Quick note that I wanted to add because I only clocked onto this earlier today, after I had recorded this video: Any tank item where theres Shield Block Value, give a slight prio to the Warrior tank over the Prot Pala even if its a close decision because stacking SBV is going to be one of the best ways to balance chonk and better threat for Prot Warriors. Eg. Vambraces of Courage. Also, recent information on Big Bad Wolf's Paw - BiS for Survival Hunter thanks again to weightstones. Therefore, prio them there!
New info on Enhance - Liar's Tongue Gloves from Maggy are simming ahead of Grips of Deftness; whilst it seems now T4 helm+shoulders are BiS combo for 2pc, so ill make these adjustments to the sheet shortly - TLDR - Enhance down on T4 Chest and Grips prio, Top on Liar's Tongue, Top tier for T4 helm now also.
Hey Knot, since you were concerned over the runtime: I'm sure you are familiar with Skarm's loot prio discussion vids and they are just as long, so don't worry about it! Those are super popular, likely a more niche audience than the 8-10min vids, but there definitely is one. While LCs might be interested in watching it all, most people will just skip through to the items that interest them so runtime is less of an issue there :)
Ribbon of Sacrifice is bis until Sunwell. It doesnt just give the stacking healing to that healer, it gives it to *every healer in your entire raid* when it is popped. You can cycle them through healers and get incomparable value.
I used the Pendant from Shade on my Holy Pala up until the end of TBC, it was quite amazing (I thought) and I was in a world top 50 Guild at the time xD I honestly felt my mana hold when I used this trinket, and was a life saver along w/ the alchemy one on Muru. (Could have been a lot worse then what I thought, but at the time I loved it) :D As well thank you for making this clip, I may not agree with 100% everything, but I do respect the work that went into it, and its always good to hear what other people think :) One small edit that did trigger me a bit, and I am biased since I play a Feral dps, but I feel that if you are talking about loot for dps don't assume what Guilds are going to use a class for, if X is amazing for Feral dps I feel its faulty to assume that every Feral will be a tank and as such not worth considering. I would not have bought it up, but you did it a few times already and I felt the need to say that some of us will do dps 99% of the time :)
As a Ret player I’d just like to add that Ret gets 3% hit from talents, 3% hit from Boomkins and 1% hit from Draenei Warriors/Hunters/Paladins (should you have those in your party). For thoese reasons hit is such a stupidly low priority for us, Expertise on the other hand is extremely important for Ret because if our white swings get dodged we also lose out on our Seals doing damage. Point by point Expertise is close to 7 times more valuable than Hit for Retribution, not saying anything with expertise should by default go to Ret ...but I kinda am!
Yeah expertise is fantastic for Ret, my only concern was that the raw stats of Martial Perfection are apparently pretty much identical on EP value, and there doesn't seem to be an up-to-date sim tool to be sure whether the EP is 'wrong' in practical scenarios, or largely correct. Grips are definitely an item where more sims would give greater clarity.
40:00 ribbon of sacrifice is pog for druids with the amount of gcds they'll put out during the duration usually on the tank makes it his for heavy dmg phases and it's on 2 min cd
regarding the moonkin mana on melee, i was getting 300 mana per auto attack with earthwarden and no buffs and it got me from 0 to 9k mana in 40 sec when you let the bonk and passive mana reg do its thing. With the illhoof staff, motw and BoM if you have palas to spare i could see you getting more around 400 mana per basic plus illhoof staff is even faster than earthwarden, so as a boomkin, you should not sleep on the mana bonks if you have earthwarden or even illhoof staff!!
@knot your google docs sheet has nightbane, chess, and prince tabs a little screwed up. Prince loot shows up on the nightbane and prince loot tabs. Nightbanes loot shows up on the chess event tab, and the chess loot doesnt show up at all.
The healing off hand from morord that you said was basically void crystal foddrr is actually pre arena bis for priest/druids unless u have nightbane staff for spirit or mag staff for far primary stats
I got the mindblade on my Spriest about 2 weeks ago after running Kara ~10 times without seeing it. Guild has been pretty geared out and I was lucky for minimal competition since our Mage runs on another night and got his mindblade weeks earlier...I just had to roll against a warlock and I won. My character now sits in no man's land until p2 as I'm near BiS but it's almost not worth the effort for the remaining two pieces (trinket and bracers) at this point.
