Hello! I would really appreciate some clarification if possible, please. You mentioned that the calibration level is -18? Is that dbfs on the way in and/ir out? How do u push into it for -1dbfs and -14LUFS using an external hardware as Liniter? Is the Liniter sitting before the AD+ I would assume? But if I push into that-18 targeting the specs mentioned above, wouldn’t that distort the converter on the way into the AD+? I’m confused :(
If you did a mix through the Dangerous, and also printed one through the Orion A-D, it SHOULD make enough difference to hear even on youtube playback. if it DOESN'T , then is it really worth it?
what - it would be re-converted to digital and then back to analog at your end - "if it doesn't make a difference on a highly compressed internet audio, it's not worth it" - lol, yeah right
@@danielvgomes can be a difference,.....if not what is the point of having great gear when most people listen in crappy system?? and bad ears// ? is for the engineer makes a difference..is enough
Hey James I dont hear any difference when I turn my transformer on and twist the emphasis knob all the way right...I'm thinking I should hear a big difference..
All you need to do is have the O/P of your PT session to be one of the Analog outs of the Orion then link this to the Convert AD+ then rout back into PT via one of the Digitial I/P on the Orion. It's a little convoluted but might be worth the while as the A/D conversion of the Convert AD+ sounds so good.
would it be better than my prism yyaaaarrrrr not another one, I thought I was done, I think I'm at the wall of diminishing returns, nice review james, do you do any sesh drums
I'm very sure that this unit is really fantastic like most Dangerous gear are - however I don't get the "no track this time" logic. 'cause if the difference between with or without this unit is impossible to hear from this video, it would be impossible to hear anywhere else. Doesn't make any sense at all. If there is a difference of course we can hear it.
I see the overstayer on top there. Demo of that coming soon too?

With the 2 inputs you could use this a a front end for tracking up to 2 sources I guess. What kind of latency does it have?

really? that is not possible
I'm so happy to own one of the AD + it captures the analog audio on high resolution to digital domain, like a master tape in old days.
Do you plan to make a Review of Dangerous Compressor ?
Hi James do you do mixing...in the realm of hip hop?
How can u go out from protools via orion hd and get back in throught AD+?

Hi John. Yes I am a session drummer. If you need anything hit me up via the contact page on Pro Tools Expert. JI.
Good video! Hope we'll be seeing reviews of the other Dangerous pieces in your care package, James? :)
Please also review the Overstayer you have there on top :-)

yeah absolutely useless. you can definitely hear these differences on youtube, even if they are made more subtle by the data compression.
should include an audio demo. excuse for not doing one was lame. we can read the features & specs online. what we can't read is *how it sounds*.
very nice, james.
underrated video
I feel this review is a little negative. It must sound stellar when Dailed in and pushed the right way. Also no single A/B demo's.
