For those who don’t know me I’m a Guatemalan based in Denver Colorado. I started making music after going to a festival called Semana de Musica Avanzada. Were I saw a video on how the Guatemalan Electronic music had started. I had 0 musical training or experience.
So I decided to get Ableton live and a Midi Keyboard and figure it out. Soon after I figured out that it was not going to be easy. I saw music as a way to express feelings, emotions and connect with people.
Now 10 years later I have released in labels like Global Underground, Babiczstyle, and Moody Recordings. I have been able to releases alongside artist’s likes of Robert Babicz, Xpansul, Jaceo, Jonas Tempel, Ben A and Rick Wade. I Love blending gritty organic sounds with Latin instrumentation, celebrating My Latin roots and bringing that uniqueness to my production.
I served as Mentor for Redline ArtCorps a network of programs that support the arts at under-resourced schools in RedLine’s community of Five Points. By establishing strong connections between art, education, and the community, ArtCorps increases student’s opportunities for creative engagement in schools, allowing for a more rigorous and well-rounded education. I mentored Evan to learn how to produce music and channel his energy into music.
During my period with Redline, I understood that passing down knowledge has more impact and that Is why I decided to start my UA-cam channel journey and help people interested in making music in a non-technical way with videos about music production based on my experience and mistakes that I've made in my music production journey.

Fantastic video! Longtime keyboard player here, but just getting started on making beats with new Launchpad Pro Mk3 with iPad Pro, & might have signed up for Splice without knowing about their lousy cancellation policy. I had just stumbled into Loopcloud mentioned today on another vid, & landed here - so glad I did! Thank you for helping me choose the right one!

An alternate option for both of these is get a free drum synth and tweak the sounds for digital sounding kicks and snares, and rip from a free loop to get the cymbals (or a free vst that does this) because cymbals are super difficult to synthesize. Also, I recommend packs you buy and own by downloading to your hard drive. I'm having luck with ADSR stuff, they even have a sample manager with tagging

Your intro is so true. I wanted to put my splice account on hold because I have enough credits to produce during one year.. so I feel fooled because I continue to "invest" on splice, but not to get the rights to more samples, but just to keep the access to my credits. Thank you for your video, I will consume my credits and stop the subscription to splice right now !

I prefer Loopcloud. I like that you can chop, repitch and and effects before you pull the sample into DAW.

This is really awesome and inportant information, for that you get a thumbs up and a new sub ,But what I really need to know is which one would be the best for beat making and drum fills , double bass kick for metal ? Just need the drums nothing else, Undoubtedly the best beat maker for metal is and will always be a human drummer, but looking for an alternative

Great insight - Thanks! I’ve been considering Splice or Loopcloud for about a year. Until now, I’ve built my own sample library from free and other sources with ADSR Sample Manager as a Logic plugin. I like the Logic integration plus the ADSR features, even though I don’t buy ADSR packs. My only complaint is that there’s no iOS plugin for broad access to my samples when I use BM3, Cubasis or GB on an iPad. Ideally, I was looking for one service that would work both with Logic/Mac and on iOS. Splice does have both. But that cancellation policy is a bitch. I just expect samples I download with my subscription to be MINE for good.

I agree, when you buy a movie on Amazon or UA-cam you will have it forever. You don’t need to download it or you loose it.

Do you ever use tracks you enjoy as a reference and copy some of those sounds? Sometimes I want to use some tricks I hear on a Bedrock track but I'm worried that might be cheating.

I think you should have your own signature sounds, and then try to emulate the sounds that you like from other tracks. I think this will keep your sound and bring freshness to your tracks :)