In terms of hunter weapons, you should recognize that hunters only want fist weapons if they're not melee weaving. With that in mind, I believe Legacy is BiS for weaving in Phase 1 if a hunter does not have Blacksmithing for Mooncleaver.
Tier 4 gloves become best in slot together with shoulders for warlocks in phase 2 onwards when using the 2set piece (shoulders) together with The robe from Lady Vashj. Considering how many slots are taken due to spellstrike and shadoweave i would gloves for t4 along with shoulders or chest, depending on what u prefer, i wouldve gone with gloves and shoulders as they are the ones ur gonna keep going into tier 6
As a druid offtank/dps with most bis pieces except deftness. I would use the grips over t4 and lose the armor in favor of the expertise. Also you say that shapeshifters is better than garona for feral dps. And yes, it is. But there are 2 ring slots. And one should be taken by a garona signet ring.
Great video very interesting to watch. Hunters are prio too often tho in the video imo. Even if they go boom you can’t prio them so much that all other physical dps aren’t having fun knowing that so many things are going to BM hunters first of which they is more than one. Whereas enhance, rogue, arms, Ret, and even fury are all normally a single one and that’s it. There are SOOO many guilds on Mankrik horde side (which is the highest population horde side PvE server) looking for ENH Sham still. Hard to keep a good one around and happy if most of their shit is being prio to all BM hunters first. Considering all they bring, and the dps they are doing i would rather prio the single enhance then go with the hunters. Nothing brings as much to a raids overall dps as a shaman. Not to mention enhance are doing some seriously good dps currently. This coming from BM Hunter main. The Enhance in my guild constantly parses 98 and at times 99. Last Kara he was getting close to 1700 dps on shade with no drums and a single bloodlust. They give 112 strength, 88 agility, 10% attack power, 50 MP5, bloodlust, AND Windfury on top of doing great dps. Why bother staying in a guild if you take back seat so often on gear when you can switch to one and not have to do that. Hunters should have prio on items for sure but not that much because there is more than one. Where as if you prio just one BM Hunter than go to the enhance before the other BM hunters then that’s not gonna go well. Make the single enhance happy if it’s a good one. Good hunters can be found by the dozen due to how simplistic and easy the class is to play optimally.
Do you think LW or Tailoring will be the preferred profession for balance druids? The extra dam from tailoring is appealing but the mana efficiency from LW may actually be better for continuous pulls. Thoughts?
Without knowing how Phase 2 feels in its classic iteration, its hard to say and I think alot of the close decisions on professions, where they are present, are best looked at through the lens of Phase 2 progress rather than Phase 1 simply because Phase 1 content is going to be very easygoing comparatively, at least until Magtheridon. With that said, I'd lean towards leatherworking, not only will the regen potentially be important in Phase 2, but there is something to be said about the lack of stamina on tailoring sets when you consider future content, even Nightbane is chunking non-tanks hard in the transitions since they buffed the encounter on beta. Likewise, whilst its super mana inefficient overall, it might allow for some wrath spam for burst windows on bosses if that make senses/is important, but thats a big 'if'. Again, technically spellfire has the highest potential but I dunno, part of me would lean towards the 'safe' option.
34:40 Dunno what this statement about shamans not being happy to cast Chain Heal "early on" is based on, but it's honestly just plain wrong. Chain Heal spam is the highest possible HPS a shaman can do from the get-go, and is what resto shamans will be doing throughout all of TBC unless assigned to tank healing (even then, they'll often simply bounce their Chain Heals off of their assigned tank). An extra 87 healing power on their bread-and-butter spell (which happens to triple-dip on healing power) is absolutely massive and every resto shaman will want to lock this in their relic slot ASAP.
2:29:45 Just a note on Grips of Deftness vs Gauntlets of Martial Perfection - the latter are such a massive downgrade compared to Grips according to the sweaty spreadsheets on paladin discords. I dont have the sim in front of me right now, but its in the 20-30 dps range as far as I recall. Someone correct me on this if Im wrong. Either way, pala experts like Pride and Blayst all recommend that you gun HARD for the Grips asap. So I think it should be at least an even prio between Enh shammies and Ret pallies. Just putting that out there for consideration :-) great video again mate!
