    Thanks to this channel in March I purchased a heavy spec 2020 Aston Martin Vantage for $86k with new brakes ($10k cost for pads and rotors and labor) and 27k miles. Original msrp sticker for mine was $187$ so I basically saved $100k to buy the current model Vantage. Love my car, it’s amazing.

      I’m looking roughly in that price range. BMW M3 Audi RS5/RS6 McLaren mp4-12C Porsche 911 and of course a used Aston. Quite a spread to choose from!

    • @BigtimeBigA
      @BigtimeBigA Місяць тому

      @@ryanc4955 That’s a nice spread and me personally bc I was trying to find something firstly that didn’t depreciate a lot it was between 911 and Vantage and I chose Vantage and have zero regrets, the car is so much fun to drive. While the Audi RA6 is nice, my next door neighbor has one, it doesn’t have the wow factor of the rest of your list. McLaren could end up very expensive with repairs so I would do a lot of research in to the common issues before buying. The Vantage both visually and sound is a wow car so expect people on road next to you recording you and people taking pictures of your car so if you’re don’t like that attention I would suggest the 911.

  • @markw9512
    @markw9512 Місяць тому +6

    The Stingrays were never going to hold the lofty prices they had initially… Both in 2020 and in 2021, production was low due to Covid and really didn’t catch up with demand until the last year or so which is when prices took a tumble because now they were out there to be found and people couldn’t keep prices as high. In other words, supply/demand equation stabilized.
    If you look at your chart, you can see that the 2020 through 2022 used prices for them were actually above their original sticker price, which was unprecedented due to the popularity of the new mid engine version and production shortages from Covid, which of course was never going to be permanent as more and more and were being produced. So the higher than normal depreciation rate you see further is basically prices going from elevated demand/restricted supply-driven prices to prices more in line with historic norms. From this point forward, barring any major disruptions, they should follow normal Corvette depreciation patterns, which are generally pretty favorable to owners.

Don’t know, don’t care. You bought it for the joy it brings, not as an investment. Relatively, 996 tts with those Mezger engines will definitely do better than most sports cars, but don’t focus on how much you can sell for in the future, otherwise you’ll leave it in the garage when you should be behind the wheel.

      IMHO, yes. The 458 is the last naturally-aspirated mid-engine V8 Ferrari. And many consider it to be one of the best looking Ferraris. Look at 355 and 328 prices as well. The best deals are in the 348, 360 and 430. I'd get a 348 if I was looking for a budget Ferrari, but they are rare so good luck.

    Cars ALWAYS loose money… even holy grail cars like 288GTO/250GTO/F40 depreciated and were tough to sell on back in the day. Lamborghini back catalogue is littered with with cars that plummeted in value for decades. Jaguar XJ220 were still in showrooms years after they ceased production, as too Lancia Integrale EVO 3’s… 🤦🏻‍♂️
    We now have a market where cheap money and tax advantages make some cars “investments”… which is not a good combination for people really passionate about petroleum… we get locked out the market by speculators. Worse, now the manufacturers are in on it and Porsche with its GT3 and Ferrari are gaming the market to the consumers disadvantage 🤷🏻‍♂️
