy who would land on my shoulder and chill out until I got home. Once in a while I would bring a flower for him
yeah it sucks that they somehow have alot of criticism and made people think they are bad and attack people :(
Thanks for the views Cade.
628DirtRooster thanks for posting as always!
Cade Falcone * makes mosquito noises *
I am so tickled to see this I would just love to try my hand at bee keeping. You are amazing how gentle you are. Thank you. I love watching you and learning. You must have a good eye to be able to spot the queen. I know if were not for people like yourself we would not have food so God bless you for what you do and thanks for sharing.