Great Video! I appreciate All the work you put into this. One Thing i kinda disagree with is the pocket watch from moroes. I played on endless and talked to other Tanks with years of pserver exp. They stated that it is really really good especially for ferals and Palas Since for ferals dodge is their only avoidance stat and for Palas tanking aoe Packs or even prince or nb it comes in handy
I agree it definitely has some uses, I didn't intend to make it sound awful, if thats how it came across - more that it's not like an equip and stay equipped type trinket for tanks. It would be more of a role player item, so not too much point putting too much priority either way. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Spiteblade is mainhand for TBC classic, at least for now, as is Decapitator, Fool's Bane etc, which is why you'd go rogue, just not many options for Rogue, whilst Fury has more. Important to note though - even if its 'rogue prio' - melee weapons don't have the same competition level compared to Vanilla. Less melee players in the raid and more diversity in viable options compared to Vanilla for sure. But to answer your question - Shamans are in a really awkward spot since they want A) Slow off-hands only B) A matching speed OH to their MH ideally because that can be manipulated to gain a good DPS boost - I'm not the best person to explain that though. So from what I can tell, if you're running Decapitator on Enhance, or Fool's Bane til you get a Decapitator, one of the better OH options is the Blue Honor axe (High Warlord / Grand Marshal 70 version) as far as accessible options go. Same speed as Decapitator for the matching up dps gain thing and itemised reasonably even though its a blue. Outside of that, Enhance have extremely limited options - one of big reasons they were upset at the BS change. For Fury, its a lot simpler because Malchazeen is actually a good weapon for their OH and has very little demand if any outside of the Fury Warrior(s). Similarly, Blade of the Unrequieted is good, but again a dagger as you mention. Also, if you were Human, Fury can use Latro's from Black Morass for ages, the itemisation on it is great even though its a blue, added onto Human racial, its competitive til Phase 2/Glad offhand.
@@KnotxD Spiteblade is one handed though, and is a shit ton better than latros. Daggers are really bad on warriors because of attack power normalization, stealing flurry attacks from main hand, and low weapon damage on whirlwind.
Your Gorehowl reasoning seems...weak. You mention that it's the second best weapon for rets that aren't a swordsmith which isn't true, but even if it was, exactly the same applies to warriors (despite taking axe spec. into account). The only upgrades to Gorehowl (but are weaker than blacksmithing weapons) for arms and ret is Ethereum Nexus-Reaver, which is especially strong on a ret due to being 3.7 AS, as well as the season 1 Gladiator's Greatsword. In addition, rets can use the Glaive of the Pit as well as Hammer of the Naaru which both perform just as well or even better than Gorehowl for a ret. Both your ret and arms should be a weaponsmith anyways, but if for some reason neither are and you're trying to reason like this, I'd probably leave the guild as the arms since this seems like a massive LC mistake to me. Imagine giving Gorehowl to the ret and then starting to disenchant Glaive and HotN since they're both useless for the arms.
Both should be weaponsmith, for sure. I was trying to avoid including Wboss and Glad weapons in the discussion; in that context, I think its still correct to say its more powerful individually for the Ret but sword options are pretty weak outside of S1 and Swordsmith, so I take the point that Hammer of the Naaru gets DE'd in that scenario which is suboptimal for the early weeks, assuming the scenario. I guess I'd have no preference between the two then I guess, it shouldn't really be a situation regardless.
Its patchy coverage but typically you have to go to the specific discord server and then the TBC spec channel. If you google 'ClassX Classic Discord' for your desired sim, should be able to find the server/channel, but as mentioned, a bunch of specs dont have full (or any in some cases) sims available.
@@KnotxD you never played a prot pally on pservers then. you're starving for defensive stats and stamina early in t4 and parts of t5 content. you PLAN for crush cap first and foremost to tank bosses. you're not just a trash tank like back in 2007. focusing on threat first is the worse possible thing a pally tank can do. you can reliably hold threat with 350-400 SP. you do not need over 800 SP just to tank mag/gruuls. also those bosses hit VERY hard so going full threat shilling is quite awful when it's not even an issue in a full mitigation set. i highly recommend you go into the TBC class discords and do some homework first before recommending guilds handle loot poorly before the real raiding begins in tier 5 and beyond.
