Honestly the new upgrades may be worth the $2 upgrade for the original $7 plan. But, I'm going to stick with mine until they force me to upgrade. Love the idea of the Bridge feature.
Sounds used to have the Bridge feature. They just shadow removed it from our subscriptions with no notice just to force people who rely on it onto the more expensive plans.
Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it as always, I went up to the top tier I am not sure why though I haven't really checked out any of the splice stuff to be honest, just haven't really been going through Splice lately, I guess the more I get back in the studio the more I will start to produce more and using Splice as fillers :D now I have my new interface and mixer that should be pretty soon.
Looks like Splice gave me a bunch of stuff I don’t need. I stopped buying new VST instruments, with Sylenth, Serum and Analog Lab, I’m pretty well covered in the instrument department. But those Astra Lofi presets were pretty dope ;)
I was just about to purchase slate digital mix rack for $150 but it looks like thats included in splice... so how does that work? I don't see anyone talking about the mixing plugins.
Random question, but how do you change the view of the SPLICE window on the right hand side? Mine is different to how it looks like for you - and I want it changed back. Any help would be appreciated
I don't understand! 😩 I can't figure out how to use splice! I don't see how to change the tempo or the key once you find a sample or loop you like, and I don't know how to cut them up so they don't sound repetive. I've looked on Youtibe and their website and don't see any basic tutorials for dummies!
I'm a little late to the party, but, if I cancel my subscription, will I still be able to use Astra? I've bought a lot of presets for it so it would be a shame to lose access to those.
I installed the bridge plugin and for some reason when its connected to StudioOne I cant copy and paste or drag the altered file. The File is blank and says it cant locate it. Whats the point if you cant copy and pasted the transposed sample. They almost got it right but not yet. I email them. Patiently waiting ;)
Does this have an abundance of guitar samples? I don't really delve into genres that require beat making. I do a lot of rock, indie, and shoegaze. I'll probably never require a one shot. But I do grab inspiration from guitar samples sometimes and I like to drop in some atmospheric and ambient sounds. would this be worth it for someone like me?
Idk… I don‘t need another drum sequencer or synrh, I don‘t need the plug in rent-to-own, since I own my plug ins anyways. Skills looks interesting, but the lessons seem very beginner-oriented right now. It‘s disappointing that I need to pay for alot stuff I don‘t use. And I‘m not saying these are bad, but I‘m making music way too long to be excited about features like these. To me, Splice is a production tool, nothing more, nothing less.
Meh... I upgraded to the 9.99 because the Bridge plugin will be helpful. Other than that I'll stick with another platform that has done the DAW integration better and for a better price. No disrespect to Splice. What Splice has going for it is the sample content and producers selling/licensing that content are some of the best.
What platform will you be sticking with that has better DAW integration and pricing, may I ask? I have been looking into Splice, Loopcloud, Sounds by NI, and Arcade.
@@TheFriedIndustry I like loopcloud. Just my opinion. It suits my workflow and needs. The sample management is indispensable for me. And I can chop, repitch and add effects to 8 samples or tracks quickly before I drag the samples into my DAW. I looked at Arcade and Sounds. Arcade looks pretty cool but not really right for my workflow needs. I think it's completely in the cloud and doesn't organize your samples on your hard drive. But I think the DAW integration looks comparable to Loopcloud. Don't quote me on that though. I havent tried it. NI looks good if you are part of the NI Machine ecosystem. I think you'll need to decide what works best for you. After using the splice Bridge plug in for the last month or so I found it to be pretty buggy.
@@robertbarner7626 Thanks for the reply! I have NI Komplete 13, But don't have a Maschine. I have been trying to decide between NI sounds and Loopcloud. Thank you for your input/thoughts. I tried Splice and found it to be buggy, as well, with a fresh windows 10 install and a beefy PC rig.
I don't like splice being kind of greedy... plus a lot of the app isn't properly streamlined and organized. They need to optimize and lower their price Tbh. I've considered cancelling several times, def not increasing my subscription. That 'bridge' plugin should def just be included in any 'plan'. I enjoy their vids and sound packs.
I hate how I'm being forced into the new plans now.. I canceled my regular sounds plan because I don't make enough music to fully utilize it. My credits just end up adding up and I have no idea what to spend them all on, since I tend to just need Splice for one off samples like vocals or little effects here and there. As nice as Bridge is and whatever else they've added I'd rather have just stuck to my original plan. I know it's just 2 dollars but I'm frugal enough that I really don't see the point, especially since everyone tends to already have a very similar usage of Splice as me. Too many credits.
@@Justin-xi6ue I Can understand that.. Keep making beats at your own pace. The cheapest option is fair in my opinion even the New Price mostly because of all the different genres and a lot of really Nice drums to Pick from. You could also start out with a cheap plug in like Xpand I rented the Korg pack (about 8 very Nice plug ins) for 20$ Per month… Now i have about 2500 credits and I only use about 10 every week on drums. Splice is Amazing if you need drum samples or if you rent a plug-in.. You get 3 days to try out the plug-ins before you make a decision. The Rent feature is Amazing in my opinion. It’s great If you can’t afford the to pay 500$ in one go or if it seems like a lot compared to the time you spend on making Music. I personally hate spending money so this option is perfect for me
Great video! This really helped me decide on which plan to get! I'm soo excited to make tracks for an EP!
Great to see you uploading more man keep it up
Cheers my friend!
Thx for the heads up. As someone who wouldn't use the new features I'm bummed at the price increase for just sounds.
Yeah, if that's the case definitely hang on to your old plan as long as they'll let you. Cheers!
Well rounded video , to the point no bs.Thanks my guy. Subed
Appreciate that! Cheers!
“Exclusive” “acclaimed” are words I’m not falling for.

Super dope, wish that they will include the rent to own inside the plans such as cerdits, got me?
Bro, I've been searching all around for the different credit plans. It fucking sucks that I have to wait every month for credits.
Thanks! This was very helpful.
Glad to hear it!
Helpful. Thanks. AGAIN

yeah, useful for sure!

Is it possible to play Sounds from the Splice Bridge Instrument Plugin via Midi? Like Loopcloud does.
nice video!!!
Thank you! Cheers!

How do the sound credits work?
1 credit per sample

Interesting. If you think of it, report back. I'd love to know what they have to say.

All very valid points! Thanks for your comment!
Coconut tho
For realllll
They need to upgrade the phone app version to be able to let us export our stem into the vst version
For that kind of money they should give you promotional support.

Bridge should be free.
I think Output Arcade is eating their lunch right now...
Well, they have an update coming... so lets see what that looks like...
@@PatrickBreenMusic Yeah, I asked them to do something for folks who just want sounds at a low price. We will see what happens.

I still pay 7.99

Astra Synth does not work!! Do not upgrade for this synth.
Definitely a loss and not a bang for your buck anymore
basically helping lazy producers become more lazy pffffft.
