It's a wonder more elephants don't break things during all the yelling. All that confusion and emotional chaos, who could blame them. If someone lives in bear country, elephant country or what-have-you, they better find a civilized way of dealing with things that doesn't create more trouble. Yelling about everything is a stupid thing to do. Scaring a creature is a stupid thing to do. If one doesn't want their house broken, don't scare the creature into breaking it. SMH.

He probably smelled fruit or something sweet and came to investigate. Definitely not human/wild elephant conflict; rather a regular encounter with this magnificent animal.

the human , woman actually were asking the male elephant nicely.. She called him " Por Plai" meaning the brother big elephant please come out ... and when he did not come out .. she laughed but nervous.

Elephants have an unparalleled sense of smell, greater far than any other creature, tracking dogs included. So if he knew the ranger's scent, then he knew the ranger lived there. The elephant was extremely respectful, very careful not to hurt anything.