Gavel actually has 159 SP, so even more of a gap. That dagger is gonna cause fucktons of drama xD Almost as much as my prot pally having to steal the sword from SSC ^^
@knot A suggestion for the future: group the video by roles, e.g. start off by caster specific gear, continue with melee, tank loot, healers and so forth, while having a section or more dedicated to shared loot between roles (trinkets, tier etc). It's gonna take more time to plan out and edit, but easier to contextualize when watching :) As a warlock main I don't necessarily care about healer loot, and vice versa. Great bit of contribution to LC discussions either way though, great content!
Fair, yeah I had forgot to checkout the meleeweaving weapons, I'd seen that it was doable on some bosses - I guess its best in the hands of meleeweavers given that there isn't much else demand for it
Sim tools (developed recently) where possible, otherwise utilising hive mind in various discords, I've tried to note wherever things aren't 100% certain at this early stage.
@@KnotxD did you run that grips of deftness by the rogue discord? I was under the impression rogues wore shoulders/helm for bis setup - is simtools using Simon’s script? @@devonherron9935 doesn't seem like he even bothered with the class specific discords. Simulation tools do NOT indicate what is best for tanks or certain classes. it's literally blindly following a piece of paper with 0 forethought. imagine recommending tier 4 legs to any melee dps class while shattrath legs/clefthoof are bis till t6.
That will be a thing soon! I haven't made it look nice yet, its just ugly ass notes on a spreadsheet, but it'll be available as soon as I get a chance to pretty it up :)
daym war really got dicked on here aye edit (wars legit on bottom prio for everything below hunts/rogues/enhc) but that was before we knaw about the war PUMP!!!
No feral will use full T4 ever but they need full t4 to pick and choose their 2pc or 4 pc and maintain hit cap/def cap depending if dps or tank which is why a feral will pass on t5 for war tanks in exchange despite T5 akso being better than that once you have 4+pcs
For balanced sets, all 5 pieces is very strong. Nerdegghead who wrote the new Wowhead gear guide did a lot of sims etc, you can definitely get more aggressive but 5/5 t4 is very good
@@KnotxD show me a crit capped druid in full T4 feral That isnt sacrificing stats somewhere else using 5 pc, and feral dps, despite me hating the item wolfshead helm lol
Suggestion. Cut this video into chunks and re release it. I saw over 2 hours and assumed it was just a recorded stream of random shit and talking...not actual the focused content this was. Might get alot of views.
So bummed out by Blizzard's monetization, and p2w mount. And no fresh server meaning the economy will be fucked, people buying their BiS in the first few days. Won't be like the TBC of old
When the video is considered a massive undertaking just to watch that must mean it was even harder to create. Thanks for this one man!

I kinda wish that tier was more competitive BiS, sucks running around in random cloth items as a healer
Yeah it can be sad to run around like you got dressed in the dark; but Tier definitely becomes more competitive for most specs once we get to Phase 2!
small nitpick - the badge shield is better than the nightbane shield for elemental - loving the video so far tho
I don't see Skarm as the author of this.
Where can we find sim tools for specs, just curious where to look
Its patchy coverage but typically you have to go to the specific discord server and then the TBC spec channel. If you google 'ClassX Classic Discord' for your desired sim, should be able to find the server/channel, but as mentioned, a bunch of specs dont have full (or any in some cases) sims available.
prot pallies do not grab t4 gloves LOL.. not sure where you got that from.. felsteel/righteous/maiden gloves are bis.
'For general use' Aka threat. Yes they will. You're not going to run full defense for every encounter.
Knot will you be doing a P2 loot prio?
Yep will be making it this week
@@KnotxD you da man!
Gavel actually has 159 SP, so even more of a gap. That dagger is gonna cause fucktons of drama xD
Almost as much as my prot pally having to steal the sword from SSC ^^
Good catch, I feel less unsure about my take there then ^^
@knot A suggestion for the future: group the video by roles, e.g. start off by caster specific gear, continue with melee, tank loot, healers and so forth, while having a section or more dedicated to shared loot between roles (trinkets, tier etc). It's gonna take more time to plan out and edit, but easier to contextualize when watching :) As a warlock main I don't necessarily care about healer loot, and vice versa.
Great bit of contribution to LC discussions either way though, great content!
