Ok. As a Marshalls shopaholic and an Former Supervisor. The best times to shop is in between 12-5. Am team, are spending most of the day, prepping merchandise and pm team will run the " Door to floor" racks. The best time of the year to shop for the cheapest deals are between Christmas and February and for those of you that don't know. Employees, will keep the good stuff in the stock room for themselves so, don't be again to ask questions about merchandise. If you see it, they're not supposed to hold it. Say something and it's yours for the taking. We call it stashing and it's a firable offense. Happy shopping!
I work at a marshalls. When customers take our survey, it effects what is called our OSAT score. We strive to only have extremely satisfied, and otherwise our score will go down to 50% if we only receive satisfied. The corporate takes this seriously, and it pretty much determines the overall rating of the store itself.
Robbie Curbo the bottom of your receipt will have a link to the survey and your receipt should have a transaction code to verify there was a transaction.
I know from personal experience Tip # 1 is true I found that out recently as I was passing through a very high end area I stopped in a TJMAxx I couldn’t believe they had Gucci in a glass case and other nice expensive things
every marshalls gets new stuff everyday and do not go in as soon as the store opens the morning people just clean extra go 11:30-7, sometimes our clothes is in the wrong size, also if you find something you like in a different size or color go to the cashier and ask them to call another store to see if that store has it before wasting your gas if better if the employee calls the store instead of you because the read the number off the labels and the other marshalls has a better time finding it

Hi Melissa, I'm new to your channel, but when you said San Diego, I knew exactly which Marshalls you were at, having lived in SD myself for many years, and having shopped at the same one for the same reason. I even recognized the layout of the store. I realized a while ago that the inventory is different (i.e., better) in the more affluent parts of town, but for some reason, the one you were at is even better than the one in LJ! Great tips! There are 2 marshalls around me and one of them definitely has more designer brands than the other. I got a pair of Sam Edelman booties for $49! It was still on sale at Nordstrom for $149!!
I went to jcpenny the other day and I followed your advice on going to the fancy aisle and I found a rose gold kimono, it was part of a set with a dress which would’ve been $267 but since I didn’t want the dress and without the sale, the kimono would’ve been $67 but I got the kimono for $31! Your advice is amazing, I love your videos. I can’t wait to learn more!
I love love Marshall’s. By far my favorite go to store. Theres only one in my small town and it doesn’t have a lot of selections but like you said you have to have patience and look around to find what you love. I especially love the home goods there so much things for cheap although the clothes and shoes are limited. There is however an abundance of good purses there though.
I work at Marshall’s and I find our clearance section for clothes are big than TJ Maxx. (In my area.) So, for example if you see a simple t shirt you like. Try to find it in the clearance rack. You might get lucky and find the same t shirt in our size for a few dollars less. With that being said you won’t be able to get the full price t shirt for the clearance price because the full price items are the newest items compared to the clearance items.
My fave handbag to buy at Marshall's is the brand Mystique or Madison west. They're always in abundance and they last a longggg time. Very reasonable price.
Honestly i dont care at all about stuff being designer. I love marshalls because they have great items and great prices. I think one of the best tips about marshalls and tjmax is not about the clothing or home stuff ... But about the gormet food and snacks , if you are someone who needs healthy options or likes to be boojie on a budget marshalls is key for being able to try new snacks and food .
Really? I’ve only ever found that the food at Marshall’s is hella expired and gross. We’ve gotten a couple of things from there and they always taste bad

You probably know this already but T.J. Maxx Marshall’s has an online store front now!!! I think they’re having trouble in the stock room because they keep messing up my orders but it’s OK, I’m excited!

Im the womens corrdinator/key at marshalls and most of these tios are valid. However I would add, Don't neglect our clearance section in all departments. Most of the time when we clearence to make room for new march. Yes we get trucks everday, however 9 30is too early to come becuse not that many racks have been pushed. I would say 11am-3pm is when your going to see yhe fresh stuff. Marshall's has a better selection of casual and gym shoes but TJmax has better heels and higher end designer boots. Also most of the current trendy clothing will always be in front of store on and on feature racks for impulse throughout the deparments . Yessssssss. Never leave anything u want at Marshalls. Buy it, think about it, amd if your not in love with it return it, or put it on hold at the register. Yes, the surveys are very important, its the only way your store gets called out and gets bragging rights for customer service. Strive for 5 when you do the survey.

We are absolutely on the same page about shopping out of our neighborhoods and going to the more affluent areas. I have experienced the change in inventory first hand. Watermelon Gal Hello! I’m a coordinator at Marshalls so I can answer this question for you. Depending on how bad the damage is, a coordinator can go up to a 28% markdown. Most of the time we’re only allowed to mark an item down 10% (but with a managers approval, any markdown is possible). For missing items, ask about it! Markdowns for missing items are very complex but I always sell it to the customer for the fair discounted price. Just so you know, for children’s sets, shirts are “worth more” than the bottoms. For example, if a set for a child is 12.99, we wouldn’t mark the mismate price down to 6.00, it would be $8 for the shift and $4 for the shorts. I hope this helps!
My closest Marshall's is not good....lots of very generic brands that are specifically for these types of stores. I need to go on the hunt for a good one! Our TJ Maxx is so-so, nice handbags. I'm in northern California.
See I absolutely adore TJ Maxx more than Marshall’s. I think I might be due to location I live in New York City I might’ve been to probably about 30 T.J. Maxx and marshals stores. I will tell you this there’s not one associate I can tell you what’s new they can barely help you

If they had limited edition runs of trend-items, and made classic bags based on the amount of orders for it, they could: uphold the value of their products, save greatly on materials and time, get more people looking for lifetime bags, and keep their brand image. There are probably plenty other ways they can keep their branding without destroying the planet.
justførkicks, Agree!! When I found that out, it made me not like them even more than I already did. I was never a fan of LV. Their stuff to me is pretty ugly but then to go and destroy product and fill the air with those chemicals and fumes makes it that much worse.

Yes, stive for all 5's is the only way your osat scores go up
Target has a similar ranking system. If we get anything below a 10 in ranking in the surveys, our scores plummet.

I use to work at winners which is a sister brand of Marshall and all owned by the same owner. I’ve never saw anyone win the contest for the survey in the four years I worked there. Waste of time, they just want feed back

Melissa Goodwin I mean they obviously say people do but like I said I’ve worked there so long and never heard anyone win once. And we always had to tell people about the survey constantly. You’d think out of 4 years out of all the stores we would of heard something who knows tho lol

@@Theminerboydiamonds Of course I don't mean that they should do sales. They have to keep their brand image. If they had limited edition runs of trend-items, and made classic bags based on the amount of orders for it, they could: uphold the value of their products, save greatly on materials and time, get more people looking for lifetime bags, and keep their brand image. There are probably plenty other ways they can keep their branding without destroying the planet.
justførkicks, Agree!! When I found that out, it made me not like them even more than I already did. I was never a fan of LV. Their stuff to me is pretty ugly but then to go and destroy product and fill the air with those chemicals and fumes makes it that much worse.
That won't work here. The Marshalls in the upscale area is trash. Sooo picked to death I don't think they do that anymore because people figured it out.