Good shout, I'll try reformat it, would probably be a bit easier to follow by keeping the same themes in separate sections rather than mixed up
I disagree, this tool is mostly used for loot councils so having by boss would be better
Are we still getting a priest guide disc and holy @knot?
Yep, for sure, next priority is Prot Warrior and Holy/Disc Priest to go up over the next 4-5 days!
Legacy is actually really good for meleeweaving which is not dead ans actually easier than it was in classic
Fair, yeah I had forgot to checkout the meleeweaving weapons, I'd seen that it was doable on some bosses - I guess its best in the hands of meleeweavers given that there isn't much else demand for it
Fire warlocks are the best? lol i stoped there
It's been simmed, surprising as it is, Flame caps during lust are doing big work.
fire warlocks require fire mages (good luck having those) and since most raid comps will have shadow priests, shadow locks are bis..
Yo. I love this.
Where were you getting your bis setups?
Sim tools (developed recently) where possible, otherwise utilising hive mind in various discords, I've tried to note wherever things aren't 100% certain at this early stage.
@@KnotxD did you run that grips of deftness by the rogue discord? I was under the impression rogues wore shoulders/helm for bis setup - is simtools using Simon’s script? (Trusted rogue who made a tbc ss in the classic rogue discord)
Not trying to be critical just wanted to know if my info was wrong 🤷♂️
@@devonherron9935 doesn't seem like he even bothered with the class specific discords. Simulation tools do NOT indicate what is best for tanks or certain classes. it's literally blindly following a piece of paper with 0 forethought. imagine recommending tier 4 legs to any melee dps class while shattrath legs/clefthoof are bis till t6.
This is awesome. I wish there was a TLDR spreadsheet, because I won't remember it all xD
That will be a thing soon! I haven't made it look nice yet, its just ugly ass notes on a spreadsheet, but it'll be available as soon as I get a chance to pretty it up :)
@@KnotxD P L E A S E . XD... nearly started to write it down myself:P....
@Knot if you would like some help making it pretty let me know!

@@KnotxD fml that looks like a month worth of work! U are the best o.o
great video :)
Skulkers greaves....don't hunters run their dungeon set till T5?
All but the pants, typically - they can run pants but the pants are really awful as a standalone item
You should do a balance druid P1 list for us boomies :)
daym war really got dicked on here aye
edit (wars legit on bottom prio for everything below hunts/rogues/enhc) but that was before we knaw about the war PUMP!!!
Ring of a thousand marks doesn't get replaced in p2 :((
Balance Druid quick meta guide when?
Its up already! Just prot warr and holy priest to go now :)
@@KnotxD oh I must have just missed it when I ran through your channel, thanks! Great content!
Capacitor is great for arcane mages
Gavel is 159, not 183.
Yeah indeed, couldnt pull it from the top, makes me less unsure of that take.
:o this is skarms job
isnt he cancelled for kid fiddling
I dont wanna be a ret pally in your guild :D. Some serious class hate going on. Makes you feel for Bad for even Playing that spec :'D
@@Stompinwind the guy doesn't seem to get his data from any of the class discords. the prot pally stuff is purely wrong as well.
@@Imbasnap the feral tank wowhead article is written by one of the discord leaders
Suggestion. Cut this video into chunks and re release it. I saw over 2 hours and assumed it was just a recorded stream of random shit and talking...not actual the focused content this was. Might get alot of views.
3 ads in first 8 minutes, gg
I didn't realise it was that bad (the default settings), I'll take a look at it
Have removed several ad breaks and spaced them out way more, hope that improves the viewer experience
nerubian slavemaker is better than woflslayer sniper rifle/ Only prince bow beats kt xbow.
I see, due to the speed I assume? Makes sense, thanks for pointing it out
So bummed out by Blizzard's monetization, and p2w mount. And no fresh server meaning the economy will be fucked, people buying their BiS in the first few days. Won't be like the TBC of old
With 90% of pols BiS still from raids it will be fine
Bruh i love the dedication but aint NOBODY have the focus to listen to 2 hours 30 minutes
Yeah I had 90mins for Kara, Gruul's and Maggy's in mind, turns out, I underestimated myself.
You don't understand the game fully it seems to me @Knot. Don't try to make such videos because you are confusing new people in TBC.
Why are there adds every like 2 minutes? Unwatchable.
